How do you decide who is going to design what species for the month? Does an admin just choose like; "Ok Swift you'll do dogs, Vampiric will be designing the cats..."
Or do you guys decide or what? Also, is there a limit to how many adopts a GA can make in a certain amount of time?

How did you guys come up with the salmon squad Idea?

It's kind of a silly joke that originated from our group chat on skype ca. two years ago.
It's also what kicked off the idea of the first GH litter :D

See, the pink colour of our usernames is usually referred to as 'salmon'. And at some point during a conversation we had, another Helper (I think it was Tif) said how "maybe our mascot should just be salmon", and we ended up joking around for a while about it. (Including calls for one of our artsy folks to draw a cute pink salmon.)

What really cemented it was probably when Celozon decided to stand up to the task and created a little pixel avatar of a salmon flopping around, with the words 'Salmon Squad' below it.
We all thought it looked funny, and there were ideas to use it for April Fool's day, until we remembered that during April Fool's the avatars of team members usually get changed to something related to the prank. (And 2016 was the year we all switched name colours, so the salmon would have given us away!)

But we really wanted a chance to put that graphic to use, so we threw around ideas for how maybe we could do a giveaway of some sort, involving lots of salmon coloured pets.
Ultimately the idea of getting permission for a GH litter came up, and as we were preparing it, Kyar made the adorable newborn stage with the 'Salmon Squad' blanket.

So that's how the silly little nickname for our team sorta became public, and people started picking it up as well :'D

To anyone:
So is the "Pet Design Suggestions" you mention that we can't suggest anything that may have a copyright conflict (like movies, books, brands, etc.) but then theres a whole set of warrior cats, I'm just wondering if you actually got permission from them to use the characters on this site? Im not being judgey or trying to pry or anything, i just used to be a huge fan of the series and think its cool if you actually got permission because it feels like a big deal! Also that being said, have the authors seen the pets? what do they think of them? Do they find them to be really accurate, like what they pictured when they wrote the characters?

We stopped creating Warrior cats due to copyright conflict. However, natural cat designs cannot be copyrighted, so as long as Chicken Smoothie does not officially call them Warrior cats, then they are fine to stay. This is why they are referred to as "Sitting cats" in the Archive and why Warriors are no longer created. The community calls the cats by their Warrior names, not the site.
