"Alright, sure!" Woodenpaw said enthusiastically, ready to kill her first, live mouse. On their journey to the border, Woodenpaw noticed something. Something about the same size as her. "H-hey, Firestrike... What's that?" She whispered to her mentor.

Ruby quickly forgets about prey when she scents cats, not like herself. The sour flavor makes her wrinkle up her nose, and she begins to wonder if they were sick. She shrugs and continues her stroll when the scent becomes stonger, and her fur begins to bristle. She veers to her left and claws up a tree loudly, her bell ringing frantically. Maybe she'll spot something from up here

Finishing her meal, Pepper stood up and walked further into the trees. She quickly picked up the smell of cats, and went into a crouch to snoop closer. She was surprised to find some sort of barrier closing off a section of land. Curious, she climbed up a nearby tree to get a closer look.
Gazing down, she saw a bunch of bushes and hollows, the cat scent overpowering everything else in the forest. She tip-toed closer to the edge of the branch, but her weight was too much and the small branch cracked and fell into the clearing. Startled, she scooted back as she heard the faint thud.

He gave a grin at his apprentice's stance before tapping Wisteriapaw's tail "Just lower your tail a little bit," he looked the apprentice over before glancing at his wounded paw. Aldertail quickly looked back up and smilied at the apprentice "The stance is fine, so don't worry about it" he mewed "I'm just concerned about your twisted paw. Does it hurt to much?" he added with a soft frown, he worried watched the apprentice "You can stand up now, by the way"

The tortie stopped for a moment, gave their tail a flick to show they heard their mentor's words before smiling wide as they looked up to Frostfur "How about we do some battle training? I need to touch up on fighting anyways" they mewed before catching a glimpse of their sister strut her way out of the apprentice den and watched in slight worry before changing their attention back to their mentor, Mothpaw and Ravenheart. "That is, if it's alright with you guys"

The molly nodded towards Blackear "Sounds fine by me" she twitched her whiskers, she felt like he might notève believed her but at the moment she didn't really care, so she trailed after blackear towards the camp's exit 'Great, time to go through the brambles again' she thought in bitterness flicking her tail in annoyance. She could feel her anger bubbling up and just honestly wanted to lay down in her nest until it subdued, but she had to continue her training, so when her mentor asked if she was ready to go she gave another nod "let's go."

Batfang glared his way around, before stopping a tail length or two from the camp's exit, he tried to think about where his brother could be for a moment before slowly making his way through others and padded out of the camp, setting out to find Crowclaw.

The patched tabby's purring grew slightly louder as she lazed around and took delicate time to remove her fur of the last bit of moss before she took a stand and strutted out into the rocky camp holding her head and tail high in the air with her usual common sickly sugary smile. Valerianpaw noted Newtpaw's location with a group of cats, she noticed the tiny remains of her sister's vole and let out a loud 'tch' before continuing her way over to the fresh-kill pile herself and picking out a small mouse 'My oh my, I fear that my sister will never look as good as me if she keeps up eatting such things'

The tom mrrowed out a chuckle, he noticed the young apprentice's changed in mood and frowned for a small moment "Yeah, that's a big downfall..." he responded, before smiling a soft smile soaked in sympathy. He took a seat near the apprentice, wrapping his tail around his paws "It's kinda sad up here...." he whispered under breath before turning to Seedpaw "If don't mind me asking, how long have you been in Starclan?"

Crowclaw continued to worriedly watch the apprentice, he gave glance back towards camp before returning his gaze to Duskpaw "I can go get Asphondelleaf, if wanted" he mewed and gave his tail a worried flicked "Or you can lean on me, and we can see if we can at least get closer to camp" he took a step closer to Duskpaw, and took note of her wince

The fluffy grump of a tom twitched his ears and looked over towards the small white apprentice feeling her way towards the den's opening, he watched Lilypaw with his usual glare before making his way over towards the blind apprentice "Good morning Lilypaw." he mewed taking a seat near the apprentice, wrapping his tail over his paws "Seems like it might be a busy morning"

Nightfoot chuckled as Emberfang apologized for being concerned about her brother, thinking about he would do the same thing when he and Firestrike were younger. "That's alright. It's sweet that you care so much about him," He stated, a gentle smile still visible on the tom's face. "Firestrike recently got an apprentice as well. I'm happy for him and all, but I'm really hoping he doesn't try setting up anything too risky." He let his gaze wander for a bit and after a moment stood up. "Maybe we should ask some other cats if they want to join us on a patrol? After all, this is taking a long time," He didn't actually feel like it had been all that long, but he itched for something to do other than just sitting around and talking.

Firestrike hadn't even noticed anything out of the ordinary until he heard Woodenpaw whisper to him. He turned his gaze from the needles he swore he saw moving and instead looked over to where Woodenpaw was looking, determined to find out what she saw. He could see something around their size, but couldn't tell exactly what it was between all the trees and needles around. Sniffing to see if he could catch the creature's scent, he was able to recognize it as a cat, but nobody from their clan. In fact, he didn't recognize the scent from any clan. Growling, he decided to call over to the cat and hopefully scare them off, digging his claws into the needles in an act of self control. "Hey you! What do you think you're doing so close to our borders? This is Pineclan territory, and I'm not afraid to attack you if need be!" To be honest, if it were any other day he probably would have attacked without asking questions first. But that wasn't exactly what he wanted to teach his new apprentice, especially after she herself had been welcomed in.

Wisteriapaw

Wisteriapaw lowered his tail down, his excitement slowly fading. He carefully stood up as straight as he could, before sighing and sitting down, his shoulders slumped and his ears flattened against his head. "It's fine, I'm fine." He meowed, glancing over at the trees. "I just... N-Nevermind..." He glanced down at his paw before all his attention turned down to it. "I feel like a bad apprentice because I went out without your permission or with anyone by my side. I'm sorry..." He mewled quietly, almost silently, before a few tears rolled down his face.

Mooncloud sat in her nest, grooming herself while keeping a close eye on her brother, Stormcloud. He had only recently woken up and he was always a grouchy first thing in the morning. She gently bathed in the morning glow of new-leaf, feeling the warmth on her golden pelt.

Stormcloud lay awake. He gave a big yawn and licked down some of his chest fur. He glanced over at his sister and smiled softly.

Sighing, Pepper scrambled down the tree warily and landed somewhat ungracefully. She was still kind of shaken by her close-call. Shaking out her fur, she padded around the mysterious barrier until she found an opening. Curious, she sniffed the entrance, the smell of multiple cats hitting her nose. She staggered back and stood nearby the entrance, hoping to see a cat and get some answers.

Hollowmist quietly ate her mouse and listened to the birds and rustling of the trees. Finally, some peace she thought, at least until something caught her eye. It was a silhouette. She tried to avoid looking directly at it, and instead out of the corner of her eye. She had learned from when the humans were testing on her in captivity that to look at something straight on made her vulnerable, although the blurriness of the outline in her eye made her frustrated. She ambled along to the camp entrance, ignoring her racing heartbeat, and gazed around at nothing in particular. Suddenly she jumped onto the shoulders of a white cat with dappled black specks across her pelt and gleaming yellow eyes. "And what are you doing here?" Hollowmist growled, hackles raised and pelt bristling.

"Okay if you want" Duskpaw grumbled to Crowclaw and, trying to not cringe, hobbled back to camp with Crowclaw by her shoulder. I feel like i only have three legs, stop treating me like i'm special she thought. She had hated it, ever since she was back at echo. The cruel praise of her bloodthirsty mentors made her feel singled out, different. When she got back to camp she hoped that they wouldn't all stare and laugh.

Badgerfang grinned, liking his apprentice’s enthusiasm. Today was going to be good, he could tell. He left the camp, glancing back to make sure his apprentice was following. It did not take them long to reach the place that Badgerfang wanted to train in today. He led Wolfpaw to a small clearing in the forest. It was empty, which was good for them, but even if another mentor and apprentice were already here, Badgerfang wouldn’t really care. ”This is where we will be training today.” He meowed, stopping in the center. He turned to face Wolfpaw. ”Now, come at me. Show me what you got!” He said suddenly.

Sorrelheart tilted her head a bit at Whitedoe’s suggestion. ”That’s okay with me.” She said simply. ”Do you want to go with just the two of us, or should we bring someone else?” She looked around camp. Two cats would be fine for a hunting patrol, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring another cat with them.
