dream: when he was only a young boy, star trek came out with its first episode. from the first time he saw captain kirk and spock on the screen, he knew that being captain of the starship enterprise was what he wanted to be. most children would dream of something simpler, like an astronomer or an astronaut, but no -- mattie specifically wanted to be in charge of the enterprise and roam through space at warp speed.

as each episode for each season pass, he saw the world of star trek unfold before her, and soon he was convinced that it was real. when mattie watched spock do such amazing things to save anyone in a time of crisis, he began to believe that he was a vulcan as well and managed to memorize most of the vulcan rituals and words. he's even somewhat maintained an always logical and emotionless state -- although he does have a huge crush on captain kirk despite the age difference. extra: mattie loves to travel with his dad and step-dad. he's absolutely obsessed with the things remy will bring back sometimes, and he makes up tales about how his father goes on super-secret starfleet missions to retrieve old alien relics. although, mattie does worry about his father getting into trouble with scammers and aggressive people -- you never know what kind of people you could run into. but because of so many run-ins, mattie sees his dad as very brave and courageous. he hopes to be the same way when he grows up and becomes the captain of the enterprise.

on the other hand, mattie isn't very close to his step-father irving. in fact, he sees irving as too much of a scaredy cat to be in starfleet and wonders what sort of job a "paranormal investigator" would do in star trek. he tends to stay away from his step-dad and hasn't really warmed up to him yet; mattie is fairly hesitant and tentative to do so. to the boy, it seems like irving is more interested in remy than he is with mattie. The Dream

"Come on Damian, you'll miss it!" Remy cried from the front door. He had been calling Damian for the past ten minutes, with no success. Finally, he heard the pounding of little paws coming towards him. The little blue boy arrived with his backpack full of stuff. Despite only running across the house, he was short of breath.
Remy was waiting at the door, a worried expression in his face.
"Hurry! Your gonna miss the bus!" He said, pushing Damian out the door.
"By dad! Bye Irvy!" Damian said to his dad and step dad. He then ran up the driveway, just as the bus was pulling up. Boy, was he lucky.
Damian was heading to Junior Lifeguard Training. Ever since he was rescued by a lifeguard, he has always admired them for what they do.
This camp was a week long, meaning Damian wouldn't get to see his dads for a while. That thought made Damian almost not go, but Remy insisted.
"If you don't go, you'll regret it kiddo!" Remy had said.
Now, since Damian was still a kid, he couldn't go to actual lifeguard training yet. This was the next best thing. And once he's older, he'll go to actual lifeguard training.
This was Damian's dream. He wants to be able bto help people when they need it, to quite possibly save lives. There's just something about lifeguards that inspire Damian to get out there and help people. He admires the long hours of training they do, the amount of energy spent.

Personality:

Damian is a very bubbly and upbeat Kal. His perkiness never fails to make his dads smile. He's always running around, jumping and having a good time. He doesn't really get mad or sad, as he's very optimistic and tries to make the best out of a bad situation.
Damian can't stand being alone. It makes him worried. He's afraid that nobody will ever come back for him. Whenever his dads leave, Damian insists on having a friend over.

Pets:

Damian adores animals, especially aquatic animals. He has two turtles, three goldfish and one beta fish as pets, and he loves them all! He likes to pet his turtle's shells and just talk to them.


Relationships with fathers:

Remy: Damian admires Remy for what he does. The fact that he's brave enough to go out into the world alone is mind blowing to Damian, as he can't stand being alone.
These two will often go exploring in the forest that's close to their house. They pick berries and find bugs for Remy's merchant shop.


Irving: Damian loves his stepdad. Damian finds him goofy and awkward, and he makes the best dad jokes. He loves hearing about Irving's paranormal experiences, and believes every one.
Sometimes he with Irving to explore abandoned buildings and investigate for ghosties. Damian usually ends up taking the lead, as Irving is a little cowardly. Damian loves all of Irving's ghost hunting equipment, and likes to think of him as a Ghostbuster.
