I am done with school for the year and I did pretty well this semester

- I made Christmas ornaments for my art professor and neighbors. These are the only things I've created that I can definitively say I am proud of. They look professional and I'm excited to give them away.
- I need sleep today but I've been motivated for so much. I feel good. I feel well. I've been accomplishing things I love and I have the ability to continue to.
- My art professor has often said that the process of creating an artwork can be just as important for an artist as the finished product, if not more so. I realized that this applies to me and my writing. I thought of quitting it because it couldn't be published. When considering writing it for myself, I thought of quitting it because if it isn't publishing material, it isn't worth it. However, the value of this silly story is not truly in the finished paragraph, nor sentence, nor even the finished word. It's in the process of stringing them together and what that does for me. It's in how my working affects me. The point is to write, not to finish writing. That single realization is the most important conclusion I've come to since I started the first page. That's what I should have meant in the past by "I will write for myself," and it's what I mean now.
- Best lecturer ever for so many reasons. I want to find a way to keep her in my life after the semester ends. If only she could be my adoptive grandmother.
- Seeing my dear friend could be a sooner reality than I ever would have expected. I'm certain I should pass out.
- I'm getting serious about learning French next week!
- I'm going to try an artistic method that's completely unlike anything in class and show it to my art professor! I'll probably give it to her if it comes out well. Best of all, it will be fun. I'll need much more nail polish and a giant tub.
