I like to keep my writing simple, it's how I've always done things. However, now that I'm majoring in English literature, I've noticed my vocabulary is extremely limited and narrow. I would like to expand it.

Disclaimer: Keep in mind I am no native English speaker. For the matter, English is my third language, and the only language I did not get the chance to learn in school. Most people in my country cannot speak English at all, therefore they obviously won't be of any use introducing me to new words. If you use some of these words in regular conversation, that's great! However, I haven't had that luck. All I can do is work on my vocabulary... with myself.

If you haven't guessed, I'll be posting one relatively uncommon English word on here every day.
I'll have one post to keep track of them, another post for extra things you can do to expand your lexical knowledge, and the remaining posts will contain one word each along with its definition, and at least one example of it used in a sentence. If you want to share a couple of words you like as well, feel free. This thread is completely open to posting, as long as it is somewhat relevant to the topic of discussion (uncommon words).
