♕ Personality

Postby lunala. » Sat Dec 09, 2017 4:42 pm

        ➳ Determined
Sophie possesses this trait in many situations throughout her story. Once the revolution has taken place, she has no intention of ever stopping her reign over the national assembly and will continue to lead even if it means taking her own life. Paris has also shown a great amount of this trait throughout the story as well. With his mindset and skills, he aids Sophie with making the right decisions about being a great and successful leader. Sophie also wishes to share her knowledge of determination with the members of the national assembly, in hopes that they too will rise and join her reign, to help France become a just country to all of its citizens. As a little girl Sophie has never been that much of a leader. Instead, she was more of a follower not being used to telling others what to do. During the revolution, she is hesitant to lead the national assembly, to overthrow the absolute monarch, to become a threat to France and all of Europe. Despite all of this clouding her thoughts and mind, she knows that if she doesn’t make a change then no one will. Sophie gains an immense amount of self pride and decides that she will be the change that others wants to see.

        ➳ Mother Figure
It is important for a great leader to support their followers with anything they might need. Food, medical assistance, or even just a bit of mental support will easily fulfill their thirst for comfort. Sophie has never been that well with emotional guidance, considering the fact that she had none growing up. Although being able to make sure that her followers are doing well is her biggest responsibility as a revolutionary leader. She’s learning something new each and every day about who she is and what she stands for in the revolution. Just knowing that her followers, Paris, and herself will one day be happy once the current government has been overthrown, fills her up with a mother-like sensation, promising that everything will be okay once all of the evil and corruption of this world has left to another life, forever.

        ➳ Acting Strategically
Acting without a sufficient plan is one of Sophie’s greatest fears. She’s apprehensive about it, worried that someday a catastrophe will arise and swallow everything in it’s path. Having a strong plan is one of her top qualities. Because of this, she always prepared for anything. Well... I wouldn't say always prepared. Most of the time she is, but there are some times where she won't know what to do and will ask for assistance. Sophie isn't a quitter either; she's a problem solver. She doesn't want to build walls, but instead build bridges. Making connections, and furthering the great future of her beloved country. Throughout the story you can see Sophie having many struggles with some decisions, but in the end she overcomes them and decides to put in her all to make it work. Acting Strategically is a great leader's most important trait.

        ➳ Authenticity
No one likes to live a lie. No one wants to have a reputation of being a liar. Although most take the path of telling lies in order to secure their future, others take the path of being authentic; to themselves, and to others. The truth does hurts, it's a pain you can't imagine. A cut that bleeds from somewhere deep inside you, and a regret you cannot heal. But sometimes, being a great leader has it's ups and downs with authenticity. Most lie to earn their power, while others don't give out any dishonesty about themselves. Sophie believes that being an authentic leader will give her followers a taste of what she's made of; a sweet tomato who will fight for what's just. And that's what her followers want. They don't want some liar who in the end admits to all of their lies and never fulfills their promises. They want someone who's truthful, someone who dedicates their time to what's right, someone who fulfills their promises and never fill others up with lies, someone who's authentic.

        ➳ Theme Song
"How does a moment last forever?"
        - Celine Dion

How does a moment last forever?
How can a story never die?
It is love we must hold onto
        Never easy, but we try
        Sometimes our happiness is captured
Somehow, our time and place stand still
Love lives on inside our hearts and always will

Minutes turn to hours, days to years then gone
But when all else has been forgotten
        Still our song lives on

Maybe some moments weren't so perfect
Maybe some memories not so sweet
But we have to know some bad times
        Or our lives are incomplete
Then when the shadows overtake us
Just when we feel all hope is gone
We'll hear our song and know once more
        Our love lives on

How does a moment last forever?
        How does our happiness endure?
Through the darkest of our troubles
Love is beauty, love is pure
Love pays no mind to desolation
It flows like a river through the soul
        Protects, proceeds, and perseveres
        And makes us whole

Minutes turn to hours, days to years then gone
But when all else has been forgotten
        Still our song lives on
How does a moment last forever:
        When our song lives on

Chapter theme song: Dvořák: Serenade for Strings, Czech Suite

        February 1, 1780
“Mother, I have five coins! May I please go and buy a loaf of bread at the bakery down the street?” Said Sophie. She was a fifteen year old spirited girl with a dream for adventure. It was the only thing she could think of; adventuring all over Europe with her best friend. Although being in the third estate didn’t help her dream all that much. The estate Sophie was in was treated like rubbish by the second and first estates; the nobles and monarchy. Her estate never received any of the luxurious items the first and second estate had. They were always treated like animals, and barely received enough income to support their families. Even buying a loaf of bread was too expensive for them.
“Alright! But be back before dawn.” Said Sophie’s mother.
        “Okay!”
And the little girl was off on her small, yet grand adventure to the local bakery. Sophie had lived in Paris, France for her entire life. At that time, France was under the rule of the absolute monarchs King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette. The two monarchs have only one son, named King Louis XVII of France, and is rarely seen by the third estate. The prince usually kept inside of the Palace of Versailles with his parents. His parents do this to him because they want monitor what he does with his free time. After all, rumor has it that the King and Queen want him to be the perfect little king they want him to be. They dress him in fine clothes, they feed him fine meals, and they teach him how to act like a proper monarch; his head held up high, speaking with proper language, and to give a good reputation to his family name. These are the three rules he lives by, and will live by for as long as he lives.
As Sophie walked along the rugged stone pavement of her city streets, her mind became cluttered up with the thought of the loaf of bread; her mouth began to water. She rarely had bread because of how expensive it was. For that reason she usually had it for one to three times a year, but there were a couple of years that didn’t have bread of all. After King Louis XV ruled France, everything went downhill. Food prices skyrocketed, a lot of viscets went homeless, and almost everyone lost what they worked for. Sophie’s family, on the other hand, were one of the families who didn’t lose everything they had. Although they did have to give up a couple of items in order to support themselves.
After a while of walking down the stone pavement, Sophie had finally reached the bakery. The shop was quite old, and has been standing for a longer time than Sophie’s time here on planet Earth. It was squished between two larger buildings, and had a couple of dusty windows, some of which were cracked. A small wooden door with multiple finger wide holes stood between two windows that haven’t been dusted in ages. The bakery looked haunted from the outside, but if you look closely, you can see a faint bright light in the inside by looking through the undusted windows from the outside. If you looked for long enough, you can see a whole row of freshly baked wheat bread along with other delicious pastries. Sophie couldn’t wait any longer, and immediately rushed through the door. Her stomach was growling; she hadn’t eaten in a day. Inside the bakery was a viscet, much older than Sophie. He looked as if he was around his mid fifties.
“Good afternoon Sophie!” Said the older viscet. He seemed quite pleased to see Sophie. “What brings you in today?”
“Good afternoon Mr. Peter!” Said Sophie with a cheerful tone. “I finally have enough coins to buy a whole loaf of bread!” The little girl comes in to Mr. Peter's bakery every once so often to greet him, and to catch up on recent events that have been happening to the city.
“That’s great Sofie! Let me go and get a loaf of sourdough fresh out of the oven for you.” Said Mr. Peter, heading to the back of his bakery to get the loaf of bread for Sophie.
As the little girl waited, she began to count the number of coins in her paws. “One… two… three… four- wait, four?” She began to choke on her own words. “Wait… I left the house with five coins...” Sophie began to think about what might have happened. “I think I lost one on the way over here…” She could hear the shop door open in the background.
“Here’s your bread Sophie!” Said Mr. Peter, walking back into the main room from the back room. “Fresh out of the oven for you!”
“Mr. Peter… I don’t have enough coins for the bread.” said Sophie, looking down in disappointment.
“Wait!” Said a little boy wearing a black cloak. He walked up to Mr. Peter, and handed him five gold coins. “Please, take this.”
Mr. Peter’s eyes grew as he saw the boy hidden in his jet black cloak. Soon, a smile joined in with his widening eyes. “Ah, Paris! It’s good to see you again.”
Paris? Sophie thought to herself. She didn’t know anyone by that name.
“Shh! Mr. Peter!” whispered Paris. “You know you can’t be revealing my identity around here!”
“Ah but don’t worry Paris.” Smiled Mr. Peter. “It’s just Sophie and I. She won’t bite. In fact, she’s a regular here. Just like you.”
A regular? Him? The little girl grew curious of this boy. She had never seen him in the shop, or even around this area.
“Okay then… I trust you…” Paris then removed his black cloak, and wrapped it around his left paw. The boy let out a sigh, and then turned to face me; a soft smile grew on his face. “You must be Sophie! Nice to meet you!”
The little girl was confused; yet at the same time interested in the boy. He seemed to be no older than her. “Hello! And yeah, that’s me!” She giggled. “And you must be Paris!”
Paris smiled. “Yup! And this is your bread!” He grabbed the warm loaf of bread from the counter and handed it to be. It was neatly wrapped in white cloth.
“But isn’t it your bread? You’re the one who paid for it…”
“Just a little gift from me to you.” He let out a sigh. “Mother and Father always said to give to the third estate.”
“Third estate?” Sophie tilted her head in curiosity. “So does that mean that you’re apart of the second or even first estate?”
Mr. Peter joined in on the conversation. “Would you believe it Sophie? Paris here is from the first estate! Better yet, he is the Prince Louis XVII of France!”
“Mr. Peter!” growled Paris. “You know you can’t be- ugh…” He let out a sigh. “Yep. That’s me. The one and only.”
Sophie was shocked. “You’re the Prince Louis? If you are then why are you outside of the Palace?”
“Please, just call me Paris. I sneak out from time to time. After all, Mother and Father don’t approve of me leaving their sight.”
“Wow… I can’t imagine being raised like that. I’m very sorry.”
“Nah, don’t worry about me. I still get treated well; in the palace that is. When I go out of the Palace everyone just wants to beat me up because they hate my father and his way of ruling. And they’re right! His way of ruling is horrible! All I’m really trying to do out here is buy some members of the third estate a loaf of bread because it’s unaffordable to them. Although in the end, all I get in return is a kick in the abdomen.” Paris then removed his black cloak from his left paw which was covering up the bruises on his abdomen. There were multiple. Most of them were recent, some not so bad, and there were one or two that were black.
“Ahh!” Sophie screamed a bit. She had never seen such injuries before. “I can help you out with those; I have a special ointment in my house.” She smiled, offering to help the Prince out.
“I’d love to go, but I’m afraid I can’t let anyone see me like this.” Explained Paris. “If too many people see me in the state I’m in, then word will get out to my parents that I’m out here, and being abused by the third estate. And if they believe that, then they’ll have your heads…”
A determined smile grew on Sophie’s face. “Don’t worry! I know a secret passage up to my room that my parents don’t even know about. You’re safe with me. I promise!”
“You’d actually do that for me?” a soft pink blush grew on Paris’ face. “T-Thank you…”
“Alrighty! Let’s get a move on.” Said Sophie, grabbing ahold of Paris’ hand. She began to walk out of the shop. “Thanks for the bread Mr. Peter! I’ll see you soon!”
“Anytime Sophie!” Yelled out Mr. Peter, waving his paw in the air. “I’ll see you soon!”

As the two viscets walked out of the shop, Paris struggled to put his black cloak on. “Sophie! You know anyone can’t see me exposed like this.” He then put his hood on his head. “So… how long till we get to your house?”
“It’s okay. No one’s around here anyways. You’re safe with me, remember?” Chuckled the girl. “And it’s two blocks down. Not so far from here. At the speed we’re going at, we should be there in around five minutes.”
        “Oka-” Paris then halted.
“And who might this be Sophie?” Said a Viscet who appeared to be walking down the same street the other two were.
“Oh. Hey Oro.” Mumbled Sophie. She didn’t like Oro one bit. “He’s just a friend”
“A friend you say?” Smirked the brightly colored viscet. “You know, father always told me to make sure everyone is in check. So I think I have to check your friend over here if he’s okay.” Oro reached out his paw to lift up Paris’ cloak.
        “Hnng! I’m fine!” growled Paris.
“Huh? His voice sounds familiar.” said Oro.
“There’s no way that’s possible! H-He’s from the countryside! Over by the Prussian border!” Sophie began to stutter. “He’s my friend who’s more like my cousin! My mom wants to check up on him for… his illness! Yes, his illness!”
“So you traveled all the way over here from the countryside on foot just so your mother could give him a check up?”
“Yep! That’s what happened!” Smiled Sophie, moving Paris behind her. She began to move away from Oro. “Well, I guess we’ll be on our way! You know, It’s a t-terrible time to be sick out here in this kind of weather! See you later O-Oro!”
Oro grew confused. “Oh well. I guess I’ll have to meet your friend another time.” He began to walk in the opposite direction that Sophie and Paris were walking in.
As Sophie walked away from Oro she began to grip onto Paris’ arm tighter. “Ugh I just can’t stand him! He’s a terrible person! He comes by here very often just to treat everyone badly because we’re in the third estate!”
“Huh? You actually know him?” Said Paris who was growing with curiosity. “He comes to the Palace of Versailles from time to time; only because he’s in the second estate. He receives training from the palace guards who are trying to train him to be a personal guard for my Father.” His face grew bright red. “He actually likes my Father’s way of ruling.”
“He actually likes the king’s way of ruling?” The girl was shocked to see what Paris had said. “Well, looks like he’s not gonna be one of my enemies.” Chuckled Sofie. “Hey look! We’re here!” She let go of Paris’ arm, and looked up at her house. It looked like no one was there, but she didn’t want to take any chances.
“You still remember what I said? No one can see me like this…”
“Yep! I remember, that’s why we’re taking an alternative route, remember?” Stepping aside, she reached out to the front mat, and placed it aside; revealing a secret hole right in front of her door. “Just jump down in here and follow the trail. Then climb up the set of ladders, and before you know it you’ll be in my room!”
“Okay… I trust you Sophie…” Said Paris, jumping into the hole.
“Wait for me!” The girl then grabbed the mat she placed aside, and jumped down into the hole, placing the mat above the hole to make it seem as if the secret entrance wasn’t there.
“Hey, it’s pitch black in here Sophie!” growled Paris. “Where am I supposed to go?”
“Ugh, just grab ahold of my hand, and follow me.” She then grabbed Paris’ hand and led the way through the tunnel. After a couple of seconds, the two had finally reached the set of stairs. “Now climb up.”
“If you say so.” Paris then moved in front of Sophie and began to climb up the set of ladders. The girl was climbing up right below him.

“And we’re here!” Sophie then pushed her way in front of Paris, and opened the latch door. The two then made their way out of the ladders, and up to Sophie’s room.
“Little place, isn’t it?” Said Paris, looking around Sophie’s Room.
“Yeah… It’s all we can afford at the moment…” She smiled. Even though she doesn’t have the best belongings in the world, it still won’t stop her from being the happy soul she is. “Oh! I almost forgot, the medication!” She then walked up to her bed. Beside it was a capsule filled with ointment. “Here it is! Just sit down, and I’ll apply the ointment.”
The prince then made his way towards Sofie, and sat down beside her on her bed. It was quite comfortable actually. Not so many springs. The majority of it was filled with stuffing instead. Letting out a sigh he removed the cloak from his body, trusting Sophie that nothing would happen to him while he was with her. He could feel himself starting to trust her more by the moment.
“Now just sit still…” Placing her finger inside the capsule she grabbed a small chuck of ointment, and placed her paw on Paris’ abdomen, rubbing it around the bruised areas. His rainbow colored fur was soft, you can tell he has been treating it with care. Brushing it everyday, and putting some sort of conditioner in it. It smelled nice too. More like a spring meadow filled with tulips. “So, feel any change yet?”
Paris chuckled. “Not quite, but with your ointment applying abilities I’ll start to feel change soon.”
“My magic’s strong enough to make anyone change. And trust me by that.”
“Oh really? And if I don’t?”
“Then… This will happen!” Sophie then shoved Paris flat onto the bed.
“So you wanna play that game, huh?” A smirk grew on his face. He then got back up and reached towards Sophie; but then halted due to a growing pain where his bruises were. “Hnng!”
        “Hey! Stay still next time.”
“But you’re the one who started it.”
        “You have any proof!”
“Ugh!” Paris rolled his eyes. “You win.”
“Aha! Round one won by me.”
“Round one? So there’s going to be more rounds after this?”
“Of course! We’re friends now, right?”
Friends? Paris had never had an official ‘friend’ before. His only friends were his parents and personal guards at that time. It took him a moment to actually realize what Sophie had said to him.
“Uh, hello? Is Paris there?” Sophie clapped her paws in front of Paris’ face trying to get his attention.
The boy shook his head, and came back to consciousness. “Oh yeah!” He smiled. “I guess we’re friends now.”
        The girl smiled. “You sure?”
        “Positive.”
        “Friends till the end?”
        “Friends till the end.”

Chapter theme song: Edward Elgar Cello Concerto

        May 2, 1789
It’s been nine years since Sophie and the young prince first met. Throughout their years, they’ve grown to be best friends. Always having always taking care of one another, and never leaving each other behind. It’s more of a “partners in crime” at this point. As teenagers, the two were inseparable. They spent time out on the streets of Paris than being cooped up inside of Sophie’s household. Paris on the other hand has grown to be more outgoing in the outside world. He wasn’t afraid of others looking at him. Well, sometimes. He still needs to keep his guard up because of his parents might find out of him leaving the palace of Versailles.
“Hey Sophie! Said Paris, eager to do something. “What do you think about going outside for a bit to get something to eat? I’m starving!”
Sophie wasn’t sure. She’s noticed that Paris has been starting to feel excited about going outside and not staying inside where it’s safe. It’s almost unlike him. “You sure? I just want to make sure you’re safe.”
“Aw come on? It’s not like anyone around here knows who I am. Besides, I told my personal guard I’d be leaving.” He smiled. “He knows I leave, he’s like the brother I never had. He’ll keep my secret safe.”
Sophie grew anxious. “Ugh, fine. Only because I trust you…” She let out a soft smile.
“Sweet!” Cheered Paris. “Alright let’s get a move on!” Paris took off his cloak and placed it on Sophie’s bed.\
“You aren’t going to take your cloak?”
“Who needs that scrummy old thing?’
“Excuse me? But you need that scrummy old thing.”
“Excuse you? Almost everyone around here has seen me. They know me as ‘your cousin’ or ‘your friend’. I-It’s something along those line, but they won’t suspect a thing.”
“I can never win at an argument against you.” Mumbled Sophie. “Fine, have it your way… Mr ‘No one’s going to know me’.”
Paris covered his face with his menu, pretending not to listen.

After the argument, the two set off on their way to a local restaurant. Upon entering, they were immediately taken to a booth and given menus. The restaurant seemed to be packed with customers.
It's been a while since Sophie has been to this restaurant, a long while. More specifically, the last time she came was when she was around four years old. Food prices were different back then. Cheap meat and potatoes beyond the eye can see. Hyperinflation has taken it's toll on the country throughout the years. Nowadays you can't afford even a pound of meat, or even a sack of potatoes from the local farm.
Sophie looked around as she was seated, growing anxious as the sight of many strangers fogged up her mind. "Paris, I think we need to leave."
Paris didn't seem to mind the large amount of strangers in the restaurant. He seemed confused when Sophie stated that they should leave. "This is nothing, haha. We've been to busier places before." He laughed.
"Paris I'm serious." Sophie's voice sounded shaky. "I'm worried about you. I know this isn't new for you or anything, but I'm really afraid you'll be taken away."
One of the restaurant's waitresses came by the booth to take their order. The waitress looked like she was in her mid 40's, though her fur looked clean. "Hello and welcome!" The waitress said happily. "Can I get you two something to drink?"
"Hmm. I think I'll take a cup of black coffee." Said Paris, removing the menu from his face and placing it on the table.
"Sure thing si-" The waitress cut off what she was about to say. Instead, she looked at Paris' face, studying it for a few moments before she continued what she was about to say. "Ahh please excuse me, your majesty!"
        Sophie's heart dropped.
"I didn't know it was you until I noticed your gorgeous coat! There's no other gorgeous coat in the world like yours! It's one of a kind." The waitress yelled.
Her yelling seemed to catch the attention of everyone else in the restaurant. Eager to see what was happening, they all stood up and looked at Sophie's table. The restaurant soon drowned in screeches.

        "It's King Louis the Seventeenth!!"

Everyone in the restaurant began charging towards Paris, eager to meet him. Sophie was shoved out of the way and into the back.
"Sir Prince! Where have you been all of this time?"
"My future King! What will you do to change France's future?"
"A savior! You will be France's savior!"
"Promise us change! Promise us you'll be grand ruler!"
Paris was flooded with questions from the strangers. He grew anxious, and started to sweat a bit. "Please, Please! Move out of the way!" He regret not listening to Sophie. All he wanted to do now was to get to her and leave this horrid place. He never liked being put on the spot. Worse yet, he hated talking about him being France's future king. I guess you can say he didn't want to take the job.

Sophie began to tremble, she thought Paris was going to be taken away from her forever. All she wanted to do now was to get back to him, and never leave his side, making sure he was safe from harm's way.
The girl tried to get through the crowd but it was no use, they kept on pushing her back. Losing hope, she went to the front door to see if anyone was coming. Sophie began to cry. Two viscets with jet black helmets carrying large spears were rushing to the restaurant's front door. She knew who those helmets belonged to, the belonged to none other than the Palace of Versailles' guards. Someone might have spread the word about France's future king being here in this very restaurant.

The two guards rushed through the door, pushing Sophie out of the way. "Everyone, move aside!" Yelled one of them. "This is King Louis' guards!" They demanded to know where Paris was, and began to shove some of the strangers out of the way in order to get to their target.

"Get away from him!" Screeched Sophie as she charged towards one of the guards, tears running down her face. "Don't lay a finger on him!"
One of the guards began to push Sophie away. "You better calm down or else you're going to end up arrested too!"

        arrested...

That words rang in Sophie's ears. She knew what was going to happen to Paris. Not knowing what to do, she lost all hope. She fell into a pit of despair with know way on how to get out. She stood in the corner of the restaurant, watching the guards taking her only friend away from her, forever.

"Isn't that a shame..." Said a viscet. His voice sounded familiar. "Turns out he isn't your relative after all..."
Sophie looked up to see who it was, her face soaked in tears. The viscet had a bright red and orange coat, with a white glove marking. Although her vision was blurry, she knew exactly who this viscet was. It was Oro. "Tell me... were you the one who did this?" Her voice sounded shaky.
"Now now, let's not jump to conclusions..." Said Oro with a smirk on his face.
"Tell me the truth!" Growled Sophie, grabbing ahold of Oro so that he wouldn't escape.
        "Guards!"
The two guards rushed over to Oro's side, Paris tied up under them. One of the guards held Paris, while the other went to help Oro. He shoved Sophie away from him.
"It's nothing personal, Sophie. I'm just trying to make sure the future king is in check." He growled. "Wouldn't it be a shame if he was punished by his parents? Even worse, what if he's sent to the guillotine?" A smirk grew on his face. "Let's go boys! An award is waiting for me at the palace!" Then Oro exited the restaurant, his guards along with Paris followed him.

Chapter theme song: The Hebrides, Op. 26 by Mendelssohn

        May 5, 1789
It's been three days since Paris has been taken away from Sophie. Three days without her best friend, three days without anyone to talk to. With no sign of seeing her best friend soon, she began to lose hope.
Turns out, King Louis XVI has called an Estate Generals Meeting to discuss France's financial problems.
Maybe if I go, I can see him there... Sophie thought to herself. It wasn't that far of a walk either, only a couple of miles. She knew it was worth going for.

"Order! Order" Shouted one of the clergy. "The Estates General Meeting is now commencing!"
All of the voices in the room began to fade away. All of the attention was on the king himself.
Sophie was in the back of the room along with millions of other third estate members. She stood on her toes to see how many people showed up. Wow. She thought to herself. It's a full house...
All 100,000 of the first estate members along with all of the 400,000 second estate members were in the building. A couple of million out of the 27 million third estate members were in the building too. Sophie was amazing by how many heads she saw. Still standing on her toes she began to look around for Paris, she was deeply worried about him. At the front and center of the building stood King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette with Paris at her side. He was dressed up in his royal speckled robe and a diamond studded crown on his head, his paws tied up with rope, but his feet loose. Paris looked exhausted, he looked humiliated.

Paris... what did they do to you...?

"Now, let us begin." Said the king. "France has been stuck in a financial hole for decades, and has gotten no support from our allies. Now, the people of France. All I ask of you is your solutions to this problem What could get out beloved country out of this horrid situation?"
"I've got a solution!" Yelled someone from the back of the room. "What about our future?!"
"I second that!" Yelled another viscet beside him. Other viscets started to join in.
        "I also agree!"
"Yeah! What about our future? You promised us all of these things, but now what happened to them?"
The noise level in the building started to increase dramatically. It got to the point where Sophie couldn't even hear herself think.
"Order! Order!" Yelled a viscet on stage with the royal family. "Please, settle down!"
        The room grew quiet.
"Now, the king has something to say." The viscet stood aside and let the King speak.
"My dear citizens, of course I have promised you many things, and I can assure you that those promises will be fulfilled-"
"Oh yeah? What happened to voting my head and not by estate?!" Yelled a viscet from the back of the room. "Don't you remember the time you promised us that you'd be counting by head and not by estate?"
Other viscets agreed, and began to yell at the king.
The king grew furious. "Enough!" His screech was so loud the entire building turned to silence in an instant. "Before we could discuss any of that, we must talk about France's financial problems. Once we've figured that out, I can fulfill your needs."
The clergy viscet leaned into the King and whispered into his ear. The king's face looked more intrigued by this idea. "My citizens! One of my clergy members has just informed me of an astounding idea! We shall meet up again tomorrow in this very building to discuss France's current financial state, and our method of voting." Yelled the king. "Meeting dismissed!"

Viscets from the back of the room began to yell in anger, not finding the idea to be very useful.
"Is this some sort of excuse?"
        "Where's my future going?!"
        "You corrupt king!"
Knowing that they couldn't do anything, they left the building one by one to their homes. All of them, and if not more will return tomorrow and fight for their rights and equality throughout the three estates.

Sophie, on the other hand wanted to discuss her rights as a third estate member. Although Paris had clogged up her mind even more than discussing her rights. She wanted to make sure he was okay.
Standing up on her toes, she looked around for Paris, looking for his brightly colored coat. It was no use.

        I guess he's gone...

A tear rolled down her face. They really did put him in check... Just thinking about not being able to be with the one person she loved most devastated her.
Tears rolling down her face, she left a room. Although as she was setting foot outside, she noticed a bright pink tail tip from the corner of her eye. Sophie knew who it belonged to, there was no other viscet in the entire world with the same tail tip. It was Paris.
Eagerly wanting to see him, she turned around to see if he was still there. Paris was still there. He was sitting down in his throne, his mother in front of him. By the looks of it, Sophie thought the Queen was scolding him. Most likely for how he was seated the whole time and how he didn't stand up to say anything to calm the building down.
        Sophie couldn't believe her eyes.

I should have just kept in touch with him. I should have just put a little bit of pressure on him to listen to me...

        May 6, 1789
        "Hey! What's this?"
It was the day after the Estate Generals meeting. Supposedly, the king said today would be the day that he would listen to all of the third estate and their ideas for France's future, although now it's not quite what it seems.
        "The gates are locked!"
        "They locked us out!"
Turns out the king had locked out all of the third estate, except for the first and second estate from the meeting.
The outside of the building began to rupture into angry screeches. The commoners were not happy about what the king did to them.

"My citizens!" Yelled a masculine voice. "Please listen to me!"
Sophie lifted her ears up to hear who was speaking. The voiced sounded very familiar. She turned around to see who it was, and she couldn't believe her eyes.
        It was Paris.
"I know you're all very upset about what my father has done-"
"So it's your father who did this? This must mean you're the king's son!" Yelled a viscet from the crowd.
"What do you think will make us follow you? You're the exact same as your father!"
"No!" Growled Paris. "I am nothing like my father! I am nothing like that untrustworthy greedy man. A-And I can prove it to you!"
        "Oh yeah? How?!"
        "Sophie!"
Sophie looked up at her friend. She was amazed at what he had overcome.
Paris looked around the room to search for Sophie, but it was pretty easy to do so. Her magnificent crystals stood out from all of the other viscets' fur. A truly gorgeous sight. "Sophie! Please come and join me up on stage!"
Sophie was hesitant to do so, but she knew it was the only way to secure Paris' safety. "You're safe!"
As the girl made her way to the front of the stage she couldn't help but think about the fact that Paris was safe.
As she reached the front of the crowd she reached her arms around Paris and gave him a big hug, his well groomed thick coat between Sophie's fingers. "You're okay..."
Paris smiled, and reached his arms around Sophie. "Of course." He chuckled. "They couldn't have done anything to me."
"Just forget about them, I'm just glad you're okay." Said Sophie, giving Paris a small kiss on the cheek, but then drew away from him. "Uhh... I-I'm sorry, I-I didn't know what I was doing-"
        "Shh, you're okay." Paris smiled.

"Hey! This isn't some love show!" growled one of the viscets from the crowd. "How is she going to help our future?!"
Paris turned to face the crowd, his chest held up high. "This is Sophie Auguste! She will be your new leader of France!"
        The crowd grew confused.
Sophie grew anxious. "Paris, you know I'm not good with leadership..."
"Don't worry." He smiled. "I'll help you."
Sophie didn't know what to say. Instead, she just gave a determined nod to her friend, and faced the crowd. "Citizens of France! I know how much you all have been struggling throughout these past years, but I know in my heart we can pull through this!"
The crowd began to agree and cheer.
"My name is Sophie Auguste, and I will be your new leader!"
The other viscets cheered with joy.
"From now on, we shall no longer be called the Third Estate. From now on, we shall be called The National Assembly! We shall continue to meet until our demands have been met! And I promise you with every ounce of my power, that we shall gain the respect and equality we deserve! We will be the future of France!"
        The crowd erupted into cheer.

        July 14, 1789
A quiet midsummer morning in France; birds were chirping, little clouds in the sky, and you could even hear the gentle breeze of the wind flying past your face. How long would this gentle morning last for? Not for long, it would be stained with crimson and painted with corpses for the next couple of years.
The leaders of the Rebellion Sophie and Paris had decided that now was the time to fight back against the absolute monarchs, to fight back against Paris’ parents, the first ‘friends’ he knew. Although the prince knew in his heart it had to be done. He wanted France to flourish into a gorgeous rose and not wilt like a corpse. With that being said, his mind was made up.

Now’s the time to perfect the future.

Later in the midsummer afternoon, the two leaders had lead their followers to the front of a prison on the east side of the capital, more commonly known as the Bastille. Here is where they would find the supplies they strongly need in order to make the future they want to have. Little did the absolute monarchs know, that the rebels have a few tricks up their sleeves in taking out this monstrous building, and that their beloved child is with them. A truly unbelievable truth, wouldn’t you agree?

“This is what we stand for!” Shouted Paris, turning around along with Sophie to face his army of ten thousand or so men. “Our free future!” He raised a fist into the air. “Fight for it! Know what you’re worth! Your story will be told for many generations to come!”
The crowd began to cheer. For once they started to gain hope.
Paris, glowing with enthusiasm, turned to his partner hoping she would say something to the large crowd. “How about you give them a quick pep talk about the plan?”
Sophie looked Paris into the eye, unsure of what she was about to get herself into. “Look, this is important and everything but I don’t think I’m capable of doing this leader thing.” She explained. “You’re the one who was born into this leader thing. I think you should be the one leading it.”
“Don’t be a coward.” Said Paris jokingly. “Here, let me show you.” He then turned to face the large crowd of noisy viscets. “My dear citizens!” Shouted Paris to get their attention. “My partner Sophie has something to say!” He then grabbed Sophie and made her face the large crowd.
The female viscet began to grow nervous, her crystals gleaming in the afternoon light. Gee, you sure are helpful. She said to herself, and took a deep breath. “My brothers and sisters!” Shouted Sophie to the crowd, growing anxious by the moment. “We shall divide and conquer the bastille in destruction! We shall raid every bit of it for materials, and leave nothing behind!” She didn’t know what to say, so she just said the first ideas that popped into her mind.
Even though her speech was quite simple, the crowd still arose in cheer.
Paris smiled. “See, it wasn’t that bad.”
Sophie pouted. “Well thanks for putting me on blast.”
        “Learn from me young grasshopper…”

The two leaders then gave specific details on how to invade the bastille. Their main motive was divide and conquer: surround an area and take it out, and do so for the remaining areas of the bastille. No one has ever seen this special tactic, so the country was really in for a surprise.

"And charge!' Yelled Sophie and Paris as they lead their followers into the bastille, swarming everything as far as the eye can see.
The prison was loaded with prison guards. Although they were merely equipped, and were an easy target to kill. There were seven or so odd prisoners in the building, and were immediately released and forced to become members of National Assembly. Surprisingly, they all agreed to join, and helped with the destruction of the prison. Later on the troops began to raid the bastille, taking everything in their path and making sure to leave nothing behind. Some of them even began bringing in catapults to destroy the bastille so that no evidence would be left behind. In the end, not so many fatalities were reported, some thousand or so men had perished. Even though that’s a small number of death, it had destroyed Sophie's heart; it had sickened her to her stomach, but she knew that would be the price she had to pay to get what she wanted, and to get what everyone else wanted. Overall, the National Assembly had stole thousands of weapons and materials to help them on their rebellious journey to find peace.

        October 5, 1789
Three months after the storming of the bastille. Three months of fatalities. Three months of victories.
The March on Versailles, was one of the most important events of the French Revolution. The march consisted of women in the marketplaces of the city of Paris who were upset about the high price of bread. They didn't have enough money to afford bread. They didn't have enough money to feed their families. Sophie was put in charge of this, and gathered a mod of thousands of women. They gathered weapons and armor and marched to the Palace of Versailles. Once the women were outside of the palace, they demanded the king and queen to give up all of their bread to them. It was no use. Instead, they hid deep in the palace attempting to escape the mob of women. The women outside didn't like this idea, and stormed into the Palace, searching everywhere they could until they got their hands on the monarchs. After a while of searching, they were successful. The women brought out the king and queen of the palace and presented them to their leader, Sophie.
"You two are awaiting trial in the capital." Said Sophie.
The king and queen grew anxious, wondering what they were going to be sentenced to.

Chapter theme song: Quiet Resource by Evelyn Stein

        October 5, 1789
The afternoon of the March on Versailles. The king and queen have been captured by Sophie's army of market women. Their demands have been met. The monarchs brought wagons and wagons of flour with them in order to calm down the mob, and surprisingly it worked.
"To the capital!" Announced Sophie, telling her followers to take the monarchs and flour back to the city where they will be tried for treason. The crime of betraying one's country, an unforgivable crime that will always stick to Sophie's mind.

        Never again...

        I promise...

All of you will have the guardian angle you deserve...

        "This way, madam..."
Sophie's blood was boiling, she couldn't wait for the trial. This would be the last day she would see her followers suffer. The last time for a corrupt government. The last moment of his reign.
The National Assembly organized themselves into the capital's main courtyard. A flat piece of land filled with gravel and small shrubs. There were no trees in sight, and only tall buildings in the horizon.
At the front of the courtyard was a large wooden deck, with a desk and a guillotine. The deadly machine with a tall upright frame had a heavy blade raised and held to the top that would behead anyone who laid in its path once released.
Two viscets on the deck held the king and queen by their paws, firmly grasping them so that they wouldn't escape.

The National Assembly grew quiet allowing the head judge to speak.
"Greetings to all." Said the head judge. "We are gathered here today to decide on wether or not the current king and queen of France should be tried for treason..."
"They should!" Yelled a viscet from the crowd.
        "Behead them!"
        "Isn't this enough proof?!"
"Order! Settle down!" The judge was irritated. "I agree with you all, I understand that these fools have treated us like rubbish in the past. And because of that, I sentence them both to death by guillotine."
        The crowd erupted into cheers.
The king himself started to beak a sweat. "But that isn't how a trial is supposed to be held!"
"I second that! I demand a fair and just trial!" The queen joined in.
"My apologies." Chuckled the judge. "That's how we felt when you locked us out in the Estate Generals meeting. Now that wasn't fair and just, was it?"
The two viscets who held the king and queen gripped them even harder than before. If they escape now, it'll be all over.
They stepped the monarchs aside to the guillotine, and wrapped their wrists and ankles together assuring they weren't going anywhere but here.

"My dear leader!" Announced the judge. "Please, come up to the stage with your partner, to celebrate this glorious time in our history!"
        The crowd cheered even more.
Sophie was in the front of the crowd with Paris when she heard the announcement. A burst of determination ran through her veins, her heart pulsing with excitement.
She looked over to Paris. "Now's out chance. Now's the time to end all of this once and for all."
Paris looked back at Sophie, and placed his paw in hers. "With you, anything."
The two partners then made their way up on the deck, both handed a knife as they reached the final step.
The judge walked over to them with a warm smile on his face. "Make us proud."
Sophie looked at the knife in her hand, and nodded. Paris did the same.
The king and queen were placed belly down on the guillotine, their head right under the blade.

(now you might be thinking: "What kind of story is this?"
Well, the french revolution was pretty bloody. The people of France at that time really hated King Louis XVI and the decisions that he made. Heck, even after the beheading of them the country went into a killing spree of some sort that accused everyone of being a traitor. It wasn't a happy ending.)

Sophie and Paris walked over to the monarchs. Sophie with the queen, and Paris with his father.
Sophie didn't want to talk to the king. All she wanted to do was end him once and for all.
Paris, on the other hand was hesitant to end his mother. But he knew it was what he had to do.

        "Off with their heads!"

And with that, Sophie and Paris released the blade from the guillotine, and watched it fall until it had reached the necks of the king and queen, the deck painted in crimson.

The crowd burst into cheers, finally happy that they will be promised everything they have been promised before in the past.
"Please welcome our new dear leaders! Queen Sophie and King Paris!”

        But was that the end...?

        June 2, 1792
It’s been almost three years since Sophie and Paris had become King and Queen of France.
Many reforms have been made to please the citizens of their country.
For instance, they’ve adopted a limited monarch government instead of an absolute one. This will keep the two from having too much power, and will make them share part of their power with a prime minister.
The estates system has been demolished, everyone is considered equal an no one will have more special privileges than another individual.
As of France’s financial issues, it’s going along smoothly. France has made some new allies with its bordering nations that have promised to send them money in exchange for other miscellaneous items.

        Life was...

        perfect

Better yet, Sophie and Paris have settled down together. They decided to get married, and even start a family.
It was on this day, that Sophie had announced she was expecting a child.
A noble child who would carry on the legacy of the revolution.
But, would it be like that?

With excitement, Paris wanted to spread the news of the new Prince. He decided on taking Sophie out on a car ride in the capital.
Sophie, feeling excited as well, decided to agree on this fabulous idea.
A couple of hours later into the afternoon, they got loaded on to the carriage. A palace guard driving them.
On their way out of Versailles, Paris proposed the idea of not having any guards travel with them. He just wanted it to be Sophie and him.
On the other hand, Sophie thought it was a ridiculous idea. Knowing that there are still traitors out there made her feel unsafe. Plus with her egg inside of her, she felt less safe.
Paris smiled, and said that everything would be okay because he’s with her.
Sophie was hesitant, but agreed in the end She trusted Paris with every ounce of her being.

It was the worst decision she ever made.

Once they arrived in the capital, there were immediately greeted by other viscets who praised them for saving their lives.
The two were pleased to see how many people came to see them. It was truly an astonishing sight, knowing that you had made a difference in someone’s life. The king and queen couldn’t have been any happier.
Although as they were driving around the capital, more and more viscets kept on coming out to see them. Soon enough, their carriage was flooded with civilians. Viscets as far as the eye can see.
It was quite loud too, no one could here themselves think.
        “My saviors!”
        “What a splendid day!”
“A child! The child will bring us eternal life!”
        So the citizens thought.

It got to the point where the carriage was immobile. The palace guard attempted to get out of the mob, but it was no use.
With no protection, and a whole mob surrounding them, the royal family truly felt exposed.

        Boom

        Gunfire.
A single bullet flew though the air, and hit Sophie straight in her chest.
All of the citizens ducked down as soon as the gun was fired to getting injured.
Paris, alarmed by what had happened, turned around to see if Sophie was okay.
A single bullet had struck her in her chest, and made it to her heart.
Surprisingly, she was still conscious, breathing heavily, and looking straight into her wound.
Paris put his arms around his wife, realizing the mistake he had made. “Who did this?!” He screamed, looking up at the crowd around him.
A lone viscet stood up, his vibrant red and orange coat sticking out from the rest of the crowd’s.
Paris knew exactly who that coat belonged to.

        “Oro!”

“What a shame...” said Oro, reacting calmly. “You know, your father didn’t like what you did to him...”
Paris burst into tears, and laid Sophie down. “You ignorant traitor!” He growled. “I’ll kill you!”
And with that, Paris lunged at Oro, his claws digging into his skin.

        You will never be forgiven!

        ────────────────────────────────────────

My mind, black and white, vision failing me. Everything was a blur. Black figures came to my side, but others left aside. My pulse began to slow down by the moment, the atmosphere getting colder by the second. It felt like an entirely new world at this point; with no one by my side. All I could think about was Paris and the child. Our future together, shattered by my murder. I became limp, no longer moving. Growing weak, I closed my eyes; not being able to open them any more. With that, I exhaled my last breath, cold as snow.

Love lives on inside our hearts and always will, I thought to myself as I laid on the cold black concrete. Everything I once knew was now fading away from me, forever.

We'll hear our song and know once more, Our love lives on

        ────────────────────────────────────────

"Never seek to tell thy love,
        Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind doth move
        Silently, invisibly.

I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart,
        Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears.
        Ah! she did depart!

Soon after she was gone from me,
        A traveller came by,
        Silently, invisibly:
He took her with a sigh." - William Blake

        Paris
Paris was Sophie's first best friend when they met back when they were fifteen years of age. Throughout the years of the revolution the two were inseparable, always spending every moment together. Paris has risked his own life for escaping the Palace of Versailles just to see her day after day. It was friends forever at first sight, but now it's true love. When Sophie announced that she was expecting a child, Paris couldn't have been any happier. But now that Sophie's gone, Paris isn't at rest. He spends his days now alone in the Palace with his daughter, remembering the fun times he had with Sophie, unable to cope with the fact that she will never return. Minutes turn to hours, days to years then gone. He gets lonely without her. It's been years since the last time he's seen his queen. Love lives on inside our hearts and always will. He sings a song to his daughter, so that maybe one day she'll turn out to be a fine leader just like how her mother was.

        Oro
A noble born in the second estate, has followed in King Louis' paw prints ever since he was a little boy. He was hoping to become one of the most powerful viscets in all of France by following the absolute monarch's ways. Heck, he was even hoping to be king once Paris was obliterated. From a young age Sophie has grown hatred for him. Oro has always treated her badly since she was in the third estate. During the revolution Sophie has grown in power, and has always wanted to get rid of him once in for all when the time was right. Now it's the opposite. He's Sophie's murder. A devilish soul who's greedy for power; he'll do anything just to get his paws on it. The brightly colored viscet now spends his days in the Palace Dungeon, awaiting trial and punishment for his crime. An unforgivable crime that will stick to his name forever.

The key to a just society, has now met her end.
May the citizens of France forever keep her
in their minds. May her story never be put
to rest, but instead be told to the new
generations of her fine kingdom.

─────────────────────────────

What to expect?
I'm actually planning on writing more for her
story. Most likely about her spiritual life, a
whole new experience for her with many
new viscets to meet. Will she resurrect from
the spiritual world, and come above ground
to meet her love and daughter once more?
We'll see if this is so soon enough. For now,
what will King Paris do as a rebellion leader
with his daughter by his side, but no partner?

─────────────────────────────

All viscets used for relationships are owned by me.
I'd like to give a special shoutout to everyone who
helped motivate me to get this done. I was hesitant
to do so, but I managed to get it done, haha.
This is my biggest tryout form to date, and I'm
super excited about it !!
Art is by me. c:

This story was pretty much based off of the
French Revolution. Ever since I learned about
this moment in world history, I fell in love
with it. I've always wanted to write some sort
of story based off of it, and here it is!

Thank you for the chance, and thank you to
everyone else who put me on my feet to
actually start this little project. <3

good luck to all!

Total story word count:
8,217 words
