''Glad you haven't yet; I've been told the life of a warrior is fraught with danger.'' Smallwhisker remarked, recalling Hollytail's extravagant stories of heavily-muscled warriors who'd sooner snap your bones into shards than look at you. Flicking her ears, Smallwhisker sighed. ''I'm always near my mentor; Stonenose might be nice but he's awfully shy.'' She murmured. ''Sometimes I just want some time away from my mentor, is that bad of me?''

“Yeah, I guess but I can understand why he does that.” Cloudmask replied. The idea of giving a warrior who’d just barely gotten his or her warrior name was a bit silly to her. “Thanks, I guess. You do too.” She replied, a slight purr rising in her throat as she looked at the tom. Few of the Caveclan toms would tell a molly something like that. All too often, they’d say something about how pretty a molly was, so hearing something about one’s personality, that was worth so much more. “No one’s told me something like that before,”

Cloudyspots walked through the territory, trying to spot all kinds of herbs that might go unnoticed. Her mind wandered back to Meadowfern's kitting earlier, and her paws began to take her further then the territory boundaries. Cloudyspots blinked, discovering she had crossed the border, which was now a fox-length away, and was heading for what looked like a forest. Her childish mind thought back to being a kit in a similar area, and at once Cloudyspots paused and blew at some dandelions. She sighed, focusing again. A small daisy leaf fell from her thick pelt: It was even worse to know that she had trampled a valuable daisy patch nearby.

Applenose's body heated up and he ducked his head, simultaneously embarrassed and pleased. "Thanks," he mumbled. "Say," he said, "how's Caveclan?" he asked, both realizing that he hadn't inquired at the health of Cloudmask's clan and wanting to steer the subject away to something else. Something safer. "Are your clanmates well?"

"Egrettail?" asked Hillfang. "We've got an Egretstep and he's the oddest cat I've ever met. Scratchy voice, high step, kinda quiet," she said. "Like an egret bird. He's never come to the Gatherings. Never wants to, he says." When Juniperpelt mentioned that seven kits were due to become apprentices, she nearly choked with surprise. "Seven?!" she squeaked. "We've never had much more than seven kits at a time--and the age difference is usually four or so moons apart, so they move through the ranks pretty quickly. But seven all at once..." She shook her head with bemusement and wonder. "I hope your clan has enough potential mentors! I heard that when Duckpelt's litter was really young, no one knew if there would be enough mentors and Briarwhisker said that Honeystar had considered mentoring one of her kits, there were so few cats."

Orchidnose shook her head in response to Smallwhisker's question, remembering there were times when even she wanted some time away from Laurelcloud even though she and her former mentor had always maintained a good relationship with one another. "Not at all, I think every cat wants some time to themselves every once and a while." She said earnestly. "And your mentor sounds a lot different then our lead medicine cat; Weaselstorm is probably the grumpiest cat in all the Clans."

Asphodelface cursed as yet another bird slipped so easily out of his claws, he supposed he wasn't really suited for hunting that type of prey, as he spent most of his life chasing after rats in a garbage dump. The pale-furred tom let out a huff, tail twitching in agitation as he stared at the area around him. It was just his luck that he managed to find himself far from PineClan, surely Larkclaw wouldn't let him hear the end of it when he returned. As he was about to turn around and walk the way he came, a new scent on the breeze caught his attention. The familiarity of it took his off-guard momentarily, and as he racked his mind for any possible way he could've scented it before, a flash of soft ginger-and-white fur flashed through his mind. Asphodelface felt his fur grow warm at the thought of the CloudClan molly he met at the last Gathering he had been to, and he made his way over to where her scent was the strongest before he had any time to think about it.

Junierpelt let out a chuckle at Hillfang's description of Egretstep, and he thought his brother looked the part of the bird he was named after! His laugh grew louder at her surprise of the abundance of kits that would be becoming apprentices soon, he wondered how she would feel if he had told her there were currently twelve kittens in the nursery if he counted the aforementioned seven along with them. "I'm thinking it's gonna take half the Clan to mentor them all! But I'm sure we'll be able to make due for a while at least." He mewed, "I wish I could mentor one of them, but I have to wait until I'm eighteen moons to be even considered for that job." Juniperpelt let out a half-impatient sigh, sure he was young but he was plenty responsible, wasn't he? "Would you ever like to be a mentor one day?"

Oakstar was back in her territory, and going on a “patrol”. She really hid amid the leaves of a large oak tree. Her sharp eyes enabled her to see Ashcloud.
“Creampaw!” Ashcloud hissed. “Get over here or I’m setting Oakclan’s dang oak trees on fire... With you in them!” No response. Ashcloud whirled around, looking a little cream kitten, meowing in dismay. “No! Don’t kill me, Ashcloud! Don’t kill me!”
“If you’re killed, I won’t be the one to kill you. The fire will kill you.” Ashcloud said.
“You will not kill Creampaw on my watch, mouse-brain! And you thought I was stupid, did you, Ash?” Oakstar knew she may be overreacting, but she was so nervous and worried she could not help it. She started untying Creampaw, as fast as she could.
Ashcloud, again, scowled that original, ugly scowl of his. “Even frog guts would be better for clan leader than you!”
“Yeah, Ashcloud. So you could set it's clan on fire, arsenist? Now get outta here!”
Oakstar hissed and spat.
Ashcloud reached out a paw to scratch. Oakstar took that chance. She jumped back and scratched Ashcloud’s paw.
Ashcloud didn’t wince but jumped up and lit a fire.
“Hey!” Oakstar tried to jump on the fire. The thick coat she had from the wintertime could protect her from the heat.
She missed, and landed on Ashcloud instead.
“Get off me, you tyrant!” Ashcloud shrieked.
“I am not a tyrant! If anyone, youwould be one!! And that is why you’re not a leader!” Oakstar screamed. They both forgot about the fire.
It spread to an oak tree. They were fighting. Loudly. So loud that the crackles caused by the fire were noticed way too late. A tree was flaming up, and spreading to the other trees.
“What have you done?!?!” Oakstar’s voice shook as she attacked Ashcloud. “Get out of here, you snake heart! And don’t come back! Ever!”
Ashcloud, who had several big, deep cuts, scampered off first chance he got. “Fine!”
Oakstar looked up. Three trees were flaming.

Gladestep stammered, "O-oh, it's actually quite a bit further, you see that cliff over there?" Gladestep pointed his head in the direction of a cliff that was protruding from a mountain quite a ways off. "It's actually a bit c-closer to there..." Gladestep looked at his paws. Great, he thought. Now if she decided to tell her clan where Cliffclan's camp is, it'll be all my fault if they attacked. "Well... how many cats are in your clan? There aren't very many in my clan, just three other cats other than me. And one of them, Mossflight, is expecting kits! How am I supposed to help her when she, you know, needs help kitting?"
Gladestep blushed. While it felt good to vent, maybe this wasn't exactly the right cat. After all, he had just met her a few moments ago.

"Ah, okay. That seems much more logical. We don't have many members either, but we're growing every day. Just today another molly joined us in fact. Congratulations on the coming Kits! I wish we had kits in our clan, but none so far. As for what you should do, try to make sure you have some sort of pain killer, and a stick for her to bite down on if she needs it. Not all cats do though. And try to have Borrage leaves if you can find them, in case it is a large litter." Velvetflicker instructed, kindly. "How long have you been a medicine cat? I'm pretty new to it myself, I just became a full fledged medicine cat about six moons before I joined my Clan."
