Rhen stalked through the dark forests, looking for something small to prey on. She sniffed the air, smelling a few small creatures, trying frantically to dig into the ground. She heard a rustle, and darted forward, grasping something in a pile of leaves with her pale hands. It was a baby chipmunk. There was a whole litter of them, and Rhen drained them all. They were filling, but Rhen longed for the days when humans were her main meal. They were so delicious with their sweet, tangy blood. She had to smack herself to get the thoughts out of her head. She continued into the night, smelling the air for predators now, instead of prey.
