Hearing his name, he shot out of his nest and skidded to a stop in front of his mentor. "I am here!" His fur was rather ruffled from tossing in his sleep.

Shimmerstar blushed at the contact, but nodded. "They have much to learn." He murmured. He looked around camp. "I think you should send Barkfur, Rabbittail and Foxpelt on a patrol. You can get Sunpaw to gather herbs." He said. He knew how worried Foxpelt was and he thought it would be good for the tom to get some fresh air in the forest. "A hunting patrol. If Foxpelt refuses ask him how else he will ensure his mate gets the best prey." He said. He knew it wasn't his job to put cats in patrols, but he wanted the best for each cat.

Barkfur nodded. "Yes, it would be nice." He said. He padded past Rabbittail, letting their pelts brush as he went to sit in front of the rock for ceremonies and patrol organizing.

Hollyheart gnawed at a bone boredly. She couldn't talk to the apprentices, they were all busy. She didn't want to go back the medicine den either. The two toms struggling with flirting was just unbearable.

Hazelpaw looked up at Sunpaw and frowned. She looked at Sootpaw, who seemed to have instantly become happier. Hazelpaw flattened her ears to her head and took another bite out of the squirrel. She didn't bother to listen to what Sunpaw said.

Sunpaw smiled. "I want to read cats' minds!" He said, purring. He sat down in front of the two. "If I do get that power, I can finally find out who has a crush on me!" He joked. He was quite interested on who his options were, but he didn't think anyone did.

Leopardflight stared down at the tom questioningly. "Right. We're probably going to be training today, but we should go find out if Fawnleap will send us on a patrol." He said, padding over to where Barkfur was sitting.

Leafheart nodded. "Alright." She said. "You should get to your mentor." She said, padding over to the elders' den. She sat next to Leafsong and began eating, their pelts rubbing. She hoped the she-cat would wake up and they could share tongues, something they normally did since her mate slept so much.

Pigeoncloud flicked his ear, slightly annoyed that the tom had ruined the moment. He 'sighed, his back slouched. He truly didn't know how Pinetail felt. He knew the tom could feel pain, but could he feel emotional pain? Pigeoncloud frowned as the sky clouded. His power was so annoying sometimes. He didn't want cats to know what he was feeling all the time.

Spottedpelt yawned. "I can get it. You should go and see if you're going to be sent on patrol." She purred, nuzzling Foxpelt, then shooing him away. She stared at the prey pile and wondered which animal she would choose.

"Right. Barkfur why don't you take your apprentice and Rabbittail on a border control. Foxpelt you can take Leopardflight and Robinpaw hunting with you. You can catch Spottedpelt something good." She added before he could argue.

The tom went back to his herbs, frowning as he stared at them. They seemed in a peculiar pattern. Looking closely, he tensed up as it seemed to create a picture of a bird flying up to the clouds. Did it refer to Pigeonclouds? He tried to study it more but a sudden cold breeze in the cave blew and caused his herbs to scatter. "Fox dung!"

Getting up, she went over and heard Fawnpelt getting patrols ready. "I can join the hunting patrol if you want." She smiled when Fawnpelt nodded her head.

Sitting by the warrior den, she let out a yawn as cats gathered to hear the patrols. She was assigned to the noon border patrol with Pigeoncloud and Eaglewing.

The tom reluctantly left Spottedpelts side as he was chosen for a hunting patrol. He wanted to argue but Fawnpelt added a good point in. He would catch his mate a juicy piece of prey.

Returning, he sensed the change in weather and frowned. He hadn't felt a storm coming. Noticing Pigeoncloud, he padded over to him. "Something troubling you? Your mood seems......sour." He said, his tone sounding a bit fatherly. He was used to listening to his daughters when they were sad.

Waking up, the tom let out a yawn before standing stiffly. Leaving the den, he brushed his tail under Leafsongs chin, waking her up. They gave each other a loving look before he went to the fresh-kill pile.

Shimmerstar stood up and padded over to his apprentice. "Hazelpaw, do you want to get Eaglewing and train with us? Sunpaw, you should go herb hunting with Hollyheart." He said, looking over at the Medicine cat. She looked incredibly zoned out and she seemed sad about something. It would be good for her to get away from camp.

"Oof!" Barkfur muttered as the tom landed on him. He wondered if Rabbittail was trying to flirt with him, or if he was just being playful. "We're not supposed to find anything other than bugs and plants. That's good." He said, looking around for his apprentice. He spotted her, with Sunpaw. He caught her eye and gave her a get-over-here-or-face the-consequenses look.

Hollyheart sat for a while, ignoring the patrols being called out. Her mind was racing and she tried to think about herbs but all she could hear was Robinpaw's name being said over and over by someone, who was it? She couldn't see, she couldn't think, she was blind, deaf to the real world, senseless, helpless, hopeless - She sneezed, snapping out of her trance. She blinked and looked up at Pinetail, who was glaring at something. She sighed, wondering if she should find out what was wrong. She stood up and started padding towards him, when Sunpaw suddenly blocked her way. She rolled her eyes and looked down at him questioningly.

Hazelpaw nodded and looked around for her mentor. She spotted him talking to Pigeoncloud and padded towards him, stopping just out of earshot. She knew she might get in trouble if she eavesdropped on her mentor.

Sunpaw nodded. "Yes Shimmerstar." He said, standing up. He waved his tail in farewell to the others and looked around for Hollyheart. He saw the she-cat stand up and start walking, so he quickly sped over to stand in front of her. She blinked down at him, looking confused. He cleared his throat. "Shimmerstar sent me to collect herbs with you." He said. Hollyheart sighed. "Fine, let's go." She said. The she-cat looked up at something for a moment, then lashed her tail and lead Sunpaw out of the cave.

Leopardflight blinked, his ears flattened against his head. He didn't want Mapleheart to come, but he really did, too. He nodded and forced himself to smile as the she-cat came over. "He-Hey Mapleheart." He said, his voice cracking.

Leafheart frowned. "It's been awful having him around, truly." She said. She normally said these things as jokes, but this time she meant it. They wouldn't take it that way, though... Hopefully. She forced herself to smile, not wanting to offend... Leafsong. She didn't care how Kestrelwing felt.

Pigeoncloud sighed. He looked up as a cat walked into his peripheral vision. He frowned, looking over at Hazelpaw. "I can tell you later. You should train." He said. He looked back outside, seeing the clouds weren't going away. He knew he shouldn't let his emotions - and power - get the better of him like this. But he just felt so sad...

Spottedpelt purred. It would be nice to have time to herself. She grabbed a rabbit and mouse, it was rather a lot of prey, but she felt very hungry. She was feeding more than one cat, afterall. She glanced back up to Pinetail, who was glaring down at something. She hoped he would have time to talk to her about her kits, she was getting impatient.

Watching her leader walk away, she let out a soft sigh as she wished they could talk about other things other than clan business. Seeing her brother looking at herbs angrily, she felt confused but knew it was best not to question it.

Shimmerstar looked down at his apprentice. "We'll be learning how cats like you can fight, even though you're so small." He said. They weren't that small, shorter than most cats, but Shimmerstar was quite tall compared to all the apprentices. He looked up as Hazelpaw padded towards them.

Barkfur purred as he looked down at Sootpaw. "We've been sent on a border patrol. You have to catch some prey and leave it by the border." He said. Rabbittail wanted to see something interesting at the border. Prey was pretty interesting, right? Barkfur shook the tom off and padded to the entrance, beckoning the two after him.

Hollyheart began padding down the mountain with Sunpaw behind her. She listed all the herbs in her head. "We need catmint, juniperberries, and Silvershrooms." She said, referring to the mushrooms growing in the cave containing the Pool of wonder. She wanted to take some to Spottedpelt to make sure her kitting went well. The Silvershrooms went bad a few days after being picked, but Hollyheart was sure their effects would last long enough the she-cat to have her kits.

Hazelpaw purred. "Shimmerstar wants us to go training with him and Halfpaw." She said. She waved her tail and went back to the two, sitting down so Eaglewing could say farewell to Pigeoncloud.

Sunpaw followed Hollyheart, making sure to keep the names in the back of his mind. He was quite excited to go to the Pool of Wonder. He hadn't been there since Rabbittail showed him the territory, which seemed like seasons ago.

Leopardflight cleared his throat. "Right, let's go to the training area and see what we can scent. After that let's go to the river." He said, trying to act confident. Without waiting for a reply, he padded towards the entrance, stopping halfway there to look back at his patrol, avoiding eye contact with Mapleheart.

Leafheart stared at the two unhappily for a while, before standing up. She padded straight to the entrance and left the cave. She was taken back by the cold, her thin, dull coat not doing much good. She turned towards the cave containing the Pool of Wonder and padded inside. It was much warmer here and she warily walked down the path to the water. She lapped some up and lay down in one of the nests, closing her eyes. She had to talk to her brother.

Pigeoncloud stared out into the distance. Would he really tell Eaglewing what he felt? Or would he have to make something up? Would the tom understand? It wasn't exactly everyday a cat fell for a medicine cat. Especially when there were plenty of warriors he could love, without breaking any codes.

Spottedpelt purred. "Yes, let me finish my meal, then you can check. I'm so excited to have kits, It'll be truly amazing to be a mother!" She exclaimed. She cleared her throat. "I suppose I already am a mother, I just haven't met my kits yet." She added, taking another bite out of her prey. Once she had finished she carefully stood up and padded towards the nursery, waving her tail for Pinetail to follow.

As everyone began their tasks, she decided to get some sleep since she planned to lead the dusk patrol. Letting out a soft yawn, she turned and headed to her nest in the warriors den.

The tom let out a soft purr,"They will be here before you know it." He said as he sat down, letting her eat. Once she was done, he followed her to the nursery. "Foxpelt is excited and anxious. Every morning he waits by the nursery for you to wake up. Now lie on your side." He instructed as he sat down, ready to feel her stomach.

Following Leopardflight, she fluffed her fur up a bit as they walked out of the cave. The morning air was a bit chilly but it wasn't bad.

"Okay Barkfur." She didn't mind border patrol as she got to see more of the territory. Also it gave her a chance to stretch her legs and work on memorizing the land better.

"I'm not that small!" She protested as she puffed her chest out. "I'm already taller than Sootpaw!" She wasn't that much taller than her sister but she still took it as a sort of victory. "You are tall to begin with."

Noticing Leafheart walking out, he wondered where she was going. For some reason, the elder wouldn't talk to him much but seemed to talk to his mate quite a bit. He let it go as he figured it was a she-cat thing.

Finishing her portion, she swiped her tongue over her lips before settling more against his side, enjoying the warmth. "Maybe we should take a nice wall later. Won't do us good to always stay in the cave."

Shimmerstar looked down at Hazelpaw for a moment, feeling very proud of his daughter. "Right." He said standing up. "Actually, I was the runt of my litter." He said. Barkfur was always much taller than him. "I suppose becoming leader just makes you feel taller? I don't know how I became physically taller though." He murmured. His parents were quite tall, after all. He glanced back at Hazelpaw, wanting to ask her things. Did she have a tom-friend yet?

Barkfur waved his tail at Rabbittail in dismissal. He looked around for a bit, then decided they would head towards where the sun rose. He frowned, noticing the clouds. He hoped it wouldn't rain...

Hollyheart turned to pad down the path to the Pool of Wonder. She blinked in surprise as Leafheart walked past her. What had she been doing in there? Hollyheart had just seen her this morning, when did she go?

Hazelpaw noticed her father staring at her and stuck her tongue out at him, forgetting she would get in trouble for that. She stood up, ready to leave already.

Sunpaw went to the side of the path for Leafheart to get past him. He didn't question why she was there, it was probably where elders went. "What are Silvershrooms for?" He asked Hollyheart. "Some say they are the blessings of the ancients. Queens eat them to have kits, Leaders eat them for battle. It ensures anyone great results when doing a certain task. It can also be fed to the ill or put on wounds to stop infection. They don't bloom very often, but we have planted many. They taste delicious." Hollyheart replied, walking through a tunnel. Sunpaw gasped as they padded into the cave. It was beautiful. Hollyheart did not change her expression.

Leopardflight fluffed his fur up, feeling it brush against something. He blushed wildly as he realized his fur had brushed Mapleheart's and he shuffled to the side. He had forgotten how long her fur was. He looked back at Robinpaw, unimpressed. "What's the prize?" He asked curiously.

Leafheart blinked awake. She smiled, changed by the experience. She jumped up and quickly trotted out of the cave. She passed Hollyheart and Sunpaw, but wasn't going back to camp. She began running, racing down the mountain and into the forest, dodging and leaping over obstacles. She wasn't really going anywhere, but running felt good. She was full of energy and able to do anything - then it wore off. She halted and breathed heavily. She had run far. Too far, probably.

Pigeoncloud waved his tail at the tom in farewell and sighed. He had to go on a patrol later, so he padded to his nest and lay down, glad to not have to talk to Pinetail. Had he ruined everything, even his friendship with Pinetail? Would telling Eaglewing make the tom hate him?

Spottedpelt nodded and lay in her nest. She placed a paw on her belly instinctively, but forced it away. She had done it to protect herself from dangers, but the only danger in the nursery was being allergic to feathers. She sighed. "He's very... Loving." She said, struggling to find the right words to describe her mate's... Obsession? With making sure she was okay.

"A lot of toms act like this when they are about to become fathers. He is just worried about you. I am just glad he is showing interest when some cats don't seem to care about their mates having kits." He carefully pressed his paws to her stomach, feeling around but was careful not to hurt her. "Alright. I can feel them." He felt one move and was glad that they seemed somewhat energetic. It was a good sign. ((How many kits do you want? I just want to rp one))

Ears twitching at the sounds in the forest, she felt her fur brush something and realized it was Leopardflight. Before she could react, he moved to the side and she felt worried. Did he not like her? Why else would he move away so quickly?

Watching Leopardflight and Robinpaw, he saw the mischievous look on his nephews face. It seemed the apprentice had something in mind and he curiously pricked his ears forward. When he heard what he said, he let out a soft chuckle of amusement.

He flicked Halfpaw's ear with his tail before lightly cuffing Hazelpaw. "Show your leader respect." Despite the action, his tone held a hint of amusement in it. Releasing her, he padded towards the entrance of the cave. "Lets get going."

Smiling, the tom gave him a mischievous look before glancing at Mapleheart. "Winner gets a lick on the cheek from Mapleheart!" He quickly said before turning tail and darting off. "It starts now!" He wondered how hard his mentor would try to win.

Flicking her head as her ear was flicked, she lightly swatted at her fathers tail. "I am going to be an amazing fighter!" She proclaimed with a flick of her tail.

Shimmerstar purred as Eaglewing punished Hazelpaw. She was his daughter, but she couldn't do anything she wanted. He sighed softly, reminded of Hazelpaw's mother, Hazelheart. Shimmerstar shook his head, clearing away the memories as he padded after Eaglewing. He looked down at Halfpaw and tilted his head. "Are you?" He asked, hoping she didn't think he doubted her ambitions.

Barkfur heard his apprentice's words. At least she didn't dislike him. He was kind of dreading mentoring her for six more moons. After all, he wanted time to spend with Rabbittail and maybe find out the tom's true feelings.

Hollyheart was not impressed by the cave or the pool of wonder. She came here every halfmoon and saw the same plants, the same pool. Nothing interesting seemed to happen here anymore. But, she did like meeting the ancestors. They were all very kind. She padded down the path and towards the plants. Picking a few and holding them in her mouth, she waved her tail for Sunpaw to do the same.

Hazelpaw struggled a bit, then gave in. "Sorry." She muttered. She sighed and padded behind the others, not wanting to join any conversation. She knew she shouldn't be sulking but she didn't like being told what to do.

Following Hollyheart, Sunpaw was looking around in awe. It was so beautiful. He would only come back here in like... Three moons. He didn't want to wait that long at all. Hollyheart waved her tail at him and he darted forward, grabbing a few in his mouth. Hollyheart turned around to leave and Sunpaw followed. He supposed they would go to the forest next.

Leopardflight flinched. He purred. "At least he's trying to catch prey." He murmured. "Well, I'll go this way." He said, parting off from the two others. They hadn't reached the training area but he needed to catch that prey. He stared up in the trees. He could spot three different squirrels and settled with catching the weakest one. He needed the most, not the best prey, after all. With two swift leaps he was halfway up the huge tree and he went to the branch under the squirrel, padding forward. He positioned himself under the squirrel, who was nibbling at something. He paused, then leaped up onto the branch, grabbing the squirrel and swiftly killing it. He looked around, then spotted another. Leopardflight paused. Could he pounce on it from here? He frowned and climbed up another branch. Yes. He counted down in his head. And.... Now. Leopardflight kicked with his legs as hard as he could, sailing through the air and landing on the squirrel. He held it down with his paw and leaned down, struggling to bite it with the other one in his mouth. Done. He already had two pieces of prey! Two more than Robinpaw!

Leafheart sighed and started walking back to camp. She still felt happy, but she had lost all her energy. Maybe I should get some cat from a patrol to help me back... She shook her head, remembering her brother. "You are strong enough to make it through this, Leafheart." He had told her. He was referring to her feelings for Leafsong, but they applied to her situation.

Pigeoncloud frowned, wanting to cry. He always messed things up like this. He gasped, seeing the last patch of blue from the sky disappear. He even messed up the weather. Pigeoncloud just sighed as it began to lightly rain. No-cat one really notice unless they were paying particular attention. Hopefully.

Spottedpelt sighed. "Yes, I suppose I am lucky." She murmured. She felt something kick at her belly fiercely. "Gosh, they're like little lions." She murmured. She paused. Lion... That would be a good kit name. Or maybe Tigerkit? She supposed they would be ginger, right? Gingerkit? Honeykit? She sighed. She would just have to wait and see.

(I think two. I'm wondering about the names Lionkit and Leopardkit?)
