Aphidstar shouldered his way through the gathering group of cats, his amber eyes resting on the small kit's broken body. Anger flashed in his eyes at the awful sight, and he quickly swept his bushy tail in front of Whitekit, Poppykit, and Shiverkit. "Blossomkit is going to go see Coldpaw and Soulpaw again. She'll tell them you said hello." The burly leader shot a glare at his only daughter, Echowhisper, as she shouted the obvious. "Not in front of the kits," he hissed softly through gritted fangs. He may be cold-hearted, but he wasn't heartless.

Poppykit almost immediately calmed down at Aphidstar's explanation. 'Oh, okay. When can we go and see them?' She asked curiously, no longer focusing on the distressed group of cats behind her.

Robinfeather's eyes moved to the kits, and he quickly began to make himself calmer. He tried to mew nicely to them "You'll see them every night, playing in the stars." He hoped they wouldn't get what he meant, but he tried to sugar-coat it as much as possible. He looked to Echo as Aphid yelled at her, trying to give her a comforting glance. He shook out his pelt absentmindedly, and went to his den to gather mint and lavender.

Aphidstar blinked thankfully at Robinfeather. He fluffed out his long pelt, and muttered gruffly under his breath. "With these times, you'll be lucky if you don't see them until you reach the elder's den..."

Breezefire suddenly heard shrieks from the nursery. She ran over, seeing Blossomkit, dead on the floor of her den. "Blossomkit?"Why Would anybody kill a kit? she thought. First apprentices and now kits? She couldn't comprehend what Riverclan was up to. She wanted to have Soulpaw revive along with Blossomkit and Coldpaw.

As the tom returned to where the kit lay by the fresh-kill pile, he deeply sighed. He held several mint leaves, and some lavender. He set the herbs down, glancing towards the other warriors to remove the kits from the area. As he prepared the burial, he glanced to a few of the cats standing by. "If you'd like to say anything, now's the time."
