Wearing earphones was one thing that he always did when he was practising, it took his attention away from the world around it, at least thats what he did at home. Just as he was about to turn unlock his phone to turn on his music on, the same girl from before had walked over to tell him that it apparently 'wasn't allowed', so with some resistance the young man took them out "What else can't I do here..." he paused for a minute realising that he hadn't learnt her name as of yet "What is your name?".

The fact that they weren't allowed phones why riding sort of agitated the young man, what if there was an emergency and you needed it? Obviously they hadn't though of this. "Well Ally Goldman I could argue with you why a phone could help in a dangerous situation whilst riding but I don't know if you want to hear my point." he replied in a slightly softer tone and added inside leg and outside leg in order to ask his horse to side-pass. If he left the youngster standing too long then he would become bored and that was something that he didn't need such a young horse to learn any bad habits.

It's a well known fact that people in the equestrian world are some of the most opinionated people in the world, even more so then your politicians and sports fans. He couldn't really argue with the way they did things here but that didn't mean he agreed with it, everything is done so differently anywhere you go and that's something you just can't help. When Ally left it occurred to him that she most likely didn't know his name, this didn't bother him much but then again it did, it was only polite to return those sorts of questions. Giving the gelding a small squeeze with his lower leg, Brett asked the youngster to move forward. Although the horse was fairly well educated for his age, before working him too much the young man would still go over the basic aids.

By the time Ally had returned, Brett had put Pharaoh out in the field and was working with his other horse, a chestnut gelding around the same height as the other but unlike the buckskin wouldn't grown any taller than 15.1 hands in height. Brett had placed an old set of leather hobbles around the equines front legs whilst he set up his 'home made' cow simulator. By now he had attached the black shopping bag to the piece of rope and turned on the machine which moved the ropes back and forth, simulating the movement of a beast which would hold the interest of the chestnut gelding. Once making his way back over to the grazing Cricket, Brett took off the hobbles and prepared to mount his trusted partner.

A smile crossed the man's face as he allowed the gelding to trot up to the equipment with little guidance and a tap with the spurs signalled the horse to go right, then left and soon enough he got the drift. Brett turned the horse to the rest of the arena and asked the horse for a slow canter and began commentating his riding as if it were a real high level competition "Draw twenty-seven, Brett Lawson riding One Great Aussie." He paused for a minute as he asked for a trot as they headed towards the 'cow' "These two have come so far from juniors to the national arena, I'm looking forward to see their run as this is an impeccable team. It's going to be hard to get a bad round from this pair as his horse truly does live up to his name, this chestnut Quarter horses really is one great aussie." the young man laughed to himself as he began to cut the 'steer'.
