The Kennel of No Stars is known for being called the rejects of the humans since where they live there are humans everywhere. They are not the kindest dogs and are quick to attack due to their territory declining at a shocking rate. These dogs are kind and caring to each other, but not to other kennels. To become an irontooth in this kennel, a tenderpaw must bring down a mountain goat alone and bring it back. Generally, it is a matter of pride how big the catch is, but there are situations in which dogs may overestimate themselves and take on more than they can. In such a case, they do not receive help. For smaller dogs, they compete with larger tenderpaws in hunting and combat to prove that their small size does not stop them from being capable of handling being a full member.

After a ceremony is performed, the dogs howl, mimicking wolves as an attempt to strike fear into the hearts of their neighbours.

Main prey: Mountain goat (or bighorn sheep) (adult or billy/lamb), (mule) deer, hare, rabbit as well as mice, pika, chipmunks for smaller dogs. In the forest below they may find squirrels and hunt birds, although the variety is small as the forest is mostly a winter home. The dogs may sometimes also munch on a lizard, but few enjoy it. It is also possible to see them tear even large birds from the sky as they swoop to catch prey for themselves and get caught.

Threats: Cougars, birds of prey and coyotes (to small dogs and pups), rams/bighorn sheep (just horned mammals in general like moose or elk too) and even black bears

Number of Dogs: One

Sunny ran through the forest, her forest, happiness rushing through her. She had never felt so free. So alive. She had been trapped in her masters yard for soooo long. But finally, finally, she was free. Free to do what she wanted, whenever she wanted. She was free to be her own master. And that thought made her happy. She began to slow down, skidding into her camp of a sorts. She began to lay down when she realized something. She needed to check her borders, just in case any dogs who seeked freedom as well were waiting. And with that, Sunny set off again, to look for someone to share this new found freedom with.

Mousie was just happy to help.

Blue growled. "Alright Jaxxie. It's led to all this. Today, you're learning determination. You, me, and Hopper are going after that badger."

Raleigh watched the trio leave. "Alright, you know the drill", she barked to the remaining dogs.

Swinging Blades

Number of Dogs: 8 Males_ 5 Females_ 13 Total
Tobias walks through the long grass of the valley. He stops to rest at the lake and drinks from it. He hears footsteps and voices from behind him. "Hello?" he asks.
The rustling grass gets louder and a cream border collie, greenland dog, and a shiba inu emerge. Summer, seeing the newcomer/ trespasser growls. "What are you doing on my territory?"
Tobias answers "I'm just passing through. I'm heading toward the mountains. I didn't know that there was a kennel here."
"There is a powerful kennel called the Swinging Blades and I am their alpha. You either leave my territory now or I'll chase you out."
Tobias smiled. "I like your spirit. My name is Tobias. I'm usually not one for pack life but I'm willing to settle down. I've been traveling by myself for a while. I'd like to join your kennel."
Summer stopped growling and looked over the brown dog. She finally said "That's fine. Come with me and I will show you the territory. I'm Summer."
Tobias walked next to the alpha. They were the same height. He inched closer to Summer as they walked on. Summer didn't approve or disprove his actions but it was clear that she had an irritated demeanor. The rest of the patrol followed, Keesha walking next to Tobias and and Blitz walked next to Summer.

One month later.
Summer called Dimitri and Keesha for a private meeting. The two dogs walked over to the border collie. "What do you want to talk to us about Summer?" Dimitri asked.
"Dimitri, I want you and Keesha to scout out the other kennel. Spy on them and report back to me about the number and size of the dogs and where their camp is."
"Won't we be seen or caught?" Keesha asks.
"Not if you leave at night. Dimitri's coat is black so it will blend in with the shadows and bend moonlight off it. And you are our smallest member and are so hard to spot. Go and investigate our neighboring kennel."
"Right."
Callie walked over to Kota who was resting in his bed of padded grass. Lekkar had treated his wounds with cobwebs and the bleeding stopped. His ear was permanently torn. Callie sat down. "How are you feeling Kota?"
"I need a little more rest but after that I will be fine."
"I hate that Summer attacked you like that. She was your beta and she backstabbed you. I can't believe her!"
"Don't talk about our alpha that way. If she was able to beat me in a fight, then it only makes our kennel stronger. What would have happened if she wasn't apart of our kennel? At least we now have a strong leader who will take control of the kennel."
Outraged, Callie barked "She made you an omega! She demoted you from the highest rank to the lowest. Do you understand what that means? You will be treated horribly and will only receive the worst food if at all. That is no way my former alpha should be treated. Omega positions should only be for traitors and captured dogs."
"That is the way that Summer wants to run her kennel. Like it or not, she is the alpha and you have to obey her or you will be punished. I don't want you to feel the consequences for a battle I lost. I am getting older and maybe the alpha position wasn't right for me anymore."
"Don't say that. You could be teaching a new tenderpaw how to fight like a Swinging Blades dog, but now you're stuck at the bottom."
"But I did teach my own tenderpaw and now he will teach the next generation. All of the dogs in the kennel know how to fight as a team and they know how to swing like the grass. That is what I want and I am happy with any way it happens. Summer at least seems like she is going to keep up with the traditions of the kennel. I saw her take a mouse from the kill pile and is going to offer it to the ancestors."
Callie couldn't believe what Kota was saying. He just accepted being an omega. Maybe he is just tired right now. Callie thought. She still couldn't stand Summer becoming the alpha though. From the beginning, she didn't like Summer and now she knew her gut was right.

Eagle looked to the sky and prayed to the ancestors before returning his focus to searching for herbs. If anyone could help, he knew the ancestors would do their best. Eagle also knew that the ancestors always had plan for each dog, however he hoped that their plans for Parker where not over. Parker had suffered the worst out of them all, and yet he refused to be helped until the other’s where taken care of. It was typical for Eagle’s mentor to always be putting others first, but he was scared to be left alone and all the Shaman duties be left to him. He wasn’t ready to let Parker go.

The Shaman Tenderpaw raced back to camp with Shiloh and Baxter, pushing past other dogs as he made his way back to the Shaman's den. Once there Eagle made sure to give Norman the lamb's ear he needed before making sure every one else was alright. Letting out a small sigh Eagle returned his focus to Parker. The Shaman male lied asleep in the den, almost lifeless at first glance. However at second glance Eagle could see a faint rise and fall of Parker's side. "Thank you..." Eagle whispered under his breath, closing his eyes for a brief moment. The ancestors had heard Eagle's plead for help. Eagle let out a confident sigh before getting to work on Parker.

Once finished Eagle lies next to Parker, letting out a relived sigh. Now all he could do was pray and wait. Parker was strong though. Eagle had faith in the ancestors and in Parker. Knowing he should go and check on the new pups, Eagle rose to his paws and padded out of his den and headed to the nursery. Once inside Eagle smiled at the females, happy to see so many beautiful healthy pups. He frowned upon spotting a lifeless body near Shiho, but knew it was always apart of life. The Shaman Tenderpaw said nothing, letting the new Pup-mother to take care of her other pups. He also knew Azora would help Shiho with grieving. For now Eagle knew he would have to pay special attention to Charlie's runt. Other then that all the pups and mothers seemed to fairly health. "If you need anything just let me know." he explained softly before leaving back to his den.

Amber sat in the main cave watching as the pack filtered in and out of caves. She let out an annoyed sigh upon hearing the sound of hearing pups. The brown female growled to herself as she noticed more and more couples. "You got to be kidding me!" she mumbled to herself. Amber padded out of the cave and in to the wide open area. She looked over her shoulder before padding off to go for a walk alone. The pack was growing and so was love. Amber was jealous and wished she herself had some one to love, and have her own pups, it wasn't fair to her.

In the pack thus far there was three confirmed mates. There was Bandit and Azalea, Charlie and Boss, and the newest pair being Kodiak and Brittany. However Amber had a knack for sensing things. She knew Korra was hiding something, possibly a forbidden love with an outsider. Stone and Bailey had grown close, they had a unspoken bond unlike any one else. The Shaman showed no interest in find a mate, nor did his young Tenderpaw Eagle. Thunder and Nina seemed to click well, and yet it was surprising due to both being such excellent hunters. The others where either far to young for her or seemed far to pup-like.

Back at camp most of the younger dogs at gathered outside the entrance to the pack's caves. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, sharing stories from when they where Tenderpaws. A few even though about asking Kodiak to go off and celebrate for a few days by themselves. Inside the pack's only elder, Dusty, sat with Reba. The young pup's eyes sparkled as Dusty told her stories about when he was younger, the silly things he did, and the mischief he managed to find himself in.

Rookie and Poppy walked back to the camp, their fur bristling against each other's, Iris let out a low growl, rolling her eyes, Sparrow sighed patting his mentor's paw with his own, "I know Poppy is one of your closest friends, and your not a big fan of Rookie..' began Sparrow, "Rookie is just charming and speaks over everyone.. It seems we have all forgotten the battle he had with Logan!" she spat, Sparrow sighed, he remembered the stories in the nursery he was told by his mother with his sister and brother, one of them being the battle between Logan and Rookie, "Trust me, I've heard that story.. I still cant look at Rookie without remembering that story.. I'm sure no dog can" he woofed, Iris clawed at the dirt underneath her, Poppy should have seen that, too! Iris sighed, "Bracken did.. he is the proudest of all of us, we all love Logan.. but it seems he wants to be exactly like him" Sparrow barked, Iris shook her head and headed back into the den, Sparrow padded up to his dad greeting him along with his 2 siblings, Lassie and Bracken shoving each other to get there first.
One moon later..
Lassie felt a brush of a tail against her side, she woke up to see Heather standing close to her side, "Hey c'mon, pup! Your all better, we gotta go training if ya wanna keep me as your mentor!" she barked, shoving Lassie up with her back-paw, Lassie raced behind Heather into the forest, Bracken watched his sister head off into the forest, "Hah, and so our long-lasting sibling rivalry will begin!: he chuckled, "Um.. what?" Sparrow asked, turning his head over to his brother, "Um.. nothing.. shoo off now, Iris is angry.." Bracken awkwardly barked to his brother, Sparrow tilted his head, but shrugged it off and padded off to Iris in the nursery with Poppy. "Okay, Poppy.. if you ever are having issues, either call me or Sparrow.. but for our ancestors sake, don't call Rookie just cause you trust him! he doesn't even know what chervil will do!" growled Iris, Poppy let out a "hmph", "You used to be such a great friend, Iris.. what ever happened to you?" Poppy asked, narrowing her eyes, Sparrow gulped, "She just isn't on good terms with Rookie! she doesn't respe-" Sparrow choked out, but was stopped with a shove from Iris, "Sparrow, how about we go on a herb hunting trip to calm me down before I end up breaking all the herbs in rage when I run out of grass to cut with my claws" Iris awkwardly chuckled, Sparrow nodded, "she may be a funny dog.. but she does take Rookie more seriously than her own job sometimes.." Sparrow thought. He noticed Florida and Solo drifting paths with them as they walked out, "Florida must be hurrying with Solo, he's 20 moons old now.. I'm sure in a moon he'll be a Irontooth!" Iris barked to Sparrow, "must be awkward for Solo" mumbled Sparrow

Blue Moon Kennel

Territory

Blue Moon Kennels are situated on a hilled area in the forest. There is thick foliage and plenty of animals such as deer and birds forage on the forest floor. The ground is soft and fertile, and the lower slope of the hill is covered in moss and ferns where it meets a small natural lake.

Several times per year, flowers bloom on the trees overhead, giving the area a whimsical quality.

Reputation

This Kennel is known for being determined and high-strung. They may not always be able to accomplish their goals by brute strength, but their determination will keep them trying until they collapse, giving every ounce of energy to the cause.

They are fiercely loyal and often form close bonds with one another that are even deeper than the bond to their pack, and this can make them seem clique-ish and unwelcoming. Sure enough, they tend to be distrusting of outsiders and make snap judgements, but those who pass that first assessment are usually in the clear.

These canines are used to working hard and going against obstacles - many of them have direct experience with large animals, and this gives them a keen instinct for interactions that could go in either direction.

Dogs

The dogs themselves typically contain some blue in their coloration. Often the eyes, the coat, or even the nose and paw pads may be blue. Their coats are usually heavily patterned, either merle or brindle.

Traits that are rarely seen but considered beautiful are feathering on the ears - legs - tail, tails curled over the back, and blue tongues.

Otherwise their appearance varies considerably- there are smooth furred dogs and those with shaggier coats - although none have long hair - they may have pointed or floppy ears, and their muzzled may be long and pointed or blunt and powerful.
