- COMMANDER ACACIA
Centuries have passed since humanity lost the Great War for the surface against the ruthless race known as the Hellborn. Humankind now lives deep underground, in their final stronghold named Darkhaven. Memories of life under an open sky are distant tales passed down by elders through the generations.
Darkhaven is protected by a magical barrier that human ancestors created. Although it locked the humans underground, it also kept the demons out. At least, it used to.
Two weeks ago, a brigade of the Hellborn breached the weakening barrier. Humanity's last hope was nearly extinguished once and for all. The army was decimated, every capable adult slaughtered mercilessly, cut down like they were nothing.
Humankind would have perished if not for one woman's final stand. Despite being mortally wounded, Commander Acacia Jin did not stop fighting. Once the enemy had fallen, it is said she smiled for the first time before finally expiring.
Although humanity won that battle, they were left nearly defenseless. All who remain are the children, the elders, and humanity's last hope... the teenagers.
When the Commander perished, her willpower did not. Acacia's burning resolve lives on in these teenagers, but not in its original form. These young warriors have begun to develop powers, known by the elders as the Gifts of Acacia.
With these powers, humanity finally has a means of fighting back. Humans cannot yet pass through the barrier, but there must be a way. Will the survivors of Darkhaven finally see sunlight for the first time in centuries?
