I'm not even sure what the heck I'd name these guys, but they'd probably be an alien like species that are mistaken for "wingless" dragons and often times used for racing.
They are not capable of actually running due to their back legs but they "bound" almost like a deer, their back legs are used almost like springs. Their rears go down a bit also mimicking that of a frog, and they more of leap then run. But they are quite skilled and speedy.

Ranging from 500 to even 1300 pounds, they are large beasts coming in the size of a horse to a small elephant. Any of those that are close to the size of elephants are often used in battle. And are very rare to find.

The front paws have retractable claws, they are flat near the tip and are mainly used for gripping onto the ground or high walls if they are climbing or trying to gain speed. Their back feet, aren't really "paws" they are very rough and large talons make up almost half of their feet. Not leaving room for any padding to be found.

They hold eyes within their mouths, where there is a small pouch within their neck to keep them. (it's almost like a pouch that lizards have in order to carry toxins, or a "dragon" would have to carry the toxins in order to create their flame) As odd as it sounds, they don't really need their eyes. Given if their eyes weren't apart of their souls. (They have "holes" in the side of their necks, and multiple slits on their snouts. Giving them a very advanced sense of smell to make up for not having their eyes most the time)
It is hypothesized that their eyes have to do with their home planet which is unknown to mankind, but often times these beasts can be found with elemental powers.
Most of their eyes showing a small part of where the beast was born, and if born on earth it shows a part of their ancestor's birth place.
If their eyes are to be taken, they have 5 days to get it back or else their body will wither away.

The beasts can also take another one of their kinds's eyes and merge it with their own, often times changing the shape of their pupil. Or the color of their eyes, sometimes there will be multiple iris's and pupils.
These beasts are normally not messed with, and are acknowledged as a threat or a high presence.

When they take out their eyes it is usually to show dominance or show which class they are, they can see out of their eyes for a brief period of time. About 2 minutes before they must hide them again.
