The pack of Stinging Wind
Number of Dogs: 2

As the mountain territory was left abandoned for the most part until spring shows its face, it became somewhat easier to patrol the border due to the easier, flatter terrain. As such, Canis was already back and pacing, spinning in circles when Lupus returned with her pathetic catch, trying to warm up yet also excited. Lupus snarled at him, dropping the mouse and dropping down next to it to munch it down for whatever it was worth. "What's got you so riled up?" She groaned, having enough of that constant clicking of claws on stone.
"While on patrol, I caught the scent of a dog in the territory." Canis growled fiercely, his tail giving a few wags. Excitement twinkled in his eyes like trapped stars. Lupus immediately jumped up, snapping her jaws at him and swallowing the rest of the mangled mouse. "You should have told me sooner, snowbrain!" She rushed out, the newfoundland male following close behind and soon taking the lead as he had to lead the alpha to where had found the traces of dog. The two, while not scent hounds, played that part as well as they could, following the fading scent.

"who are you?" a rough voice jolted him from his light slumber, and he jumped up, teeth bared. the red retriever stepped back, narrowing her eyes. "jeez, i was just asking." she muttered, glaring at rusty. rusty relaxed, sitting down. "my name is rusty, and i am the alpha of the kennel of obsidian stars." the retreiver sniffed the air and looked around. "where's your kennel, then?" when rusty didn't respond, the retriever roared with laughter. "you don't have one!" she cried, rolling around on the ground. "well, if you join me, we might be able to create one." her eyes flew open and she stiffened, fluidly getting to her feet. "what?" she asked, scanning rusty's face. "i said, we'll create a kennel." her eyes narrowed. "and why should i do that?" she barked, hackles rising. "because i think you'd be a great beta." she flattened her ears. "what?" rusty's ears flicked with annoyance. "do i have to repeat everything i say?" he growled, standing up. the retriever unconsciously stepped back, then came closer. "fine. but on one condition. we take in anyone, no matter who they are." it was an odd request, but it seemed benevolent enough, so rusty dipped his head in agreement. the retriever locked eyes with rusty and grinned. "i'm katja." rusty grinned back. "rusty. now, shall we see if there's anyone to take in?" he said, voice filling with mirth. katja laughed and took off, rusty running after her.

The older male chuckled, “He’s pretty good now.” he agreed, “And maybe with the three of us we can catch something a little bigger."

Bronco rose quickly from his slumber happiness twinkling in his eyes as he bound around camp, snow up to his ankles, until Cho-Lynn and Lucky woke up and came into the clearing. With a warm welcome, he asked Cho-Lynn if she wanted to go hunt with him. Appreciating the contagiousness of his joy, Cho-Lynn whole-heartedly agreed and all three left, Lucky splitting from the other two to go fill his herb stock.

SILVERSKIES PACK

THE PACK
They are lean and agile. Long legs and thick coats. Border collies or BC mixes. They have boundless energy and are great cooperative hunters.

BIRTHING
Any time of the year, a litter of 4-6 puppies are born and the whole pack looks after the nursing bitches. At 6 moons old, the become tender paws. At 12 moons old, they become ironclaws or omegas. They must each take down a boar if they wish to become ironclaws.

LOOKS
Normally BC or BC mixes. But generally any herding dog, as they need the boundless energy crucial to thier existence. They come in any colour. (Could mine please be a brown Merle?)

DEATH
After death, the pack mate is carried by a close family member that buries the deadened in a family graveyard.

The Polar kennel is located in a snowy area with long furred dogs such as collies and Aussies, and other dogs like a German Shepherds, Huskies, etc.
These dogs are actually very vicious to enemies. They are a very tight-knit community.
