The pack of Stinging Wind
Number of Dogs: 1

The leonberger treaded along rock, the rough claws of her paws making clicking noises as it collided with the cool, hard surface under her. She raised her head, taking in the smells carried by the air up here. Molly... no. Her name was not Molly anymore. Her name now would be Lupus. She was now a wild animal like her distant ancestors. An animal that would fight for survival, hunt and defend her territory. Overcome with the sense of freedom, she reared up onto her hind legs, letting out a mighty howl with her head thrown back to send her joy to the sky and let her be heard. This was her territory now. Cold wind blew into her ears, pulling them back with rough force, but it couldn't get through thick fur which kept her warm.
After bellowing out her joy to the world, the shaded sable continued on her way, climbing and cautiously making her way down slopes and low ledges as she searched for a place to call home. Eventually she found one. A cave. A roomy cave with a couple side chambers. Wagging her thick furred tail, she sniffed around, checking the place out, concluding that one chamber would be her nesting place, another would be the future nursery. The rest could sleep in the main part. Or so was the plan. Poking her head out, she saw a passage that also led into stone, but as she squeezed through, she found that it seemed a more insulated place as well. It was dark, but...she could find a use for it. Perhaps this could be the nursery instead...and the other chamber back in the main cave could be for a shaman. But it wasn't the time to worry about this yet. She needed to figure out where and how to set borders. She marked them along a forested territory below, knowing that mountains were no good during the winter. It would be far too cold then. Now it was time to set mountain borders...
And so Lupus set out for another journey. Along rock she moved once more, she saw large birds soaring through the sky, large animals with giant horns and even saw a huge cat try to snatch one of their young before being knocked away by one of them down a slope. And yet she kept out of harms way as she set good places for borders. Admittedly, it was difficult to find landmarks to help up here. On her way, she grew hungry and searched for a, hopefully not too dangerous morsel to eat. One day she could make a pack that would make even wolves cower, but for now she would have to fend for herself and try not to die before she set the base of a group of fearsome beasts that could truly say they were dogs and not oversized rabbits.

Current Season: Summer
Weather Report: Now that summer is finally here, deer have retreated back to their nesting spots farther up north. There may still be a couple, though both catching and finding one would be rare. Sunlight is peer through each and every branch, through the now fully-bloomed leaves that are strung across the trees. Be warned, for in this time there is more humans about aswell as predators.

Territory

Blue Moon Kennels are situated on a hilled area in the forest. There is thick foliage and plenty of animals such as deer and birds forage on the forest floor. The ground is soft and fertile, and the lower slope of the hill is covered in moss and ferns where it meets a small natural lake.

Several times per year, flowers bloom on the trees overhead, giving the area a whimsical quality.

Reputation

This Kennel is known for being determined and high-strung. They may not always be able to accomplish their goals by brute strength, but their determination will keep them trying until they collapse, giving every ounce of energy to the cause.

They are fiercely loyal and often form close bonds with one another that are even deeper than the bond to their pack, and this can make them seem clique-ish and unwelcoming. Sure enough, they tend to be distrusting of outsiders and make snap judgements, but those who pass that first assessment are usually in the clear.

These canines are used to working hard and going against obstacles - many of them have direct experience with large animals, and this gives them a keen instinct for interactions that could go in either direction.

Dogs

The dogs themselves typically contain some blue in their coloration. Often the eyes, the coat, or even the nose and paw pads may be blue. Their coats are usually heavily patterned, either merle or brindle.

Traits that are rarely seen but considered beautiful are feathering on the ears - legs - tail, tails curled over the back, and blue tongues.

Otherwise their appearance varies considerably- there are smooth furred dogs and those with shaggier coats - although none have long hair - they may have pointed or floppy ears, and their muzzled may be long and pointed or blunt and powerful.

Though there is no particular breed, most of them are hunting or gundog type breeds, able to travel anywhere, and find game in a forest. The Mentality
Being quite sheltered and generally away from other packs and kennels, and even humans, the dogs don't actively avoid other beings, but they don't seek them out either. They will help another dog or animal in need, but won't go too out of their way to do so, mainly in the thought that if they hurt themselves helping another, they cannot then help the pack. They are all quite close, and well-bonded, but they are quite tolerant and welcoming of those who request to join, who can contribute something to the well-being of the pack.

The Territory
Pack Of The Silver River lives in a territory with much variety. Their den is a rather large cave at the base of a cliff, hollowed out in the days when the river they live by was ten times it's current size. A large, silver river weaves through their territory, and from it the pack takes it's name. The river only runs swiftly in the spring, when the snowmelt rushes down from the mountains to flood the river. At these times, all dogs younger than three are forbidden to leave the den, except with the direct supervision of another, older dog.

With the territory, comes many animals for prey, such as rabbits, hares, squirrels, birds, deer and of course any fish that are foolish enough to get caught.

The Dogs
The dogs of Pack Of The Silver River are strong, agile dogs, many of who are naturally good swimmers. Vizslas, golden retrievers, labs, many types of retrievers and spaniels are common to see around camp. Some of the best members are gun dogs who are able to run through the ever changing territory with ease, and navigate the river with little difficulty as they pursue their prey. (If their leader could be a Vizsla, or munsterlander, that would be awesome!)

The Mentality
The dogs of Pack Of The Silver River are very accepting, welcoming all kinds of dogs into their pack, even if they aren't exactly suited to the terrain. They are not against inter-pack relationships, and can often be found along their borders, chatting with other packs. They know their limits however, and any dog found trespassing on another pack's territory without permission will be severely punished.

"Rest well Maia.." Elan said softly as he helped her into the den, setting up mosses and grass to try to make the pup-mother as comfortable as possible. She reached up and gave a lick on his fur in gratitude, her eyes shining. Thank you for not attacking me back there."
Just then, a small yip came from the entrance of the den, and in came Nemell, bouncing at Elan's paws.
"Elan! After I learn the next skill, I'll be ready to become an ironteeth!" He yipped in excitement, and Elan looked down in pride, as if a father would to his pup.
You'll still have alot to learn. He laughed, looking at Maia once more, he turned around, signalling with his tail for Nemell to follow him.

Number of Dogs: 1

The sun is low in the sky, casting long shadows that melt into each other and signal the start of night. Osiris has been walking for days and his most recent foray has led him here, to a small lake surrounded by moss and ferns. The soft ground eases the big dog's aching paw pads and he pauses a moment, allowing his claws to sink into the earth.

He stays here for some time, sheltered from the sun's dying rays by trees covered in small pink flowers. Their delicate petals litter the forest floor, looking for all the world like a blanket of spun sugar. The merled blue fur over Osiris's ribs is just a thin layer, lean and hard from his active lifestyle. If he wants to maintain his strength, he will have to eat soon.

The smooth Border Collie shakes himself off, trying to make himself fresh and alert for what comes next. With his head lowered and nose twitching toward the ground, He heads further up the sloping hill to see what lies between the maze of trees.

"You're filthy and disgusting, Lucian." Nessie snapped, hackles raising aggressively as her darkened amber eyes locked onto the cold yellow orbs of her former partner. The two's normal argument that they often experienced had escalated, and it was becoming close to out of hand.

"Oh, and you don't think your worse?" He challenged, digging his front paw into the ground with unneeded force.

"Worse than you?" She scoffed, "Not even in your wildest dreams."

"The only time when I'd see you in my sleep is if I had a nightmare." Lucian growled back, voice rumbling with anger. He kept a focused gaze on Nessie as she too growled, though was suddenly taken off guard as something moved in the bushes a few feet away.

The two quieted down almost immediately, taking a defensive stance and carefully stepping forwards to the bushes. It was clear that another was there, the air tinged with a metallic, rusty scent of another dog. It was a terrible scent, one that reminded both Nessie & Lucian very distinctly of blood.

Suddenly, a tough, scar-ridden rottweiler jumped out, teeth gnashing wildly over anything that it could find. The brute gave both of them a look of warning, his deep brown eyes flashing with malice. He was clearly in pursuit, a dangerous enemy by all means. Lucian was already bleeding, snagged by the rouge's teeth on his shoulder. His beta, Nessie, lunged at the male with bared teeth. Her lips peeled back into a snarl, and she growled dangerously at the aggressive rouge who snapped at her face, roaring with anger. He lifted himself to his back paws, which forced Nessie to tighten her grip onto the Rottweiler's flesh. As his paws collided with the soil once again, Nessie was flung off his back and thrown into the dirt.

Her body lay crumpled in the lush ferns of the rocky alpine forest, not moving for a moment before letting out a pained exhale. The black and white border collie got to her feet weakly, her left eye blinded by the crimson stream of blood that trickled from her forehead. She swung her head to Lucian, who was cowering in a corner and trying to back up further. "Lucian!" She cried, her voice hoarse. "Lucian for the stars sake help me!" She watched in anger as he didn't move, though the rouge seemed to notice him and barrel towards him.

the pack was alive with drama as the summer finally revealed itself to them, dogs were on edge and tense at this time. halcyon's litter was appointed tenderpaws and ace was even blessed to be his son's mentor. Plus, his calmer, more shy brother, noble, was now the shaman's tenderpaw. It was a honour, truly, and one of the only things of light at this time in the pack's history. word easily spread about what had happened with Nessie & Lucian, though Nessie had yet to share the fact that the male hadn't helped his beta in the fight against the rouge. The rouge, who was named kaiser, turned out to be a rather quiet dog, though nonetheless snappy. Still, he was a great asset to the pack. He was slowly being taught the ways of the strict pack, though dogs didn't seem to be very careful about hiding their emotions towards him after hurting their beta.

lucian rested in the large den of the shamans, were he was expected to be sleeping soundly instead of grumbling to himself. truly, his body was filled to the top with malice. he was furious after how openly nessie had spoken about their bickering, though worried if she would speak so openly about how he didn't go to aid her in the fight. if she did, he would become omega without a doubt, or, even worse, be exiled. he needed to do something, and fast. his front paws dug into the bedding of the nest he was ordered to stay in, ripping pieces of the fur from the skinned pelt almost without noticing. his mind wandered, and his eyes darkened as he thought further. it was so suddenly that a idea came to mind, one that his heart tugged at desperately to get away from. but, it was no use, for he was already swallowed in this corrupted darkness to come back up. he was already making his way to the medicine store, searching for nightshade or something similar to it. his mustard-yellow eyes suddenly locked onto them, three tiny seeds.
