Daniel and Fiona's mm and dad work for an 'evil' corporation that wants to do bd things to the species on this other planet (i.e. sell them to zoo's, use their bodies for medical experiments, etc.)
But their parents don't know that's what the corporation wans to do or maybe one of them does but the other doesn't?
i think when daniel and sara find the portal they should go in and play around ot realizing at first where they are. Then maybe they tell their parents something or imply something and the parents igure out what has happened s they find the portal and go in.

Wait, wait. What do you mean? Their parents are already on the other planet, right? All portals are one-way. A portal only appears (approximately) every ten years.

i think instead of being that it appears only once every so _____, we should just have it be in specific places. like maybe there are portals in 5 forests all over the world or.. idk.. hmm. there are so many ways it can go

For the portals, or for the plot in general? I don't quite understand your idea of five forests...
ugh idk either lol. it's not so much that i want specifically 5 or that it has to be forests, it's more like i am trying to think of a way that it can be a rare thing to find but not tooooo rare. not like it's the only one in the whole world and they just happen to live 5 miles away from it.. i kind of want daniel and sara to be able to travel back and forth between the worlds though. Also, if we were to say the portals are just hidden and daniel and sara find them, are they like at a park and find it? or is it in daniel's backyard? ??

The portal was in his locker. Maybe three portals appear all at once in random places every three years? Also, it kind of defeats the purpose if the portal goes both ways. Then they could just go back and forth and say, "HEY RYAN COME LOOK AT THIS" :LOOK WE FOUND A PORTAL" they kind of have to be stuck. They have to save the world before Curel (only person skilled enough to open a portal) will open a portal for them. At least, that's what I'm thinking.I'm open to better suggestions.
