The Defiant Quill Competition thread

You can feel the gentle pat on your shoulder as dry foliage brushes against you. With no given path, you are free to wander wherever you please in this forest, for it exists for you, though that makes the terrain wild and unexpected, and you find yourself yet again having to carefully adjust your balance on the coarse, uneven tussocks beneath your feet as you press on, purpose firm in your heart but adrift in your mind. The secret whispers of the river to the West, and the murmurs of the green leaves above you seem to tell of compelling tales in a forgotten language. The gnarled bark of the many trees who call this forest home is contorted like an inscription of ancient lore and many mysteries are woven in the landscape, just waiting to be unfurled by a drop of ink and bloom, seeping through page after page.
The monotonous crunch of leaves beneath your feet as you traverse this land finally ceases as you realise you are where you are meant to be. The river dips over a ledge in the form of a small waterfall. Beside it, cast in a green mantle of ivy and guarded by the trees who nestle around it, humbly stands the most important building in this tiny world. Each stone like the words of a book, rough and unique, combine in a unified story to form shelter, a base for creativity. This is it. Welcome to the home of the Defiant Quills.

You're probably wondering where you are at the moment, well this is the home of the Defiant Quills. I'm Pyra, I own the place. What we do here is simple, we write for our own enjoyment. If you don't win, there will be another competition. There will be no "I deserved to win" or "Mine was so much better". I am aware this is similar to rule two, but this is just a reminder.

"This is our point board for members. Every three months the person with the most points will receive the prize that has been collected over that time. For every competition you win you will receive twenty points, for runner ups you will receive ten. If you have sent in a particularly good sample I may also award points. For donations over 15 pets you will receive five points."
