EDIT: I guess technically it's a Crested Penguin? That's like 6 species, but they all look basically the same except for the Royal Penguin which it definitely isn't as that has a white face.
story or art; Ujara acquired his familiar Fara early one November. The rockhopper penguins had gathered for the mating season as they always did, and Ujara, who liked to watch the humorous little birds who share his markings, was there as well. Nature being what she is however, another species saw an opportunity. A seal had found the penguins stretch of beach and had been picking them off.

For the most part Ujara accepted this as simply part of the circle of life. The seal had to eat too after all, and while Ujara never fed on Rockhoppers, other birds and small mammals were fair game. Still, when the seal went for a young penguin who waddled with as much speed as it could muster to cower under Ujarachao, his maternal instincts were roused.

Since that day he and the penguin, dubbed Fara, have been inseparable.

story or art; Cal was roaming around, as he always does, in the antarctic, and observing all of the different species near him. So far he had spotted the chinstrap penguins, one or two macaroni penguins, an arctic seal, and an arctic fox. He came across an egg that seemed abandoned. He carefully put the egg in his pack and went home. A couple months later in his den he saw a crack in the egg, and excitedly watched the egg hatch. He hand fed the fledgeling and it has been following him ever since. He has apparently taken on some sort of mothership role.

congrats on winning! i had to look up what macaroni penguin was but its just the rock hopper with another name
