Oliver's gaze flicked towards Soren as his brother ate his bacon. How dare he eat his precious meal. He laughed at their responses, acting as if nothing happened at all. He'd get back at his brother one way or another. "Finally living a little I see my dearest siblings. I never stay at the castle anyways" He smiled, "I suppose I can come along. You'll need a big strong bro to protect you after all. But..." he nommed on his hash browns, cutting himself off, "Bes' keep it on da down low. Wouldn't wan' ma' and da' knowin' where we goin'. Or Hawthrone. Especially him" he said, intentionally speaking with a mouth full of food.

Basil wrinkled her nose a bit at Oliver's terrible table manners. Speaking with his mouth full of food like that disgusted her, very obviously. She nodded, " Mmhm, that's probably a good idea. " Basil agreed. They didn't want to be caught by their grumpy older brother. She crossed her arms, frowning. " What do you mean, ' we need a big strong bro to protect us'?" Basil said, indignantly. " We can handle ourselves, thank you very much!" She huffed. She and Soren may have been the smallest of the royal siblings, but she was confident in their abilities. Basil looked over at Soren, pushing her bangs slightly aside, but not enough to reveal her eyes completely. " Just for that, I don't think we should let him join our merry little band".

Soren smiled and laughed as Oliver spoke. "Mm, I'm not usually here either, honestly. Only reason I'm still here is 'cause I woke up late." He raised up his arms, stretching a bit, even adjusting his position so he could spread his wings out for a moment. He seemed to find it a bit distasteful as Oliver spoke with his mouth full, though he said nothing, not as obviously repulsed as Basil was by it. He nodded with agreement that they should try to avoid any possibility of being caught, as for however much he respected Hawthorne, he really didn't want to be on his bad side- which, he assumed he already was, honestly.
His focus was caught by Basil as she pointed out that just the two of them could handle themselves, and he quirked a smile at her confidence in them and huffed, putting up his own indignant expression. It had initially slid by him, as he could admit that Oliver was probably better in a fight than he himself was, but her confidence and pointing it out brought up some form of pride in him. "Hnh, yeah! We have more than enough training to handle ourselves, and I'm more than capable of taking care of any injuries we get." He crossed his arms, raising one hand up to hold his chin, humming in thought. While it wouldn't hurt to have Oliver with them, he was doubtful that it was even going to be dangerous. "Maybe we shouldn't! We aren't completely helpless little kids, after all, and we definitely don't need protection."

Ollie rolled his eyes but played along. "Oh woe is me! Left all alone on my own with no one to hang out with, what ever shall I do?" he snickered, chugging the rest of the orange juice. "I've got it!" he said, slamming the cup on the table with as much gentleness as he could muster. "I shall be the good prince I am and report such rebellious kiddos to Hawthrone at once!" he smirked, he was so not above blackmail. "Or ya know, maybe Mother and Father would love to here about your upcoming adventure. Either way, I never said I needed your permission to tag along ladies and gents" A flash of overwhelming confidence flickered in his eyes. Sometimes he was fun and easygoing but at other times he could be downright devious.

Basil nodded, agreeing with Soren. " We can take care of ourselves. Besides it's not even terribly dangerous!" She insisted. They didn't need their annoying sibling tagging along. But, at Oliver's words, she frowned deeply. She looked shocked that Oliver would stoop so low as to blackmail them. She flinched as he slammed the cup down. " You wouldn't...." She said, her new-found confidence slipping. Basil looked almost hurt. She clenched her fist, inadvertently making the metal tray slide closer to her. She scowled from behind her long bangs, " Two can play at this game. I'll tell Mother and Father that you've been skipping your studies AND you've been stealing Soren's swords. " Basil said. It was obvious she was out of her element. She hated arguing with her siblings. Her quiet, skittish personality made her less than threatening.

Soren gave a nod and a little chuckle with Basil's words. He watched Oliver, curious, tilting his head as he slammed the cup down. He fidgeted at what he dubbed a threat, grimacing. "You cannot hate me that much," he muttered. Possibly being over-dramatic about the idea of being reported for sneaking out, he was confident that they'd have his head if they realised how often he did it, or worse, lock him up until he actually got all his work done. He glanced at the tray then back to Basil, frowning. He didn't seem happy to have an argument going, especially over something so serious. While he got into plenty of arguments, they usually weren't with people he cared about. "You've been what?" He looked back at Oliver and narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms and straightening his back a bit. "Firstly, why steal from me? You can just as easily get what I have!" He glared for a moment, before he closed his eyes and raised his hand, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Ugh... besides that, at this rate, we'll just end up tearing each other down if we tried to report one another. That wouldn't get us anywhere."

"Go reveal all my secrets why don't ya?" Ollie pouted and pulled his tray back to him in a possessive manner. He still had eggs to eat and he wasn't about to waste them even if he was already feeling full. "And I don't hate you, not exactly" he muttered bluntly, "It's just much more fun to steal your swords. I can't exactly steal them from a blacksmith now can I?"
He smiled as he glanced towards his shortstack of a brother before flicking towards his sister. There was few dozen ways to respond to the threat that wasn't much of a threat in his eyes. He shrugged carelessly, "Lookie here dear sister," he sighed inwardly, "There is something special about being notoriously rebellious. Not only do people expect you to act childish and be unreliable, but they aren't surprised when they hear that you've done something 'bad'." Ollie hummed, his gaze turning towards the leftover scrambled egg. "Even if I have been skipping my studies, it isn't like I will be the next King of Solodin. What does it matter that I skip classes that teach skills I'll never need?" Like a child, he stuck his tongue out at basil, "Nice try though. I commend you in your attempt to play my game"

Josie cleared her mind of everything and took a tentative step forward, "I-I know you're there." she tried to sound confident, but her voice broke as it trailed off to just a whisper, "I won't hurt you. If that's what you're afraid of." she whispered. Now if someone is there I sound like a complete idiot. Great. With a sharp gasp Josie froze, her arms rigid and fists balled at her side. There, crouched in the shelter of some foliage not ten feet from her, two glowing amber eyes met hers. She couldn't bring herself to tear them away, terrified of what was happening. A freaking cheetah? Why does my bad luck have to spring up in the most annoying ways? she groaned inwardly and unclenched her fists, her nails had been digging into her palms, leaving marks in her skin. "Um, I think I'm just going to... Walk, that way." she murmured slowly and taking a half step back, realizing her mistake as soon as her muscle twitched. Backing away from any kind of predator was dangerous, but of course, she wasn't thinking straight at the moment.

Joshua had his head buried deep in a piece of writing. Codes, scattered all across the page as his brown eye flickered here and there and his brain churned to decode it. He had been given this, though he didn't know by whom. He glanced up just in time to avoid hitting a mom and her daughter. "Sorry," he muttered, his eyes returning to the yellowed paper.

Basil huffed angrily, her cheeks bright red. " I could tell a lot of your secrets, brother. " She spat the last word as if it were an insult. " And not just about your petty thieving either. I know a lot about the things that go own around here because I actually listen" The small girl crossed her arms defensively over her chest. " I know why you steal Soren's things. You're jealous that he's the most likely to take the throne."Basil slapped her hands on the table, making the metal tin and silverware shake. She lowered her voice a bit and leaned closer to Oliver." I'm not as dumb as I look, you know." Basil said, her quiet voice unusually angry. Up close, he could almost see her emerald eyes. " Father is going to choose one of us to rule Solodin one day. We all have a shot at the throne. If you spent more time listening to other people rather than talking all the time, you would know that too. ". She scoffed, looking pointedly at Oliver" Though, some of us have a better shot than others. The ones of that actually care about ruling Solodin " Basil wrinkled her nose in distaste as he stuck he tongue out at her. " Oh why don't you grow up? It's like arguing with a child. A very pouty, spoiled child" She said, frowning. " You're proud of being a rebel, aren't you? You don't even care about ruling at all do you? If you did, you'd study and train like a good little prince instead of gallivanting off everyday. "

A smirk played on Ollie's face as he listened to his sister while slowly eating the rest of his eggs. The expression twitched a little every time his poor tin container was disrupted from it's peaceful position but he remained calm nonetheless. "Did I hit a nerve dear sister?" he tsked, smiling slyly for he let Basil's words roll off his back, "What makes you think I even want the throne?" he laughed softly, scooping up the last bit of egg and chewing it thoughtfully in his mouth. He had to choose his words wisely as to not reveal anymore of his true feelings. "I truly don't care about ruling but rather who is to rule. For the longest time I believed Hawthrone would be the next ruler and I was okay with that but look where that guy is now" he sighed but then looked up at Basil with an innocent smile, "So don't get all worked up now. I'm sure you have a chance at being Queen, even if it is a small chance"
