Jaehyuk was quickly pulled from his thoughts by the sound of feet shuffling through the snow followed by a warm voice. He swung the axe one more time, sticking it right into the chopping block before turning on his heels to face the newcomer. "Well hello! Aren't you a bit cold?" he mused, looking her up and down. She was perhaps a tad underdressed for the cooler part of the morning. "It's starting to get pretty freezing nowadays, maybe an extra layer or something would do you good. Y'want some gloves? Or how 'bout my scarf, since I'm wearing a turtle-neck anyway."
Typical Hyuk, offering things to a person whose name he didn't even know. He was already taking off the garment draped around his neck, ready to give it to her. He was still feeling well-insulated with a couple sweaters and a long-sleeved shirt. Plus he'd been moving around, so it wasn't as if he couldn't give up a scarf. But if he had just made things awkward, he was oblivious to it.

Kai honestly wasn't sure what to do with himself these days. After all his efforts to escape Finland, he only ended right back up in the cold. The irony of it was what killed him, and then, of course, the fact that it had happened in freaking July. He wondered if after winter passed the cold would go away. He wondered if he'd even still be alive. He hummed a little in annoyance as he sat in his chair. He was hanging out in the library more often but wasn't really reading books. Maybe he should. He lifted himself out of the seat and walked around a while, only to eventually find himself in front of the bathroom of all places.
He was nearly hit by the door opening and jumped back in surprise. He recognized the guy who had exited, was it-- Ethan? Eli? "Evan," yes, that was it, "'scuse me, dude." Kai didn't actually have to go to the bathroom, but now that he had shown up in front of the door and someone was there he pretty much had no choice. He grabbed the door but stopped abruptly. "Whoa, you smell like my dad on gambling night. You been drinking?" If there was a smell he'd always be able to detect, it was alcohol. Kai didn't really get into drinking since he became of age, but he wasn't going to judge.

although riley knew that her friend was correct, his honest answer still irritated her slightly. she wanted to be able to go out and help fetch things, instead of being confined to the insides of the faction camp. there were three other medics to take her place in case anything happened to her. but she knew it was best to not leave the camp, she wasn't as skilled as the deliverers were, and she probably wouldn't offer much help to them.

"baka," she responded teasingly, the extent to which her knowledge of other languages didn't reach much further than swear words. tightening her grip on the fluffy orange blanket that she had wrapped around herself as her earlier announced fashion statement, riley made her way past rein's small frame and out into the snowscape. "come onnnnn, we gotta goooooo," she whined playfully, looking around her surroundings to see if there was anyone she knew, "we gotta go find your crushhhhh."

Lexani shook her head and smiled. "No,
I'm fine", she replied to his first question. Her eyes averted to the tree he was chopping and she then looked back to see him offering clothing to her. "Uh, sure I guess. It is pretty cold anyways", she accepted the scarf and wrapped it around her neck, quickly feeling the warmth of it.
Lexani stuffed her hands in her pocket, her teeth chattering a bit but then she looked back up. "What's you name?", Lexani asked.

Turning his head to look back at Riley, Rein sighed softly at his friend's expression. He knew that the fact she wasn't able to help as much as possible was frustrating for her, and he hated reminding her that she couldn't, but it had to be done sometimes. While he knew it would irritate her, he also knew it was for the best and of people that would be upset if anything were to happen to her.

Rein jostled back to reality when Riley pushed past him and into the outside world as well. He took a few moments to snap back to reality, he was really beginning to feel the fatigue of staying up all night, and quickly shut the door behind them. "Damare." A small smile played on his pink lips at Riley's Japanese, finding her accent coupled with the foreign language amusing, but his smile almost immediately turned into a protesting pout. "I-I don't have a crush!" Rein shuffled after his taller friend, his cheeks just as pink as his blanket (if anyone were to ask he'd say it's from the cold), grumpy pout still in place.

Jaehyuk smiled brightly and gave her a nod. "No problem," he murmured. He crossed his arms and swayed from side to side, teetering on his feet. "Jaehyuk, but to be honest most people opt to use either just Jae or Hyuk. And, uh, what about you? Your name, I mean." Hyuk treasured simple moments like these, they always reminded him to smile despite their situation. He loved to meet new people and it was nice to have a bit of calm in the middle of such a ruthless winter. He still wondered how on Earth the snow had happened. There was a hundred questions that just hadn't been answered. The boy wiggled his shoulders, as if he was shaking the thoughts off. He hated thinking about why when he should be focusing on making the best of what was going on.

Lexani repeated his name in her head so that she would be able to remember him. "I'm Lexani, I don't mind if you give me a nickname", she replied giving a slight nod. Her hair flew a bit in the chilly breezes that came by occasionally.
Tucking a hair piece behind her ear, she decided to speak up. "Do you just cut wood around here?", she asked curiously. Her head tilted to the side as he eyes trailed down, checking the male out.
He seemed pretty tall, nice pale skin, cute. Lexani blushed at her thoughts but quickly touched her cheeks in attempt to hide the blush.

riley raised a rather messy eyebrow in response to rein's unconvinving comment about his supposed lack of romantic feelings towards a particular townie boy. the list of things the medic girl was annoyed by was rather extensive, and although her untidy and unwaxed eyebrows were not too high on that list, they were still a nuisance. shaking the vain thought out of her mind, riley reminded herself of the mantra she'd been repeating for days on end; there was no point in dwelling on the past, just look towards the future.

heading down the snow coated path towards the town hall with her good friend in tow, riley let her mind wander. there was a lot to think about, considering the circumstances. out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a familiar figure. "good morning ethan," she greeted, the brunette known for her easy going nature and friendly approach. she was aware that the advisor wasn't particularly emotional, but she saw absolutely nothing wrong in showing compassion, even if it wasn't returned.

Rein sighed and followed after Riley silently, still clutching the blanket to his body as close as possible to suppress the shivers wracking his body. He was battling with the cold already and he hadn't been outside for more than 10 minutes. Pathetic. His inner voice spat at him, but he ignored it as much as possible. Ever since he was a child, he'd developed a bad habit of being hypercritical of himself, as he was mostly alone and tended to dwell on his insecurities.

Rein was hauled out of his thoughts when Riley came to a stop infront of him. He immediately shied away from the other person, using his friend's height to an advantage and slipping behind her and, hopefully, out of sight. He wasn't one for talking to people he hardly knew because he usually ended up embarrassing himself, and his accent did nothing but hinder his confidence. But over the time he's known Riley and the other friends he's grown close to, he has come out of his shell a bit more. As Riley made conversation, his eyes drifted towards a certain townie, who happened to be talking to a very pretty girl, and his cheeks gained more colour. His fatigue started to take over again, and Rein seemed to zone out, lost in thought, but unknowingly still staring in the general direction of Jaehyuk and Lexani.

De smiled at the duo, letting out a small laugh before waving as they left. They were adorable... and It was good to find some happiness in such serious and dire times. She looked around and sighed softly. No one seemed to be around right now... Laney could let her guard down a little finally... The blue haired girl pulled her knees up to her chest and rested her head on top of them, peacefully staring into the fires as she eat some food, just picking at it as she watched the flames flicker.

Evan jumped a little as he bumped into a brunette. He staggered back a little then let out an awkward laugh. "Sorry dude!" He looked the guy over a little bit, recognition flashing in it brain. Kai... Kai was his name. He just nodded a little and smiled, moving out of his way. At the dad comment he sighed a little and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I haven't really been dealing with all of this very well... but I'm gonna stop drinkin. I can't keep doing it so heavily. I'm no help to the group and if anything, we need all the people we can to make sure everything works out at least okay." He sighed, feeling the self-disappointment leak back into his heart. He smiled softly then sighed again, looking away. "Well, I'm gonna go see if Delaney's found and ax or something and try to cut down a tree or something. We need some wood. Maybe if we find something you might wanna join me?" He asked, smiling at the man.

"Meh." He replied before adding "It's too cold for me to sleep usually, plus Blizzard likes to huddle under my blanket and he's always moving to a different place because apparently nothing is comfy enough." Mason looked over at Cici, who was trying to climb into one of the book shelves, presumably to knock everything she could down. Letting out a big sigh, the ravenette leaned forward and grabbed the black cat, placing her back down next to him. "Not again Cici! You almost knocked a bookcase down on someone last time..." he groaned, petting her soft black fur as she circled around and meowed at him before laying down.

Lillian sat up in bed, sighing. "Mr.Snuggums.... I gotta go get food..." She sighed, frowning. Pushing her blanket off of her, she started to shiver. It was cold in her apartment, but no where near as cold as it was outside. She quickly got dressed in legging, a pair of jeans, two pairs of sicks, boots, a tank top, a sweater, a hoodie, and a jacket. The blonde then put on a hair, wrapped a Hufflepuff scarf around her neck. She then shoved on a pair of gloves and she sighed as she looked outside the window. "I'll be back Mr.Snuggums." She told him, tucking the stuffed bunny back into bed before heading out her door.

She sighed happily a moment, snuggling into her jacket before taking it off and hanging it up. It was warmer inside here. Looking around, she knew she had to head to find where Asher was. It was her job to help him enforce to the rules and if anyone had a problem, she would help if anything physical happened. She walked into the room the River, Asher, Twig, and Kat were in and she looked around for a moment before standing against the wall, her arms crossed.

Jaehyuk thought for a moment while he matched her name to her face. "Lexani... Lexani... how 'bout Lexi?" he asked, raising an eyebrow for her opinion. He always had a personal preference for short names, so he would usually use one if it was an option. He'd stopped swaying and shoved his hands in his pockets, giving her a wide-eyed look. As a frown crept onto his face, he feigned hurt.
"Just cut wood?" His mouth hung open in fake disbelief. "I'm not some lumberjack, y'know. Chopping wood isn't my primary function. My other pastimes include eating, sleeping, having fun, and fixing things." He let out a giggle, breaking the serious tone he had to laugh at his own playfulness. He completely overlooked Lexani's blush, instead resting his hands on his hips with a smile. "To actually answer your question, though, I'm learning how to build traps so that I might help out with the food supply." It wouldn't be much, but it gave him something to do.

Whatever sort of response Kai was expecting, that was certainly not it. He wasn't sure why he made the comment in the first place, but now Evan was telling him how he was going to quit drinking. Thinking of his father, he tried to hold back a scoff. "Good luck with that." Evan wasn't wrong, it really didn't do anyone any good if he drank, but Kai doubted the other man would be able to give it up so easily. He just didn't share the enthusiasm. He supposed he shouldn't really care.
A new question was posed, giving Kai a chance to slip out of the awkward bathroom situation. He thought about the offer for a few seconds before nodding. "Sure, whatever, she might have something for me to do." Which would be great, because he hated being holed up inside. "Just lemme uh, wash my hands first." And with that, he slipped into the bathroom to give his hands a good rinse. He would pass that off as his unspoken reason for being around the restrooms. Kai was back outside with Evan before long, gesturing for him to lead the way.
