in the days of the five clans, conflict split the lake in half. skyclan and windclan, moorland cats at heart, fought side by side to protect the moor. a battle that nearly eradicated the two unlikely allies, and one that sent them fleeing to find a new territory. together, skyclan and windclan merged into one; swiftclan. however, even with the new name, swiftclan seemed to be tearing itself apart. with increasing tension among original clan members, the two leaders implanted a mating tradition, one that was carried out by the very first leaders. each cat was to be assigned a mate when they were apprenticed. as assigned mates had litters, the clan slowly accepted that windclan and skyclan were no more.

but there are some, whose clan blood could not be dispelled...

the camp entrance
two tall trees entwined together, vines hanging low to cover up the gap in between them, which is also the entrance.

the big oak
the big oak tree set in the center of the camp, the two leaders sit together on the top branch when announcements are being made.

the lake
the lake at the very edge of swiftclan territory, not many go there because of the legends that have been told of it. it is said that cats who ventured to the lake, never came back.

the jagged rocks
three tall rocks in the middle of the moor, usually used for training exercises.

➣ I. the most important tradition of swiftclan is assigned mates. each cat is given an assigned mate when they become an apprentice by both of swiftclan's leaders. the leaders often confide in the kin of the chosen kit, or the medicine cats. customary, the oath must be taken first: do you both promise to loyally serve on another, to forge a bond and to protect one another no matter the cost? each cat must say "i do" before the ceremony begins. the ceremony of boundment is; "i, ____star, leader of Swiftclan bless {name} and {name} with an abundant mating and kit-birth, to be bound together until your time to join the StarClan." both must agree to the union. those who do not agree to the union, will be forbidden to take a mate of their choosing, without explicit permission from both leaders of Swiftclan.

➣ II. swiftclan's warriors are divided into two based on how adapted the warrior is to each rank.

for those with strong, long back legs they are honored with the rank of tree-climber. they are especially skilled in hunting, fighting, and climbing in trees. these cats will gather sap, vines, nuts, and flower or flower buds to trade with others; or to impress their assigned mate.

those with long spines and a lean frame are chosen for the moor-runner rank. these cats are incredibly agile and fast; they can also run underground with complete ease. they will trade underground clay, moss, and fur with others, typically used for repairing dens or making nests softer.

➣ III. there are two leaders, two deputies, two medicine cats, and two medicine cat apprentices. the reason this is, is because when the clans joined together they could not choose who should be in control of Swiftclan.

➣ I. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
➣ II. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
➣ III. Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, ➣ IV. apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
➣ V. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
➣ VI. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
➣ VII. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
➣ VIII. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
➣ IX. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
➣ X. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
➣ XI. A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
➣ XII. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
➣ XI. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
➣ IXX. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
➣ XX. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
➣ XXI. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
➣ XXII. Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.
