Hollowback Pack

Pack Traditions/Lore:
This pack has heavy expectations; cooperation is first on their list and a lot of the pack is based upon how well a group or pair of wolves can cooperate. Their system of separating in groups during winter is the primary test of cooperation between wolves; or, for some, it's merely an activity to complete. Contrary to most groups, this pack doesn't focus on strengths or weaknesses between wolves; each wolf is equal in their eyes and, according to the founding alphas, each wolf is nothing but equal given they work together. This goes to say; ranks aren't as strict as what they could be. The primary example being that the omega isn't exactly treated lower than other wolves; the omega rank is more of a 'training' rank than anything. To this pack, a rank is merely a placement based on familial status or the wolf's own wishes. Regarding omegas, they are valued; they aren't treated higher than anyone else, but the founding alphas always thought of omegas as the link of unity. Everything that a pack needs to stay balanced.
The intention of this pack is not to come off as aggressive or powerful, merely united. Wolves in this pack are expected to act coordinated and proper, almost 'stoic' if you'd like.
Pack Structure:
The structure of the pack is built off of cooperation and climbing the ladder as an equal. The alphas, founding or not, should be lenient and prepared to perform punishments in the form of growth. Punishment isn't really punishment, if we're being honest here. A lot of the punishment is just extra training and more lessons within cooperation.
The group is rather opening to newcomers and wouldn't hesitate with accepting a new member; given that the member can prove their self.

Wolves: Soo and Yule


With it being a bright day, Soo was undoubtedly ready to go out for a patrol in the territory that she had claimed with her partner. The dark female shook herself from her slumber, standing and stretching before scanning around the dim lighting of the den to land on the sleeping mass that was her mate. Curling her lips up and snickering a little, she decided to trot over and nudge his head with her own. He barely rustled and she briefly contemplated why she had chosen this lazy male as her mate. She was joking, of course.

"Get up, you lazy log. We don't have any time to waste." she said softly, nose pressed against his ear. Soo grumbled a bit before cracking open his dark eyes, staring at her with a gaze as threatening as a whelp's. The female wrinkled her nose at her partner's expression before stepping over him, only stopping to tilt her head at him before climbing out of the hollowed tree.

Yule ended up following in pursuit of his partner, mumbling about being tired and not wanting to leave the comfort of the den. Alas, even with being tired he knew the importance of patrols and what they needed to do. With narrowed eyes, he sulked after his active mate. It wasn't long before he was perking up himself, raising his head and being more alert about his surroundings while Soo actively explored every nook and cranny they ended up passing by. Both leaders ended up unintentionally running along the eastern part of their territory, where the lesser amount of streams were.

Wolves: Soo and Yule


Yule sniffed a patch of grass, nose just barely brushing against a couple of blades while he tried to see if there was anything unusual to be picked up on. Thankfully, there wasn't anything. Until he lifted his head up. Yule took a tiny inhale of the air and felt his eyes widen and tail slowly start to raise, body overcomed with a quiet wave of shock. Was that elk that he could smell? The very thought of the prey made his mouth water, ears swiveling around as he considered just how hungry he was. Yule cast a glance over to his partner, Soo, standing not too far off from him. Her eyes met him and he gave a mere nod.

It wasn't long before they were both tracking the scent, joined at the hip while trotting through their territory. Sometimes one would veer off, getting a stronger trace of the scent from somewhere else and the other would follow. It wasn't long before they were being met with a clearing in some part of the woods that surrounded the field, a lone elk brooding in the sun. Yule stared at the sun that highlighted the elk's fur, a dazzling and attractive brown in the light. Jutting his tongue out slightly, he cast a glance over towards Soo standing next to him. The elk was probably injured somehow, or maybe old; probably the latter, considering there wasn't any trace of some sort of illness or injury in the scent.

"Take the left, I'll go on the right. I'm going to startle it towards you, you drag it down and then we can both finish it quickly." Soo said softly, locking eyes with Yule to confirm the plan. It was all a go.

Neither wolf would have much trouble slinking through the shadows to surround their prey, their dark pelts helping them blend in greatly with the minimal light. Yule settled down next to a bush in the darkness, eyes glowing almost while he stared at the elk. Crouched down, it took him a moment to pick up his mate but he noticed her staring at him from an almost perfect opposition. They locked eyes for one other time before Soo blinked and slowly stood up from her crouched position. Soo was leaping out of the brush, hissing bitterly at the elk and successfully getting the creature to jump and quickly turn around. It wouldn't be escaping on Yule's watch at least.

Waiting a couple of seconds, Yule waited until the elk was only a couple of meters away before pushing himself up onto his feet. He ignored the feeling of sticks tugging at his fur while he started after the elk, ears pinned back and drool pooling out of his mouth. Consider the chase on.
