Eyes that glinted with the colour of honey opened to the dim light of pre-dawn. Aja, being a lioness who barely slept, the female rose, the light birdsong that accompanied the rising song filling her ears. Licking her maw, the female padded out of her den, her paws barely making a sound against the dirt. There were no other huntresses awake - at least, none she wished to interact with - so she decided to take a solo hunt before the rest of the pride awoke. She'd get to fill her belly in private - no one would know she was disobeying the rules if no one saw her disobeying the rules. A smirk crossed her lips as she padded faster, a steady trot-like pace pushing her through the bush. Some bird spotted her as she ducked into thicker grass, calling out with a warning cry to his peers. Didn't matter to this huntress. Lowering her head and her speed, she lay in waiting, eyes flitting from movement to movement without a twitch of another muscle. After a number of moments, her patience was rewarded, and a young egret wandered just too close. Pouncing forward, large paws pinning the bird beneath her, and with that, her breakfast was complete. Finishing off the bird, leaving the remains in the grasses for the scavengers, she sat up, cleaning her maw and paws. No one would ever know.

A large yawn split the maw of the quiet Oshun, a little growl rising up her throat involuntarily as she lowered herself into a rolling stretch. Licking her maw, she stood straight, fawny eyes scanning the camp outside. There was a little hustle and bustle, but her siblings did not seem to be around. Sighing lightly, she padded out into the already warm morning sun, blinking as her eyes adjusted from the dim light of her den. Sitting down outside the den, raising her head with a little smile to the sun, allowing the heat to seep into her pelt. After a number of moments, Osha lowered her head, eyes looking easily around to her fellow pride members. A number were making their first appearance of the morning, padding out of their dens with varying grades of sleepiness, but Osha just sat, watching them, a contented flick of her tail and the rise and fall of her chest the only real sign that she was not a statue.

Golden eyes searching through the underbrush for something of interest, Eshu felt his tail twitch involuntarily, trying to remove some pesky fly that landed on the soft pelt of his tail. His large paws made a faint noise as he moved, not longing to be silent. He wasn't hunting, there was no need to try too hard. Although, he mused, as his stomach rumbled lightly, he probably could. Scoffing silently to himself, he continued on his travels. Hunting was a lioness' game. They could supply him with his meals. That's what they were here for. Smirking to himself, a faint scent crossed his nose, and, before he could put a name to the scent, a snarky voice caught his ears. Pausing in his travels, he looked around only to spot one of the pretty lionesses that filled the pride. Raising himself up, he curled a lip up at her comment, a sarcastic movement, but then his eyes dropped to what she carried. Her speech had been muffled by a recent kill, and his rumbling stomach reminded him of the need to eat. Turning to face the female, he smirked. "Well, it's quite difficult to get a good sleep when some people are up at the crack of dawn poking around the camp." Pausing he chuckled. "Fine catch there." He stated, raising an eyebrow and gesturing with his head to the dik dik that hung from her jowls. If he played his cards - and her - right, that kill might be his breakfast.

🌳juu jumped slightly with fright as a lion pounced on his back. turning around, he came to notice it was xena. with a slight chuckle he turned around and brushed his nose against her muzzle, his mouth slightly open. he flicked his tail once again before nuzzling his mate. he gazed out on his pride. most had seemed ro have woken up, but he wasn't to fussed. it wasn't exactly like he was an early bird this morning. he let out one last yawn and just observed everyone for a while.

🐚she knew the lion's game, with his instant change at attitude at the look of the kill, it was obvious he was playing nice. although, still sleepy from the morning, she couldn't be bothered dragging this carcass the way back to camp, regardless of how light it may be. "oh alright you can have some dik dik then." she said, a tint of playfullness in her tone. "but under one condition, the whole carcass isn't just for you." she said, feeling decently hungry herself. she placed the dik dik on the ground, and began eating away at the carcass, crushing it's small and lithe bones. she at the back of the dik dik, leaving the stomach area for the male. the dead animals eye's almost stared almost directly at her, it's odd shape of pupils becoming quite disturbing. she tried to ignore it for the time being.

☄️kijivu awoke late, used to having his patrols later in the day it seemed appropriate to wake up a bit later than most. he streched out, yawning and shaking out his little ruff of a mane. he began to pant, noticing the warmth that had come with the warning. he lay his head back down, his eyebrow tufts moving up and down as he looked around him. but of course, a beetle decided to play a little song right next to his ears. he jumped a little, the immense sound coming from such a small creature alarmed him. he growled softly, but nothing seemed to scare this little beetle. he lifted the corner of his lip, annoyed and stood up. he looked around, wondering if any of his fellow subordinates had awoken aswell.

" good morning my king. " she yipped, playfully pawing the male's face as she slowly slid off the back of him. she gave a slight giggle before pawing at his face again. " sleep well? " she asked, shifting herself onto her back so her stomach was up, she saw juu's chin and nipped at it slightly.

dahnu lifted his head up, spotting a lioness that was doing a very cheeky thing. he gave a quick grunt before lifting himself up again and dragging his paws along, closer to the female. " you know that is disobeying the rules. " he said quietly, standing behind her and sitting down, beginning to lick his paws. then he looked up at huntress and smirked, " oh, young lions always getting into trouble. shame. " he chuckled evilly and got up from a sit then pounced on a nearby rock and sat there, licking his paws once again.

koda let out a sigh as she woke herself up. she heaved herself up on all of her paws and did a big stretch. the lioness let out a loud yawn and then set her gaze on the area of the pride's territory. there was nothing to, all boring stuff. if only something interesting happened whenever koda woke up, it wouldn't be so boring most of the time. the huntress huffed and walked around the area. she then spotted a big rock, a smile appeared on her maw as she jogged up to it and jumped on it. she pretended she was a royal lioness and looked down at the ground, imagining they were peasant lionesses. she gave a slight giggle and then got off the rock, her crisis ending after a while.

Cleaning the last of the evidence from her face, Aja licked her lips obviously, spotting a male approaching. The faintest scent of smoke crossed her dampened nose, alerting her to the fact that this was the male named Dahnu. Watching him coolly, barely blinking as he sat down behind her, she stood, rolling her eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about." She stated coolly, shooting her words over her shoulder. She was in no mood for some fool male thinking he was above her chastising her for filling her belly. "We're the same age, genius." she spat as she began to move away, swatting at the male's nose with her tail as she did so.

Eyes glinting as the female offered him some of her kill, Eshu chuckled at her words, lowering his head in a nod of thanks to the huntress. Honestly, he thought she would be more stubborn with her kill, more possessive of it. But she lowered her own head to eat alongside him - obviously he wasn't the only one feeling hunger this morning. Lowering his shoulders to eat his part, whiskers at the top of the male's head alerting him to how close he actually was to the lioness. Eating quickly, he soon rose his head, licking the remains from his maw. "Thank you, Mwanga." He said softly, dipping his head in thanks. He noticed her discomfort, casting a sideways glance to the creature's eye, which was staring blankly ahead. He merely blinked, looking back to the lioness. Beginning to clean his muzzle with his paw, he decided to speak with the lioness. Perhaps if he showed her some interest outside of food, he might gain a useful ally. "Was it a tough kill?" He inquired, glancing down to the remains of what once was a little creature.

🌳juu nuzzled xena once more as she rolled off his back. "i slept just swell." he said with a purr, laying his head against her. he looked up at her "how about you, m'lady?" he said gently, hoping she too had a good sleep. he continued to purr, enjoying the warmth as the sun had finally awoke from it's slumber behind the clouds once again. he looked up the sky, seeing a wave of creamy, fluffy clouds settle in the sky. the sun would occasionally go behind them, cooling down the area and then soon come back out of it's hiding to warm them all up again. it was an interesting thing to watch happen, and juu often wondered how such a thin cloud could block so much heat.

🐚thankfully, eshu had brought up a conversation. for some reason that little beady eye was just creeping her out so much today, normally it wouldn't. "nah, little thing seemed to be pretty weak already" she said, raising her head as she had finished her fill. he licked her maw, the faint stains of red blood coming off her muzzle with each lick. she looked out amongst her, above the tall grass. she flicked her ears, small grass bugs and flies landing on her face as she had just eaten a kill. she looked down to see some flies swarming around the carcass as well, you may aswell call it the early fly not the early bird anymore, flies were always so quick to everything.

Antonio stirred in his wake, almost being blinded by the sun. He felt extremely dazed, as if his head were filled with bushels of cotton. He took in a couple of deep, refreshing breaths, letting his lungs expand and then contract once more. It was a pleasant morning it seemed. He glanced around, looking at the other lions in his pride. He felt safe here, like nothing could hurt him. He was proud of his pride and how powerful they were as a group. He couldn't think of a better way to live, even as a subordinate male. He didn't care. He stood up, shaking his whole body to fling off any dirt and dust that had accumulated over night. Going into a stretch, arching his back and letting out a tremendous yawn, he glanced around, searching for something to do to help out his pride.
