Bad-luck story: (aka my family's bad choices)
So one time while I was on a cruise in the Caribbean, one of our stops was Cozumel. My family and I then decided to go to the mainland, Cancun. In order to get there, we needed to take a old, small ferry. That would have been fine, if it wasn't for the storm.

As soon as we got off the ship that morning the rain was pouring, the wind was howling, and the day turned to night as the black clouds blocked out the sun's light. We decided to ride the ferry anyway; we paid good money for it. Even just getting in the boat was hard, because the wind and waves rocked it so much. Most of the other guests who scheduled this trip turned back. After the ferry left the dock, I knew the journey would not be a pleasant one.

Fifteen foot tall waves. That's how high they were. That's taller than even the tallest person. I'm not even joking when I say the ferry would rotate to an almost 90 degree angle from the force each and every time one hit it. It was absolutely terrifying. We soon came to know this event as "The Vomit Cruise of 2015". Every single person that got on the boat with us (about 20+ people) threw up whatever they had eaten the night before at least once. Now I don't mean to brag, but my family was the only group that did not throw up during these 30 minutes of pain. I still genuinely feel bad for the poor guys that had obviously partied the night before, who were still recovering from hangovers and thus had much weaker stomachs (one guy threw up about 25 times after I started counting).
The worst part was when we got to the mainland. It was so close, the clouds had parted and the torrent had stopped to reveal our destination, the end to this madness was in sight! However, it was not to be. After another hour of waiting just yards away from Cancun, we heard the news that our ferry wasn't allowed to dock due to the weather. So, we were forced to turn back and travel through even WORSE weather for a half-hour. Everyone was miserable, soggy, dirty, stained with vomit, extremely dizzy, and defeated. Many continued to empty their stomachs long after our journey ended. I decided to rest back on the cruise ship for the rest of the day.

Other: I'm so sorry if there are too many grammar/spelling mistakes! Writing has never been my strong point!
