there are many different ways to do it, i personally do it in GIMP.

if you'd like to do it in GIMP, i'd suggest following these steps:

1. drag the image of the pet into the main workspace (i strongly suggest going into your chicken smoothie account settings and changing the board style to something like CSGrayscale or CSBusiness because with these board settings, the pet backgrounds in the archive are a light gray/white, and so if you miss a couple pixels while removing the background it's a lot less noticeable).

2. Go to Layer > Transparency > Add Alpha Channel

3. Then go to Tools > Selection Tools > Fuzzy Select

4. Select all the large areas of the background and go to Edit > Clear

5. Once you've cleared most of the large sections, you can delete the pixels remaining using the same method (tedious work but idk a better way lol)

6. When your done, go to File > Export As > Select File Type (By extension) and choose .png

7. Done! Now you can upload it to a website like imgur or tiny pic ^^

this method isn't perfect and chances are there'll still be a handful of pixels left here and there, but this is just how i do it

if you don't use GIMP there's another way to do it but you have to own the pet yourself: add an item to a pet but drag it down as far as possible and to one corner, then drag the image to your desktop and crop out the image and any extra space. it'll already have the transparent background and all you'll have to do is upload it to a website to get the BBcode for it. hopefully that helps somewhat! there are also tutorials for other programs online if you don't have GIMP and don't own the pet :3 sorry this was so long lol
