Just got home from seeing Pokemon: I Choose You and
I really enjoyed it
Was surprised to see my local cinema was doing a bunch of showings for it, but was worth it~ Screen was about half-full, and we were sat in front of a family who p. much overreacted to everything, but it was otherwise enjoyable. Wasn't expecting them to show the first three Generations shorts afterwards (along with a nice round-up of moments from most of the other movies), so that was neat. We got our cards, plus the QR codes (only opened one - they're in plastic wrappers where you can see the Pika-card at the front, and the "info" part of the QR card) but seems like they might all share the same code) and a nice little leaflet with a fold out poster... Didn't think we'd get them, as most of the cinema is undergoing refurbishment at the moment, so they didn't have anyone outside handing stuff out when we entered, but someone did come in before the adverts started with a box of the goodies and handed them out. Movie was good, as long as you don't take it really seriously/aren't in a "IT HAS TO BE LIKE THE ORIGINAL" mindset, gotta take it as it's own thing. I cried a little at parts, it was really nice to be able to see a Pokemon movie on the big screen, as we've not had one in the UK since... The third, I think? Or maybe the second, but it's been a while anyway.
Really looking forward to USUM now, and it's reminded me to find out which Generations shorts I've not yet seen and go watch them~
