"Fadewhisker, Fadewhisker! You're here!" Shiverkit glanced at the fish for a moment, and then lifted her head to look at the tom that towered above her tiny form. "Fadewhisker, teach us to hunt! I want to get fish for RiverClan! It's no fun having them brought to us. I want to catch one!" The kit wiggled for a bit, finally falling into a very lopsided crouch (this was RiverClan, after all! They don't go for land prey much anyway), and batted at the warrior's tail. After pawing at it for a moment, she pounced (fairly sloppily, mind you) onto the tom. "See, Fadewhisker? I can do it! I just want you to teach me more." Stepping back and pressing herself against her sister, Shiverkit widened her eyes and added,
"Pleaaaaase?"

lightningtail and clearheart often slept close together, so waking up by her side was fairly common for the riverclan warrior. however when the white molly opened her yellow eyes, she immediately took note of the absence of warmth by her side, feeling a pang of disappointment when she turned her head to see clearheart's nest was empty. 'maybe she and lilacpaw went training earlier then usual today.' lightningtail thought as she got up from her own nest and padded outside of the warriors' den.

"Actually," Lilacpaw looked at Blastclaws. "Maybe one of us could tell Foxstar and one of us could go look for Clearheart? I'm really worried..." Lilacpaw's tail twitched nervously. "Or we could ask someone else to tell him and go look for her ourself?"

Swiftfoot woke up quickly, feeling oddly frightened. He jerked his head around and saw the camp already bustling. He relaxed for a moment before he saw that Clearheart's nest was empty. And Lilacpaw was still in the camp. Surely she wouldn't leave without Lilacpaw, he thought. This wasn't good. Not at all. He jumped out of his nest and padded over to Lilacpaw, where she was standing near Firefeather and Blastclaws.

"Have you seen Clearheart?" he asked, worry showing through in his voice. He glanced around, hoping for a brief moment that she would pop up without prompting. But no such thing happened.

Eventually, a patrol was sent out to look for Cloudheart. When they found her, Grassleap did an examination of the body.
"Although she drowned," The tom mewed, "There was foul play. Someone, or something, attacked her and caused her to fall into the river and drown."
The clan was silent as they watched Grassleap prepare her burial, gathering different flowers and herbs. Silently, a few cats went up and said a few words to her. Most wished her a great life in Starclan, and many, like Lilacpaw, told her how much of an amazing warrior she was.

Then it came to the part most cats were loathing the most. Foxstar stood among the crowd, and called for attention.
"Cats of Riverclan," he mewed, his gaze drifting across all of the cats of his clan. "as Grassleap has told us, this was no mere accident." There were a few murmurs here and there, but everyone quieted down when Foxstar lifted his tail.

"We should figure out who it was. I am certain that whoever killed Cloudheart killed Reedstar."
At the mention of Reedstar, everyone seemed solemn...
Foxstar let the clan have a few heartbeats of silence, before speaking up once more. "Does anyone have any ideas of who the killer could be?"
Instantly, some of the warriors sat up straight and called out their answers.
"I believe it was Blastclaws!" "No, it was Swiftfoot!" "I agree! It was Swiftfoot!"
"I believe it was Foxstar."

Foxstar shook his head, listening to each random answer the cats kept flying towards him. He noticed that most cats in his clan kept silent, and he took that as a sign.
"We don't have enough evidence to pinpoint someone yet.. I believe we eventually can figure it out. But for now, there's no way to know."
With that, he made his way to his den, shouts of annoyance flooding his ears.

No one was exiled Riverclan! Will you be able to catch the killer the next time they kill?

Lilacpaw sat outside the nursery, obviously distraught. "Windsong?" She mewed, sticking her head in the nursery. Windsong was awake, laying peacefully next to the two kits. "Lilacpaw?" she mewed, her blind eyes moving towards the entrance at the sound of the apprentice's voice.
"Would you like to go on a walk?" The apprentice mewed, and the queen nodded with a purr.

The two walked through the forest, Lilacpaw making sure the blind she-cat wouldn't trip over any roots. Clouds covered the sky, making it darker than usual. The two cats had no idea that they were being tailed, but Windsong could feel someone's gaze burning into her back.
"Maybe we should head back to camp. I shouldn't leave the kits alone for too long.." Her mew was tinged with anxiety, and Lilacpaw could sense the Windsong was worried.
"They'll be fine. They have an entire clan to protect them." Windsong still felt worried, but continued to walk.

Eventually they sat in a clearing, which was lit by a gap in the clouds. Lilacpaw purred, looking up at the stars that could be seen through the cloud gap.
"How long until your kits are born?" She looked back over at Windsong, whose ear's were perked. Windsong stayed silent, her breath catching in her throat.
A voice from the brush caught Lilacpaw off guard, and it made Windsong's fur stand up.
"Yes Windsong.. how long until Reedstar's kits are born?" There was a growl to the killer's voice, and they walked out of the shadows. Lilacpaw instinctively went in front of the blind she to protect her, but Windsong pushed past her lightly.
"They will be born in 1 moon, according to Grassleap."
"Then leave. I have not come here for you. Only her." The killer shot a glance in Lilacpaw's direction, and her ears folded back.
"I will not let you hurt her like you hurt Reedstar!" Windsong shouted, her claws unsheathing. She stood her ground, snarling at the killer.
The killer looked towards Lilacpaw, then back towards Windsong. As quick as they could, the killer leaped towards the apprentice, claws outstretched. Windsong slashed out, but missed the killer by a mouse-length. The killer easily pinned the apprentice down, biting down on her throat. She struggled, and Windsong tried once more to attack. But to no avail.
Lilacpaw's body went limp as the killer strengthened their grasp on her throat. They quickly shot back as Windsong slashed at their ears. The killer swept at the she's legs, causing her to fall. Holding her down with their claws to her throat, they let out one last warning.
"Leave and never return, or die here with your unborn kits." The killer's mew sounded strained.
Windsong looked in the direction of Lilacpaw as she heard the apprentice's final breath. Lilacpaw had been like a daughter to her, and she felt numb. There was nothing left for her in Riverclan.

The killer let Windsong up, and led her to the barn.

When the killer made it back to camp, they quietly sat outside of their den. They decide that in one moon from then, they would track Windsong down and kill her, sparing her kits.

When Riverclan finds Lilacpaw's body, and realize that Windsong is gone as well, they figure that she had drown.
