Basil nodded, looking back at him. Soren didn’t seem fazed at the mention of going to the Aboveworld. “You’re right, we should probably talk about it somewhere else but here” She said quietly. Basil was a bit surprised that he wanted her to lead the way out and to the caves. Smiling a bit, she headed down the hall with him. As they walked out of the castle, Basil kept an eye out to make sure no one saw them leaving. Once they were outside, the green haired girl let out a soft, relived sigh. “This way” She said, leading the way towards the earthen walls of the city. Since the city was underground, there were several secret caves that lead to many different places. Some up to the Aboveworld, some ran under the city in a complex drainage system. But, even Basil knew not to go down there, it wasn't safe. The caves down there were old and crumbling. It was also rumored that criminals hid in the complex system of tunnels.

Hawthorne nearly caught up to the girl, grabbing another thin metal chain from his belt. His eyes widened as he watched her transform. Skidding to a halt, the man spat, " You're a mix?" Hawthorne looked at her with a scornful expression. He thought that mixes were inferior to pure-blooded Quell, but it didn't help that he knew that she was a thief. "Give me that book. Now" He growled, holding his hand up to throw the chain. "I won't have petty thieves in my city. "

Arkady shook with anger, not letting her eyes leave the chain that the man held. Up close, she recognized him to be one of the princes. She transformed back into her human form and laughed. Her eyes gleamed and the corners of her mouth turned upwards in a grin. "My apologies I didn't know I was in the presence of royalty. What an honor." She knew most of the royals thought of themselves as superiors to the rest of the Quell and especially to mixes. Arkady's eyes narrowed. "Yeah, I'm a mix, so what? You think I wanted to be an outcast?" Her voice was rising, and she could feel the eyes of the surrounding Quells fall on her. She needed a way out, a way to get back to her friends. Most importantly, she had to get this book back to them. The money from selling the book could feed them for weeks while Arkady was gone. It was her first time daring to steal something, and of course she got caught. My luck is awful isn't it?

She turned to face the stranger who had approached her when she had fallen. Arkady had been to caught up in the moment to even notice him but now he had caught her attention. Her cheeks went red as she now realized that he and everyone else now knew that she was a mix, and even worse, a thief. The man had announced it to the world. She stuttered and tried to find the right words. "You shouldn't be near me. I will only cause you trouble." Arkady shook her head as she looked around at the crowd that had stepped away from her.

Aurora watched as Amille stumbled. "Are you alright?" They didn't need the medic getting hurt herself. There were already to many injuries back at camp and having the healer out would only make everything worse. Her eyes were full of concern and worry as she looked down at her fellow Howler. Aurora was antsy and wanted to get back before anything else happened.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine." Amille grumbled. It was much harder to get back on four feet than two. She considered changing back to human form, but Aurora looked worried. It seemed she wanted to get back to camp, and fast. So Amille quickly got herself to her feet, and they both started walking. Aurora's expression never changed, so Amille thought to ask her.

"Everything okay, Aurora? You look nervous. Is something wrong?" Genuine concern was rarely seen in Amille,
so she must care about Aurora. Amille stopped, and turned around. She was essentially blocking the way until Aurora told her what was wrong.

The task to retrieve herbs wasn't all that difficult. He'd made sure to get plenty of herbs like hops, kava, and catnip since that tended to be the first to be depleted when thier stash of herbs was fully stocked. Then of course he couldn't forget about the herbs needed to make tea like chamomile and mint. He rubbed his neck as he carried the hnd woven basket of herbs into the bakery. The next task was to pick up the pastries that had been ordered the day before. Humming softly, Donnie maintained a genuinely pleasant attitude. The smell of the herbs from the local greenhouse had made him calm down significantly. Obtaining the éclair pastries that were meant for tonight's dinner, Donnie then traveled back to his home where he met up with a rather wild-eyed Spencer.
He handled the herbs with careful hands as he put them into the medicine cabinet and then he made sure to put the pastries in a metal continaer to keep warm. All the while, he listened to Spencer as she droned on about Donnie's next task at hand. Honestly Donnie didn't know how in the world Spencer got the information but he suspected his parents had something to do with it. "It won't be an easy task" he sighed, rolling his eyes softly as Spencer completely ignored him and kept saying that her abilties would be perfect for the job and that he needed her help. "Yeah, okay. Just don't create attention. I don't need anyone following us up to the waterfall" he said, fliniching slightly when Spencer cheered in triumph and raced upstairs to get her bag ready.
Donnie sighed. Well it would be helpful to get some help with the next task at hand. Then he could be back in time for dinner hopefully.

Aurora came to a stop as Amille stepped in front of her. Her eyes narrowed, trying to avoid her question. "Amille, please move." She knew that she could easily make her if she wanted to, but she decided that that was a little far. Was everything alright? She didn't know the answer to that question just yet. Aurora shook her head and sighed. "I'm fine Amille, okay?" She wasn't one of the most positive people in the world, but she wasn't the most negative one in the pack, right? Aurora liked to think that she was somewhat happy, but she couldn't exactly remember the last time she laughed.

Amille knew she wasn't getting anywhere. Aurora wasn't going to spill her feeling there and then, she had to slowly break her walls down. They never were really friends, but Amille knew she could get to Aurora. It would just take time. Amille moved, and continued her walk. She heard Aurora follow her, silent as she possibly could. Why did she care so much? It was kinda bugging Amille. But she wanted to get to know Aurora.
"Sorry Aurora. Just making sure. Do you think it would be better to go as people?"

Soren smiled as she took lead, walking right along with her, maintaining a balanced, quiet step. He was more curious to let her lead the way so as to see how well she could sneak out, which he was happy as there didn't seem to be a problem. He took a glance around once they were out of the castle and, after returning his focus to the task at hand, followed Basil out. He felt a childish and upbeat energy that he hadn't felt as much lately. He'd forgotten how much he adored the idea of wandering the caves, since most his time was dedicated to various hobbies and less to actually exploring, unintentionally forming a fairly regular schedule that he'd fallen into. Once he figured that it was probably almost completely safe, probably unlikely that anyone would see or try to stop them, a soft laugh escaped him. "You've really never tried to sneak out before?" He was curious, gaze focusing back to his sister.

Josie tilted her head, "No, sorry I had no idea talking animals existed." she murmured sarcastically, this cheetah had a way of not knowing waht he wanted, "So, what? Do you like that we don't know about you or not?" she asked, frowning at him. The crunching Her shoes made seemed louder than thunder next to the silent wild cat.

Josh had stepped back to avoid being hit, watching the argument through narrowed eyes. Someone like this Hawthorne character had already caused him enough trouble, and this quell boy didn't seem any better. He looked back to Arkady curiously, "Why would you cause me trouble?" he asked softly, confusion blanketing his words as he stared at her quizzically. Josh wasn't the brightest, and unfortunately quite innocent. He understood the desperation that came with having little to nothing. He hadn't always been a noble, and the title still clearly made him squirm uncomfortably. "I- uhm..." he paused unsure of what to say to her without getting a snarky reply back, but his temper flared at Hawthorne's accusations, "Who died and made you king?" he hissed, his angry voice dripping with sarcasm. Josh glanced at Arkady, a desperate look, one that he was sure made him look weak, but she had to understand that innocent people would get hurt if he continued to let his anger rise. "Just give the book back." he murmured through clenched teeth as he dug around his bag and pockets roughly. He inhaled and exhaled steadily, slowly calming himself, and pulled out a 24 karat gold ring with a ruby in the center and two smaller diamonds flanking it on either side. He held out his hand, wanting Arkady to do the same, all the while looking at her expectantly.

Addison sped through the forest and dodged around trees. Running was like a second nature, and she could run for hours without growing tired. I knew two-legged, furless beings did exist" Leo retorted, "though mostly cause I can shift into one" Leo then shrugged awkwardly, looking more like he faltered as he walked. "But I guess it's just weird that humans are so...ignorant to the world around them. There is a blasted war going on and I highly doubt humans know anything about it" he flattened his ears, unsure if he was supposed to be talking like this but he really couldn't help himself, "I suppose that is just fine though.
