backstory/extra info;; Melie was born on a small island off of Hawaii. It's not talked about much, but it was her whole world. for all she knew it was the only place on earth that mattered, until the home-landers came..

it was an unusually warm day, even for the tropical climates of Hawaii, but it didn't bother melie too much. She was used to this kind of weather, always warm and rainy, but today it was the sun shown high in the sky. she skipped down the gravel path leading to the small beach she had claimed for herself a few years prior.
