I was thinking like the split pups will sprout wings.

The joints on the legs and colors strongly suggests poseable wooden animal models used for art studies.

They look like ball-jointed dolls, especially cause of the cheek blushing.

I think what's getting to me is the shading. I'm really not convinced by it. I know it's supposed to make the dogs look more three dimensional, but it's just not looking quite right to me. Maybe a bit of wood texture would have been nice. Maybe the splits will have more detail or something extra added to them?

I'm kind of really disappointed so far this month. I was excited for spooky doll dogs, horses made of ripped parchment splattered with calligraphy...

At least the chickens and cats make up for it. Also, monkies. The ponies and rats and BWs are pretty great too.

So far the monthly adopt cats just take the cake for me, though. I don't know if fall is like this anywhere else but where I live you tend to get lots of cloudless, deep blue skies especially in the mornings after the fog has cleared. So while blue isn't generally considered a "fall," color they look super fall-y to me and I love it.

Missed that one completely! >.< Had 3 newborns grow to 2nd stage and not a one grew to adult. *sad sigh*

Personally, I like them. Their plain designs make them great for dressups. But I can see why some people would think otherwise.

me too! i was kinda expecting them to be all dolled-up (hehe) when fully grown but i still think they look really nice while "nude". plus, it makes them easier to personally dress up, which feels very appropriate, thematically, since BJDs are often customized by collectors / doll artists.
