A has won!You promptly raise your head to stare into the bird's eyes, attempting to threaten the bird into submission, despite your less-than-okay status.
Where am I, and what is happening?
You boldly demanded from the avian - despite the most likely scenario of it simply fluttering away, like a normal bird would.
However, much to your surprise, you could start to hear a somewhat shrill voice begin to sound inside your head:
Honestly, no don't need to be so rude about asking, you idiot.
The voice spoke in a mockery-filled tone.
Seriously though, I would've like, definitely flown away if I were a totally normal bird.
All of a sudden, the pale gray bird, situated just in front your nose began to cackle, its wings flapping around uncontrollably, like a kite lost in a tornado.
Piecing two-and-two together, you soon began to realize what the actual heck this creature was - no, rather, what it was capable of. However, you of course were not yet satisfied:
Where am I, and what is happening?
You repeated once more, this time with a more stern approach.
The animal immediately stopped with whatever it was doing, replacing it with a huge, snarky grin on its face:
Aww, the poor little human doesn't know where it is!
Again, the voice returned to your head, the mockery seeming to not have rested for even a second.
You don't want to know where we are, little human.
It continued to speak, this time however, a tad bit more composed.
But, if you really want to know, we're in basically what is a... what do you call it.. ah yes, a prison!
The second the last word exited your ear, a sudden tugging started at your throat, constricting your airtubes and blocking the air from entering your heaving lungs.
You gasped and spluttered, desperately struggling to stay conscious. Your already broken nails dug into the damp earth, as you watched them slowly turn a shade of sickly blue.
What this the end for you? Were you going to die at the talons of a measly bird?
Of course not!
Though, as you started to black out, you could spot what seemed to be... a shadow. A sentient, black creature you could spot from the corner of your eye, its long tendrils wound around your neck, squeezing the remaining life out of you.
However, as your eyes slowly rolled back into your head, and your vision faded to black, you could still hear a faint squawking noise...
Suddenly, you wake up with a start. You instinctively start examining your surroundings, unable to see, or hear anything other than darkness.
And yet, in your hand, you could feel something hard, something warm to the touch.
You run your fingers over the finely created metal, eventually able to figure out that the object was.. a knife.
What do you do now?
A) Stand up and walk around, try to explore this strange new place.
B) Stay put - just in case.
C) Call out into the darkness: "Is anyone here?"
D) Examine the knife closer - perhaps there's something special about it?
