Lunaric Isles Pack

Pack Traditions/Lore: The pack prizes loyalty, courage, and intelligence. They are very protective of each other. Aster was originally in a militaristic pack that was cruel to its members. Once he was old enough, he left. In his travels he met Luna, who had lost her pack to a forest fire. They grew close and decided to create their own pack. They carved out a territory far from their previous ones. This pack loves the stars, and often uses them to keep track of the days and where they are. They worship the moon as a motherly goddess of nature. The main ritual is pack run on a full moon. Although the pack does have a religion and practices that go with it, they are very tolerant of other ways of life, as long as this way does not harm others. They are even fine with nonbelievers in their own pack.

Pack Structure: The pack is slightly democratic. All wolves have a voice in decisions. However, the final decision is always up to the alpha pair. The others mostly give suggestions. There is hierarchy based on age. Pups at the bottom, the omega, then juveniles, then those in training, then the adults and healer, then the two betas, and finally the alphas. Those in training are juveniles that are finally old enough to begin learning to hunt and fight. The entire pack teaches them. Although the pack will fiercely defend its territory from outsiders who pose a threat, they are compassionate. If they find a pup, or an injured wolf they will more than likely help, unless the consequences would too dire. They will even take in rogues as pack mates if they prove their loyalty, and will defend them fiercely from their previous pack.

Patrolling

Hunting:

Upon picking up the scent of deer, Aster raced back to the den to get Luna. He didn't want to call to her and alert the deer after all. Together the two quickly scented the air and determined that the deer were just a little further down the mountain then them, near the river. Thankfully the two wolves were down wind. Using the natural foliage as cover the two stalked closer to the deer to observe the herd. Luna nudged Aster and pointed with her snout to an old stag. He had a slight limp, due to a scratch on his front right knee most likely from crossing the river. Looking around the rest of the herd, there didn't appear to be any other injured or sick deer, so the mates decided to target him. Luna, her coat providing her more camouflage in the snow hid behind a rock near the old stag. Aster snuck around to the other side of the herd. Surging, he startled the deer, causing them to panic and race towards Luna. She was safe behind her rock from the stampede and when the old stag drew near, she pounced on his back. Aster raced over and helped her finish the deer off by going for the throat. They quickly brought him down. The old stag was little trouble due to his age and injury. But he provided plenty of meat for the wolves. Before eating, they paused for a few minutes to check for enemies nearby and as a moment of silence out of respect for the deer. Once they were full, they buried part of the remains for safe keeping but left enough behind for scavengers such as ravens.

Courting:
After their full meal, the two wolves took a nap in the shade of a tree, curled up together for warmth. Upon waking, Luna pounced on Aster, startling him awake. This triggered a game of tag. The two wolves raced through their territory playing and howling. Luna took a sharp veer towards the den and Aster followed.

While returning from their hunt and heading back to the den, Luna picked up the scent of a strange wolf. She stops in her tracks and Aster loops back to see what's the matter when he picks up the scent as well. Luna looks to Aster for what their next course of action will be.
- Your wolves have scented a female lone wolf in their territory! Please describe what they do in response to this.

The two alphas determine that they should approach this lone wolf with caution to see why they are in their territory. If they are a threat who seeks their pack harm or if they are trying to take over the territory, they will chase her out. However, if she is simply a lone she wolf seeking shelter they will allow her to stay for a few days. And if she proves trustworthy, and loyal she may even be allowed to join them.

Having a plan, the two alphas follow the scent until they have the lone wolf in their sights. Luna howls a greeting to the lone wolf, to show that they will not attack unless given reason, and to ask if they may speak. If the lone wolf tries to flee the territory they will let her. But if she shows aggression they will attack. And if she submits or just wants to talk they will approach with caution, especially since Luna is so close to having pups.

The tan she-wolf looks up when she hears Luna's howl and notices the two wolves approaching. She freezes in her place, unsure of what to do. After a moment of staring, she lowers her head submissively. She isn't looking for a fight and hopes they will accept her into the pack.
