Pumpkinpaw barely moved when brambleberry approached. She would have laid down her life for Firefeather if needed. After all, he was the reason she got to join the clans in the first place. Now, looking at his body once more, all the nights she spent sitting just outside her den, watching for Firefeather.. Of all nights it could have happened... It was one where she wasn't paying attention.

Looking at Brambleberry, she hoarsely whispers out "I'm sorry......"

Windsong sat sulkily out by the fresh kill pile, picking over the food quietly. The blind queen had been struck with grief, with her Denmate and her kit dead and afterward listening as the clan banished her innocent brother. With a sadden sigh, she completely gave up eating and instead curled up to sleep. I

Breezefire woke up to the sound of nothing, the sound of air and snow falling on the floor. "Pumpkinpaw, Wake up." she gently said, then walked outside to grab some catmint for the future. She padded out of camp to see a small group of cats mourning over... Firefeather and Acornfoot. Her eyes widened and ran to mourn with them, getting catmint flew out of her mind. "Why would anyone kill Firefeather and Acornfoot?" she cried, tears flooding.

Palesnow felt lonely as the warrior's den was pretty much empty. Newtnose, his mentor is always busy, and Otterstar has to take care of her clan that has been falling apart. Palesnow sighed as he pushed his nose into his nest.

Otterstar flicked her ear as a snowflake landed on it. Cats were gathered below her, every single one shivering. She shook off her nervous feeling, shutting her eyes for a moment.
She got to her paws, tail raised and her eyes stark in the dim light.
"Riverclan, we must stay vigilant. We have exiled so many cats- each possibly being innocent.." She shook her head. "But we must do it again. Pumpkinpaw, please step forward."
Pumpkinpaw moved forward, her gaze low. Her father was dead, and they thought she did it?
"You killed your own father. For that, you don't deserve to stay here. Leave at once. If we ever see you on our territory again, we will kill on sight." The words made Otterstar's heart hurt. Was Pumpkinpaw really responsible for this? Pumpkinpaw stayed silent, and soon began to sob quietly. "All I have ever done was try to protect him. The one night I decide t-to sleep he-he.." Her sobs became louder, and her whole body shook. She lost her entire family.. her mother, her brother, and now her father. Her heart ached, everything ached. She ran out of the camp, and through the snow. She didn't stop until her paws felt numb, her heart racing and her tears freezing to her face. She trembled, outside of the clans territory.

How many cats have to be betrayed?

Otterstar names Dewpaw Dewfrost for her resilience in training.

Brambleberry lay in her nest, her tail twitching occasionally from dreams. Suddenly, she woke up with a gasp, her heart racing and tears streaming down her face. She shivered, wrapping her tail tightly around her body. Her son, her only son, was dead. Her granddaughter and grandson, exiled and murdered. She let out a hollow sigh, shutting her eyes once more in sadness.
"Brambleberry." the familiar mew brought the old she back to her senses, and she gazed up at the cat who now stood in the entrance. She purred, suddenly feeling a little bit better. "Hello." she sat up, smiling at the cat. "How are you? It's been a few hectic moons, so I understand that you haven't had time to speak with an old she like me." There was a hint of humor to her tone, and the cat chuckled lightly.
"I'm sorry. With everything that happened, it's been.." The cat's voice caught in their throat "...different. I'm not used to this, we all aren't." The cat moved and sat next to Brambleberry, purring quietly. "I wanted to make sure that you are alright."
Brambleberry smiled, but looked away for a moment. "I'm alright." But her words were not true, and the cat could sense it.
"Would you like to go get a bite to eat?" Brambleberry looked back at the cat, then nodded hesitantly. As the two stepped outside, they both noticed that clouds covered the stars. The cat, the murderer, quickly moved to the fresh-kill pile and retrieved a plump, abnormally plump, vole. Brambleberry felt her paws suddenly begin to tingle, a feeling reaching her chest. As the cat turned back to face the old she, her breath caught in her throat. The eyes, the eyes that Oatkit told in his dream.. No, they couldn't... they couldn't be...
The murderer walked forward, placing the vole beside Brambleberry with a purr. Brambleberry dipped her head, but a feeling rested in her chest. She didn't want to trust them, but..

She gulped down the vole, noticing the slightly earthy taste. Poppy seeds
Her mind went fuzzy, and she fought so hard to avoid sleep.. but she couldn't help it. As she lay on the snow, the cold almost felt like it burned through her fur. She accepted the sleep, knowing what was going to happen.
The murderer then took three red berries they had dug in a hole outside of camp, and placed them into Brambleberry's mouth. the cat watched as she swallowed them down, and watched as Brambleberry began to convulse.
They shut their eyes, the numbness returning.
