With moulding chocolate, I bought some in colours brown and white. Is the white able to be coloured with food colouring? Or won't it work with moulding chocolate?

I have a question. c:
I'm making something on top of my cake, and it's going to be very hard to make o.o And quite impossible with cake. Could I use rice crispy treats to mold it, then ice it? [I've seen this a million times on cake shows xD]
Does anyone have any other suggestions for making an object with?

Decorations are just required to be editable so rice krispies are fine.

You can also try marzipan, gumpaste, or fondent to try and mold things.
