The kittypet looked up and purred slightly when a cat came up to them, she looked like a older cat, but not that much older than himself. "Hi! I'm Squirrel, what's your name?" The ginger tom purred friendly as he sat down and waited for her response.

"Oh, uh, I'm Snowpaw." she mewed, taken aback slightly at Squirrel's purring enthusiasm. She sat down as well, curling her fluffy tail around her paws. Snowpaw glanced between Squirrel and Brambleleaf questioningly, "Are you here to join the clan?".

"Snowpaw? That's a weird name like Bramblelea! What does your name mean?" The tom asked before listening to her question. "Me? I don't know. Is there a way to join but still go to my old home?"

Quietheart - She-cat - 29 Moons - Warrior - Apprentice: Flamepaw - Crush: None Yet - Tags: Patrol
Quietheart followed behind Frostpaw as the patrol made their way out of camp and into the forest. The she-cat spread out to the side and in the back some so she could have a better view of the patrol. It felt nice to get out of camp and to be on a patrol with the Thornstar and take some of the apprentices with help from Mintblaze. Quietheart's green gaze slide over to the grey tabby tom and slipped into her own thoughts as she followed.

Snowpaw - Female - 11 moons - Location: in camp - Tag: Brambleleaf, Squirrel

Snowpaw flattened her ears self-consciously at the kittypet's remark that her name was weird. "Well my mom told me once that snow is white and fluffy," she flicked her tail as if to point towards her whole body, "and so is my fur. I don't have my full name like Brambleleaf yet since I'm still an apprentice." The image of Brambleleaf as a small apprentice running around with a mouthful of herbs sent an amused purr rumbling through her. "All apprentices have 'paw' as a placeholder." she added as an afterthought.

Snowpaw hummed in thought at Squirrel's second question before shaking her head no. "I don't think? Everyone lives here and I've never heard anyone talk about cats who used to leave and come back all the time." She wondered how that would work. Would the cat only be around in the daytime and leave once the moon rose? Or would they only be around every other day or even every other moon perhaps? "I don't think many cats would like that though."

"Ohh, my name is Squirrel because my mom said I looked like a fuzzy squirrel!" He purred as he then listened to what she was saying. "That sounds complicated." The tom said regarding the naming situation, "when do you know if you get your 'full name'?" The young cat asked before listening to her opinion on it. "Maybe I'll be the first!" Squirrel purred again as he puffed his chest up and lifted his head high with pride of possibly doing something that no one else has before.

Snowpaw - Female - 11 moons - Location: in camp - Tag: Brambleleaf, Squirrel

Snowpaw thought for a moment. "Well, apprentices get assigned a mentor to teach them. Once your mentor has taught you everything they know and thinks you're ready, they'll meet with the leader to approve an assessment as a final test of all your skills. Then if they're satisfied with your result they'll tell the leader that you're ready to be a full warrior! There's a ceremony where the leader gives you your full warrior name and then you have to do a silent vigil and watch over the clan for the night." Her thoughts drifted to her own mentor and training, wondering when her assessment would be and what her warrior name might be. Most cats were finished training after six moons and she was nearing the end of the sixth moon of her own training. "Oh! It's different for medicine cats, like Brambleleaf, though. They have different training and requirement junk but they're still a mentor-apprentice pair for teaching. They speak with our ancestors and know healing herbs for sickness and wounds."

The tom listened closely before doing a small purr. "Wow! That's so cool!" When Snowpaw had mentioned what Brambleleaf did, his eyes widen even more. "Really?" The ginger cat asked in wonder as he looked back at the older tom.

♔ "Snowpaw, it's good to see you," the tom nodded. He listened as the two conversed, nodding every once in a while at what the others said. "Yup. Medicine cat training is very different, and it can sometimes take longer or shorter to get your full name. I was thirteen moons old when I got my full name. But it was all very rewarding because now I get to save the lives of my clanmates."

♔ The apprentice followed her clan leader out of the safe confines of the camp. She was so full of energy she could almost run around he border three times! Well, she supposed she was exaggerating a bit, but her energy seemed limitless nonetheless.

"That's incredible!" The tom purred as he looked between the two. "Would I get to train to be a warrior or Medicine Cat?" The ginger cat asked hopefully, he thought this all sounded so cool and amazing.
