“Phew! It is hot out today, glad we got those rooms ahead of time.” The little fluff ball was jumping from foot to foot, trying to think of something. “Well, we could try to do that quest,” a voice announced from behind.” “Yeah, but don’t you think it’s getting a bit late?” Dusk was to arrive in less than an hour, according to Swanna, and even a simple retrieval quest at Breezy Meadows would keep any Pokémon out for a while. Still, what else where they meant to do? They could check the Kecleon shop, but they would probably be sold out, considering how late it was. Then it struck her. “Cascade, we could start planning what we want our team base to look like. Once we get more funds, heading over to Gurdurr’s Construction would be nice, so that our team could have a home!” The idea was perfect to her, so she didn’t understand when, “But should we? I understand that we’d have the pick of the land, but really? It would only be the two of us there anyway, and what would we do?” He was blushing a little, but the Mudkip was good at keeping his nervousness out of his voice. His eyes though, still had that look of fear to them. “But once we do it, we won’t have to keep renting these rooms. We could make it our own space, and store extra supplies there! Plus, I’m a pretty good chef. You’ve got to pick up a few cooking skills when you live by yourself.” He seemed reluctant to agree, so the two decided on a compromise. “I agree to do it, but under one condition.” Ashley was pretty sure she could fulfill it, whatever it was. “One more member, then we’ll get the house, okay? It would be very empty with only each other for company.” She agreed, saying that even if it was in the far future, they would be accepted by the other Pokémon here if one of them decided to join.

Why did I say that, why did I say that?!? Cascade kept telling himself that, over and over, as he lay on his bed. To tell the truth, he’d wanted to get a place with Ashley. They’d known each other for years, and got along pretty well. He treated her like just another friend, and she treated him like a brother. So, he didn’t really understand himself why he’d told her off for the plan. Maybe it was because the idea was very alien to him. He understood why it would work in their favor, and that they should follow through with it. Though, to be frank, he’d gotten an apartment with a group of buddies a few years ago, his Torchic friend included. It might be that it would just be the two of them, in a house, just to themselves. Still, he’d stick with his agreement, but just felt that he’d been a bit harsh. I’ll tell her in the morning, for now, I should sleep.
