Sanctuary (Wild Horse RP) - Discussion V.2

@laurara; i didn’t mean to say that i’d create a stallion just to do better than levi, but just 1. make it fair and 2. avoid messing up alfie’s herd if i wanted to partake in the drama (since there’s already so much going on in his herd)
i apologize for that and i think i’ve actually decided against it already for the sake of laziness and low dedication. :(

i believe i have to change up rome’s (i believe it’s her, but i could be wrong) history since she’s been wild her entire life (but on a reserve/sanctuary type thing) so also around people occasionally. if i have to change her history, i will as soon as i get to a computer and can make sure my coding is right.

next, i just want to apologize to both you, laurara and you, scarlit for causing stress. i’m sure i’ve contributed to it and like bluebird. said, i hope people understand and sanctuary gets under control and becomes fun for you both once again.

Thanks, though, I think the reason why Laurara mentioned your last post about creating another stallion was to point out that the entire reason you have to make a stallion who can hold his ground is because a lot of people have old, wild horses that make it unfair on the rest, not that you'd make one just to be better than Levi.
This roleplay should really be focused on the horses that were human owned having to learn how to live in a world without them. When people make wild horses, suddenly that human-owned stallion you made can easily have his herd stolen from him even if he's in his prime. This may very well make you want to create another stallion that was born wild or change your stallion so he was wild just so you have a stallion that can actually have a chance at defending his herd and live happily with his mares. This, in a way, makes the roleplay more wild horse oriented instead of being focused on the horses it should really be about - the ones who were born with humans and escaped them and now have to learn to survive.
I made Riot initially because I thought 'hey, story about humans disappearing and horses escaping? Cool, should be a level playing field for the stallions, I'll go ahead and make mine a famous show horse. And, I'll have him be in his prime so he has a chance at keeping his mares unlike a 5 year old stally, the age also makes it more realistic for him to have gained all those accomplishments'. Then what do you know, people made wild horses and suddenly Riot is one of the weaker horses in the roleplay. This, in turn, in v2 made me make Anubis, a wild stallion, just so that he'd have a chance at keeping his mares from the other wild horses if they challenged him.
I'm sure a lot of other people did what I did too, or something similar to it and that's a problem that needed to be fixed and now we're fixing it. I'm hoping these changes make the roleplay more enjoyable.

I’m working on changing my characters histories(I’ve already been working on Ruffian’s).

I’m going to have Enola step down from lead. Anyone else in Alfie’s herd may be lead. I might change her personality a bit, make her less dominant.
I’m not doing anything to change her age though, because I never meant to keep her as a character for very long.

Ohanzee will remain as Riff’s lead mare though.

I’m so sorry to hear that this rp has caused you(Laurara) so much stress. I have anxiety too so I can understand how you’re feeling.
I’m very sorry if I’ve ever caused you any stress with my inactivity or for other reasons.

I totally understand your decision, Laura. I just wanted to admit that here and now, I’ve been contemplating on leaving the roleplay because of all this drama. I come home from my college classes, work, stressing over my lessons to excel in my riding career, and to worry about my mother who’s going through a ton of health issues right now. I come onto CS to distract my mind and get myself away from drama, and Sanctuary was great when I first joined, but now i’ve just seen so many unfair occurances, it honestly stresses me out.

Anyways, since I have Cheyenne and Ambrosia both as lead mares, I’ll let Witch have lead, unless someone comes along.

Now I’m really stuck. My two mares Rev and Demeter are both leads (or at least Demeter thinks she is.)

Who should I get to step down? Rev I’ve been playing for ages now, and she has been Riot’s lead for a few years.

Demeter is naturally dominant, and her character would never submit to any of the other mares even within an inch of her life.

Should I have Rev step down or kill off Demeter?

Another solution (if it’s ok with you, Laur) is that Demmy dies foaling her colt Monte and I have someone in Nubie’s herd adopt him.


Any thoughts?
I’m off to go change my chars history. (I think that all of them were born in the wild. I just have a thing for all-wild horses xc)

If I have EVER been unfair/cheated to you it any of your characters, let me say from the bottom of my heart that I am so, SO incredibly sorry. I never mean to do anything like that, but sometimes it just kinda happens because from the moment I attach a picture to a name, I am hopelessly entangled and attached to any of my characters. I love them to bits, and I can understand that at times I may have become a little defensive with them.

None of my babies actually HAVE histories except for Demeter who had one sentence in her personality that was something along the lines of ‘Demeter was raised in the wild by her dam blah blah blah

Sorry to hear you were on the brink of leaving! Hopefully these new rules help greatly subdue the OOC drama.

To anyone, if something in the roleplay really bothers you, if you feel something is unfair or that someone is being unfair to others or anything of the sort, please, do not hesitate to message either or both Laurara and I! We're here to help and to try and make the roleplay as fun and enjoyable as possible for everyone.

I suppose there's no way to change Demeter's personality even a bit? Maybe just kind of make her a different horse entirely with a new name if that helps? Anyways, Monte Carlo is super duper cute and I want him to live dangit! You'll have to check with Laurara though to see if it's alright to keep Demeter alive to give birth and maybe to see if you can fast forward her due date from late summer to early summer.
I think a basic history would be preferred. Doesn't have to be super detailed, just a little sentence like 'born with humans and was a halter show horse and then became a broodmare' or 'born with humans and was trained and used as a trail horse' would be nice if you could. ^^

dont stress... your not the only one who while loves sanctuary has considered leaving. There is just as much drama in the discussion as the thread... I personally want to leave my boy so out of levis plans as I'm not on enough and that will slow Levi down, on top of that not interested in 'that' much drama... I'll try to post later guys...


I'm also thinking of cutting numbers... not sure if I want to keep Dajarin, I'll probably have Delgado take his mares and kill arin off... and need to decide which mares I really don't want... probably less active ones like prim.
Cassy and pandora are not going anywhere, they are staying, will have a look later to who I want to get rid off.

do i have to change Dante's history? I've planned him to be killed by Levi so..

Making a major cut with my characters, killing off a few of them and making a few new ones that'll fit with these rules.

Raine (she spent half her life with Little Creek/the American Indians)
Blade and Champion (they're both Warrior and Soldier's foals, so does that count? Do I have to bump their age down?)
Zeus (born into role play)

characters I probably have to change/question:
Soldier - do I really have to change his history? I know he was born in the wild, but he's pretty placid and won't threaten anyone else unless he is pressured/attacked. normally I'd be fine with changing his history, but it's just that I've got this whole thing with Warrior and their foals, which, to follow my storyline, would involve aging him (which I don't want to do).

Demeter is the lead of Anubis's herd, right? well, I was planning on having Warrior become lead at some point. it was going to be later on, and I was going to pm you about it. but, it could happen soon-ish in the role play and that way Demeter could step down/lose the battle?
