YOUR QUESTION: alright, so i hope this is the right place to ask this! i need to do a current events paper tonight, which means i need to find some sort of recent news story, write about it in detail, and write about how its effected me and why it's important. I've been looking through all these news articles but none really fit the 'why is it important/how it's effected me' section that much. so i was wondering if you guys had an idea on which news story to write about? i've already done hurricane harvey in the past, so doing hurricane irma might be a bit.. y'know, but i want to see what you guys think. thank you!!

We can't pick something important to you without knowing anything about you, lol. Try looking up local news or pick something you're passionate about and just do a generic search with your topic word. Google has a specific news section that you can use to just look through news articles. ;3

hey i had an exam on interest today!!

formula is: I = (P x R x T) / 100 (over 100)

where p = principal amount invested, r = rate of interest, t = number of years, sooo

1.) I = (500 x 6 x 8) / 100 = $240 earned in interest

2.) I = (1200 x 5 x 9) / 100 = $540 earned in interest

I hope this is right??? idk if this is the formula used in your class but this is what we were taught!

((e: there is another formula you could use: A = P(1 + R x T), which works the same way as the one I used :)))

I'm doing some work on gender bias and I'm talking about reverse alpha bias... but all I can find on that study is what I've already written above (and in that much detail too...)
Alternatively if you know a different reverse Alpha bias study that has quite a lot of information out there, that would be of help too

Are you talking about "Noncognitive Skills and the Gender Disparities in Test Scores and Teacher Assessments: Evidence from Primary School"? Does your school or perhaps local library have a subscription that would allow you to access scientific journals? I found that study on the Journal of Human Resources: http://jhr.uwpress.org/content/48/1/236.short If you can log into that journal/page from your school, you should be able to download the pdf and read the whole study.
Through google scholar or whatever your school's journal search is, you should also be able to find papers that cited Cornell, which will include both researchers who agreed and disagreed with the results, which is also good to look through and helpful in finding potential issues/biases in a study.

If that's the study you're referring to. If it's not - well, whatever you read that cited the study should have provided the name of the study in their bibliography/citations, and we can try to find the study through similar means that way.

Marcos is cutting ribbons for a craft project. Each ribbon needs to be 3/4 yard long. If each piece is always within plus or minus 1/16 yard, how long are the shortest and longest pieces of ribbon?

What I have to do is set up an absolute value equation to be able to solve this problem, but I'm completely lost on how to structure the equation. Anyone have a clue?
