Snakepaw's head popped out of the bushes that shielded the top of the slope that Echoclan usually came down to get to the gatherings. He narrowed his eyes, searching for Acornclaw among the shadows. He perked up when he saw the Pineclan she-cat was already there waiting for him.
"Hey!" He called cheerfully, hopping out of the bushes and rushing down the slope.

"I shouldn't even be doing this." Gorsebird grumbled to herself as she high-stepped through the muddy grass, trying to keep her belly fur from gathering the gross mud. "I'm a loyal Echoclan warrior. I should be hunting and helping train the apprentices, not meeting some tom from a rival Clan."
Despite thinking this, Gorsebird kept trudging through the mud to meet Vervaincloud. The seal pointed she-cat slipped down into the hollow, her tail swishing happily when she saw the tom was already there. She shook out her paws, trying to get off the bits of mud that were still there. "Vervaincloud." She mewed once she finished, hurrying forward to greet him.

Brindlecloud padded quietly behind Crowpaw, watching her apprentice as he searched for herbs that they would be able to use for Bramblingflight when she finally kitted. She looked over her shoulder to Icefang, Yewfrost and Hemlockheart,
who were remarking the scent lines. Despite her protests, Raggedstar had insisted that the three warriors went with Brindlecloud and Crowpaw on their herb gathering patrol for protection. From what, Brindlecloud didn't know.
Crowpaw suddenly turned and dashed back to Brindlecloud, squeezing under the she-cat's belly. "Crowpaw, what in Starclan's name are you doing?!" Brindlecloud gasped, moving away from Crowpaw.
"There's a tom at the border." He whimpered.
At this, the three warriors took off around the boulders to face whoever was there. Moments later, Yewfrost poked his head around.
"Brindlecloud, you need to see this!" He purred before leaving. Brindlecloud sighed and padded off after the young warrior, Crowpaw reluctantly following.
"What is it that is so important for me to see?" Brindlecloud sighed, already wanting to head back to the camp. Crowpaw peered nervously around Brindlecloud. "R-Ramhorn?!"
