Losing Silverflower was a lot. Losing Otterkit was.. Too much. The young she-cat could barely lift her head to speak, but managed it, and turned toward Foxfall. Voice hoarse, she mewed, voice hardly a whisper, "I don't know. I don't know, Foxfall." Grief had taken over the pale warrior, she knew she wouldn't be able to hold herself together much longer. Sadness filling her, Shiverthorn's head sagged, and she slowly made her way back to the den.

She felt like she couldn't breathe hearing the kit was dead. "Breezefire..." She croaked," who could do such a thing?" It pained her that a kit was killed. Who would be next? Breezefire? Herself? What did the killer want? Where was Star Clan to stop this? She wanted to accuse Spiderpaw but he had been too close to the kit for her to believe he did this. But she couldn't believe anyone could kill a sweet loving queen or her kit

Breezefire felt like her heart had been broken. Why would anyone kill a kit? Breezefire just didn't understand. "I...I don't know.." she said. Her temper raised a little bit, and she wanted to scream at starclan and ask them why were cats from the same clan killing each other off.

The Clan was up in arms (so to speak). A queen
and now a kit had been killed by the murderer. There was a
lot less of a variety - six cats immediately started spitting
Spiderpaw's name out, to the horror of the apprentice.
He shrunk back, still haunted by seeing Otterkit's ghost
earlier that day. However, Rainstar called a silence in the
Clan, and ordered every cat who thought it was Spiderpaw
to one side, and every cat else to the other.
Much to the intense relief of Breezefire and Spiderpaw,
the young apprentice had a majority for staying, and
the Clan broke up that night to mixed feelings.

The night air was cool against Rabbittail's fur. It was quiet.
In the nights since Otterkit's death, the whole Clan had been
on edge. However, it seemed that the killer, or killers (as
she was soon to find out) had stopped. A moral compass
perhaps? She would not know.

Oh well. Rabbittail let the wind rustle her fur softly,
bringing back fond memories of being in the nursery with
her mother. The killer had gone. The Clan was at peace.
The deputy was only awake to do the night shift and let her
clanmates sleep.
'R-rabbittail?' A voice cut through the stillness. The deputy
turned her curious eyes upon the newcomer. 'Hm? Ah, hello.
How are you getting along?'
With a quiet breath, they responded. 'It's going fine. I'm-'
They cut themselves off, as the killer stalked towards
them. 'Here you are. I was wondering where you got to.'

'Sorry. I just wanted to take a walk.' They apologized, glancing
furtively at Rabbittail, who was still watching them with
bright eyes.

There was silence for a bit. Then, the new cat stretched their
claws out of their front paws. 'I was jealous of you, Rabbittail.'
They commented. 'You... Well. I was.'
Rabbittail blinked once. 'What? Why?'
The killer shook their head and began walking away, flicking their
tail to call their companion over. They got to their paws and the
two left the scene.
Rabbittail fell into a content silence again, although still
mulled over what the killer had meant.

Claws stabbed into her neck and she screeched, a barrage
of attacks on her, her back and her neck. Stumbling away,
blinded by the pain, she called out for help. But as the sun
rose over the camp and Rabbittail's body was left, it was
obvious that it was too late.
Your faithful deputy has been murdered. But by who? Good
luck RiverClan.
Yewbriar is appointed deputy and Firefeather is assigned to
train Marigoldpaw after Rabbittail's death is discovered.
