lol, Thowra's herd is, like, half-dead right now. Haha. I gotta get him moving soon.

I am thinking of making a giant old shire gelding that would go around making himself a herd out of young stallions and mares that were kicked out of their herds,but that were not old enough to breed/start their own herd, so that they would have a better chance of surviving the winter... Also for old mares kicked out because they are to old to have foals... Anyone's thoughts on that? I would probably have him die once spring came...

@Scout,
Zeus is creating a similar thing next Spring when he leaves Thowra's herd. He's gonna make himself a little band with pretty much no hierarchy. It's exactly the same, except they're all young horses. Also, no predator in their right mind would attack a group of young mares and stallions because chances are the entire band would just fight it off.

that'll be good for when my mares give birth and then they grow old enough to leave their herds!

Silent Wish wrote:@ Laurara, @ Scarlit,
Next year (in RP), would it be ok if Zeus forms a little band of two to three year olds that just kind of wander around together. There would be no hierarchy or any ranking or anything of the sort. But I thought it might be a good idea because generally the young horses to form a small little band which they stay in until they're ready to go and find/make their own herd
Scarlit wrote:@Silentwish
Yeah sure, I don't see a problem with that. ^^ Bachelor bands are totally normal and fine, but the moment the group finds or steals a mare, whoever has/wins the mare will have to leave the band as that is nature and to help keep things fair.
*cough* It doesn't really make sense to have two of the exact same thing.

Oh yay, now Fable can go reunite with Candy. ^^
@Silentwish @scout
Yes, I can't allow a gelding and colts be in the same herd with mares and fillies simply because it's not entirely realistic for multiple , especially unrelated, intact colts/stallions to peacefully coexist with mares around them. Almost all colts kicked from the herd will have been kicked because they are sexually mature and taking an interest in mares, same goes for fillies. Fillies will only be driven out when they go into heat (unless the filly is not related to the band stallion, then she will stay as he can breed with her).
Multiple bachelor bands are allowed to be formed. It will be good to have multiple for people who have more than one colt / mareless stallion and prefer they aren't / don't want in the same bachelor band such as myself. So if you want Scout the shire will have to only take in colts/stallions or only take in mares.

I would quote/ link people but I am on mobile... But To bird, ya, I thought bringing a gelding in would be interesting xD I Guess to co exist with Silent wish, I would have the gelding take in the lone mares/fillies leaving Zeus to have a band of colts/ lone stallions? But like I said I would most likely kill him off in the spring unless there were some older mares around still
