Hey more on seasonal changes/pet rotations/whatever
What if the admin pets were the special store pets for each season? So we'd need admin to each choose a season but whenever that came around, they would be the ones to design and name one of the pets put up.
Also, in making Musings unique: maybe do some side-scrolling games that you can play with your pet? Art for those is pretty easy as long as you keep it simple, and coding isn't too hard; I've done one before so I could at least advise or assist the coders. But it's a model that translates pretty well to multiple games, it's easy(ish) to edit the code just a little, throw up some new art and call it brand new; also, it would let us run contests etc. for high scores and stuff.

Earlier in the thread I noticed a small discussion on the art style, whether it’ll be like CS where artists chose the style, patterns, colors, etc. of the outcomes, or like FelisFelir and Wajas, where the user selects the patterns and colors, etc. I feel like that should be more of a debate, because IMO it’ll be a large part of what determines the sites success. Maybe we can set up a poll?

Hey guys, I'm back on after "dying" inside and having to sleep the rest of the day.

Are you far into development? A lot goes into making sites like these and some people literally spend years on them. Do you have a team that knows a lot about programming and can put together the basics?

What up kittncakes! We're definitely not far in development...in fact we haven't started the coding process at all since we're still tossing ideas around. Not even a mockup has been made for the site. At the moment I'm the only coder, but hopefully there'll be at least 1-2 more people that'll sign up as one so I won't have to tackle on front end and back end development all on my own. I DEFINITELY agree that it takes longer than just 1 year to make a site especially if it's starting from scratch like musings so I don't expect us to be done anytime soon at all.

To an extent the style should definitely be debatable and a group effort and decided upon by majority vote (or by Fallen).
However
I feel like something like Felisfire or Wajas would imply a breeding function... which might be problematic since it would be super hard to code and put strain on the site.
We could do it halfway and have different marking/colour options when you buy a pet, maybe? Something as small as the eye colour changing on one, and completely different markings on another. This would be harder on artists but simple colour changes could be done by any mod/admin with the PSD file in their free time.

Well, honestly building a pet site shouldn't be rushed for sure even if we had a lot of people working on it. Getting a pet site done won't be possible in 1 year, but maybe pre-alpha testing could be it just depends.

Yeah, like pre-pre-alpha.
Pet sites like these take a lot of work and shouldn't be rushed just to get it done in a set amount of time. I mean, if we ever to release alpha/beta, maybe we could give those testers a pet/items you couldn't get from anywhere else? (Random idea, I don't know if it's been said or not yet)

As of what I know, we're only planning (staff) or suggesting (non-staff and staff) right now. I remember a post saying there wasn't a host for the website yet, I think.
