A distracted oriental donned in bright golden silks eyes you out of the corner of
his eye as you pass by his booth. It looks as if he has a bunch of papers in his paws, and he's...
grading them? Wait, cats can have opposable thumbs? He pays more attention to you when you
finally stop, and his piercing gaze trains onto you before it softens in welcome. He offers you a
sheepish smile in apology at his initial rudeness. "Welcome, welcome! Name's Hira. Looks as if
you stumbled across the writing booth. Here, you can write about your SCS adopts and earn
credits in return!" It's here when his grin turns a bit sharp. "Be warned, however! I'm no easy
judge. You'll have to put in some real effort to earn something interesting from me. I have a
very, very short list of things I take seriously. Writing's one of them."

For the more literature-inclined, we have the writing booth for you! Here you can write about your
SCS specific dogs, cats, or any other species using the prompts and get credits in return. I update
the thread every one to three days with one or two prompts to use. Be warned that you only have
that amount of time to finish the prompt for a chance at credits or other prizes!

There's also a signpost in front of the bin that details the requirements for the prompts. Are you up

All the festivities are drawing to a close! How have your pets taken the Diwali event and all of the beautiful lights and events? Was it an experience they won't soon forget, or was it a minor catastrophe in its own right?

Have your pets made any new relationships during the event, or any new rivals or enemies amidst all of the celebration? And if not, have any ties between your pets been strengthened by the emotions brought about by the event? If so, please describe the scene!

on top has the name Kurama printed on the top, and a bit fat F emblazoned on the front.
You cringe in sympathy at the score.

The start of the Diwali is just around the corner! To prepare, the shelter's opened up a
more extensive festival to commemorate the event that celebrates light over dark.
Beautiful lights and decorations are being hung up, pets are donning themselves with
gossamer silks and jewelry, and delicious food is being set out! How is/are your pet(s)

Within the stand, you see gleaming tokens and glittery garmets lying enticingly within a box. You're
tempted to touch, but Hira seems to be eyeing you supiciously. Best not to chance it.

Prizes in the writing booth work primarily on a tiered system, and then increase with wordcount!
You also have a chance at earning "extra credit" based on how impressed Hira becomes with your
story. He collectively "grades" on grammer/spelling, creativity, and elegance/conciseness/effort.
The extra credit is given out based on letter grades! Keep this in mind, however: Hira doesn't
assign a letter grade to each prompt, and he tends to grade fairly harshly. He may not always
give out an A score if he's not suitably impressed!

If you end up landing extra credit, you also have a 25% chance of getting an SCS store item + a credit
amount instead of pure credits! The more pricey the store item, the harder it is to get out of that
1 in 4 chance.

Wordcount Bonus:: For every +100 words --> 10 credits up to 900 words

You take a quick glance at the blank writing forms for the prompt booth. There seems to be two boxes
that you can check off, labled "Nonowner" and "Owner."

Nonowners look no further! You're still welcome to participate in the writing prompts, but in order to do
so, you still need to include an SCS adopt (as a main or sub character) in the prompt. You're welcome to
use any users' SCS adopts in the prompt with permission, but if you're not sure where to start, the
staff has provided a list of their adopts you can use in the prompts without asking permission! Though,
if you have any further questions about the adopts' personalities, you're free to pm any of the staff
about them.

Please note that a certified SCS adopt MUST come from the Second Chance Shelter! The adopt is
usually indicated by the gray cage background. Please keep this in mind when searching for an SCS
adopt to use!
