Pack of Olympic Forest
Number of Dogs: 16 adults, 3 pups; 9 female, 10 male

Freya curled around Odin and Lassie protectively. Her babies had colds, and she wanted to help them heal quicker. In her den also lay Jaxxie and Mousie. Rowdy had gone hunting for herbs and had relegated his assistant to comforting the new Tenderpaw.

Blue sized up Oliver, slightly unimpressed. "You sure you can earn your stay?" He asked. Normally, he more genial, but the fact that his new mentee was ill had soured him.

Oliver was nonplussed. "Take me out and you'll see," he growled. Blue decided to comply

Raleigh stood atop her log, a mass of terriers below her. "I'm pairing you off to hunt," she announced. "Jack and Pebble. Rocky and Bramble. Tank and Badger. Montana and Briar. Go!" She ordered.

The Northern Stars consume 2 rabbits and a mouse. (5 servings).

Korra waited patiently for Florida to show up, casually cloud watching during her wait. A small breeze blew by caring the oh so familiar scent of Florida. Korra jumped to her paws, her tail swishing from side to side once she spotted Florida. "I hope you where able to sneak out alright." she barked. He was still a mystery to her, however the young dog found the male to be very interesting and handsome.

Kodiak pads pack to camp, a mouse dangling from his jaws. Making his way pack the alpha joins up with the hunting patrol who seem to be heading back as well. Their catch was small however the pack was surviving. Kodiak silently thanked the ancestors for looking out for them so far. Upon their arrival back Kodiak and the rest of the group noticed two new dogs inside the caves. One was a dark colored young female while the other one seemed to be a very old dusty colored male.

The alpha welcomes the pair, happy to receive new pack members. Knowing it was dangerous for older dogs and tenderpaws, the alpha waited for everyone to return back to camp before having Parker and Eagle check everyone's health. Winter was dangerous and often brought sickness, Kodiak was careful to make sure his pack remained as healthy as they could.

Many dogs huddled in the large main cave, listening to stories others told. While most of the tenderpaws stuck close to one another, Red was right next to Charlie. He was almost always by the beta's side. Boss watched the pair from a far, still wary of Charlie. The large gray male was strong and never let anything shake his confidence, however with the beta she made him nervous.

Upon finishing checking on the pack members both the shaman and his tenderpaw head to the nursery. They both knew Azora was due at any time now and they wanted to be there in case anything went wrong. While the pack continued to gossip Azora went in to labor, Parker and Eagle adding her when needed.

As the light from the sun began to fade, the pack began to break up in to smaller groups and head off to their caves for the night. Kodiak was one of the last to retire for the night. The alpha had a dreamelss night for once, being able to get some much needed rest.

The next morning came, bringing the sounds and song of birds. Yawning, Kodiak rose to his paws and stretched before heading out of his cave. He let out howl, calling forth his pack so he could send out so much needed patrols. Knowing the danger of tenderpaws being out in the cold Kodiak ordered all training sessions to be held in the main cave that day. Next patrols where formed and sent out.

Rerria leapt up onto the Post, which is the name they gave to the large tree in the center of camp, and addressed the clan. Every member was out, lined up in three small rows. "Ok everyone. Now that everyone's here, I'll begin. Just a few notices I thought you should all be aware of. First off, we have a new tenderpaw, Jorge." she nodded in acknowledgment towards the young dog, who towered over many of the dogs around him, "Since he is larger than most if you, Sesa will be his mentor. Moving on, we need to hunt more. The prey piles low so I want everyone hunting today, ok? I'm going to request another irontooth to make sure we have enough prepared to mentor Juniper's pups."

Essex let out an annoyed growl, swiping the dirty moss out of his den. Trenton jumped out of the way to avoid the flying moss, an aggravated look on his face. "Essex, what's wrong with you lately?" The alpha snapped at the shaman. Essex glared at the Borzoi over his shoulder, his tail lashing angrily.

"I have too much to do, everybody needs something and expects me to be able to do it all right when they ask for it. I'm the only Shaman here, I can't be in multiple places at once!" The golden retriever and rottweiler mix snapped. Trenton sighed, his lips pressing into a thin line.

"I'll talk to you about this later, Essex. I have something I need to go do." Trenton turned his back on his stubborn shaman and crossed the clearing to join the departing border patrol.

Koda was accepted into the pack, as he vowed to hunt only for this Kennel. Trevor decided to test his words and send him off with Diego and Tugger. Trevor wanted Anne to hunt alone with Kylie, so she had a higher chance of learning something. Trevor was wary, he did not want any pack members getting coughs. So he told everyone to walk next to each other to decrease their chances of getting a cough. He told Sandra and Kai mainly to stick together as well. "Will you be alright in the cold Trevor?" Diego asked. "I will be fine, hopefully, I will come back with a new irontooth to introduce to you all. Best of luck everyone." Trevor dismissed. The dogs dispersed and went on their way, Kylie practically walking on Anne. "Get off!" she said, giggling.

"I think I got out without followers.. I'm lucky that Rookie didn't spot me in fact" he barked, he felt comfortable with this female, not nervous around her like with Iris, or the strange feeling of Rookie staring at him when he talked with Poppy. "So how is your kennel so far? If they need anything I can ask my kennel to bring it to them at the border" he grinned.
"Thanks for helping with the hunting!" Logan barked as he picked up a finch, "Don't go thanking her now, Logan" Jet began, standing in the way of Logan's and the newcomer "We barely have enough food to feed the kennel, we can just let this new-comer come wandering in" Jet protested, his class sinking into the light snow underneath him, "Jet, it isn't often a dog who's doesn't trust us will come and help.. we must accept them in the kennel as a thank-you, it's part of our code" Logan growled, "Though I appreciate you trying to help the kennel" he nodded, the newcomer picked up their finch "I'm Heather by the way, nice to meet ya two.. now take me over to your leader please and thanks" they barked, Jet and Logan shared a surprised glance before nodding, heading back to camp. They brought Heather up to Belle, who had kept a close look on her pups, "Hello there, name's Heather.. I helped Jet and Logan with hunting, so am I in this pack or not, I don't like talking so can we make this conversation fast please?" Heather spat, Logan and Belle chuckled a bit, "I'd hate to annoy you with a long conversation.. so a simple yes would be fine, correct?" Belle grinned, "Thanks pretty-face" Heather chuckled in a teasing tone before padding off.
One moon later..
Iris had convinced Heather to let her check her for anything bad such as sickness, or wounds since she was a recently added dog, and it wouldn't be surprising if a tough dog like her was in need of a Shaman, "I keep tellin' ya, I'm fine Iris!" Heather growled, baring her teeth "Hah.. I know you wouldn't fight me" Iris chuckled as she continued the check for wounds, "you assume I wouldn't fight you just cause of your rank.." mumbled Heather, Belle was displeased with Heather's bullying to any dog who tried talking to her, but she could only let the dog get used to the others, the main dog Heather had beef with was Jet, always shoving him around and giving him a hard time just cause he didn't want her in the kennel, "I must go to with Star Lake, Poppy is watching the pups.. but please keep an eye on Heather" Belle whispered, Logan nodded and Belle headed off. After arriving to Star Lake she knelt down, lapping up the water, "Dear Ancestors.. I ask for your approval to make my 3 pups Tenderpaws.. I wish for Lassie and Bracken to be Irontooth Tenderpaws, and Sparrow to be a Shaman Tenderpaw.. if you agree please tell me who should mentor Lassie and Bracken" Belle woofed, she fell asleep, in her dream appeared Jade, and by her side was a much larger dog she had never seen before, but the brightest of all the stars twinkled in his eyes, "Hi mama!" Jade barked, but the bigger dog quickly shushed Jade, "About your pups, Belle" they woofed

the redwood stags kennel are generally quite reserved, and get their name from the foliage they hide amongst. they frequently go out on pratols for herbs, food or new pack members but are rarely seen by other packs and often don't make allies, or enemies especially. they are quite shy and like to avoid conflict. they are still very social bunch among their own clan. they share a very close bond with their clan and can be a bit wary of outsiders. they are rarely seen or heard and mainly come out during darker or quieter times of the day.

they reside in a beauty of a forest, with long tall trees, providing them with plenty of shelter by space to move around. a large fire came through the area once, caused by some unwanted and illegal vistors to the site, creating a large area that is clear of trees. the kennel regularly manage it to keep it this way as it has come in very handy. human very rarely ever visit the area, and their main threat is other predators. they get most of their water from the morning dew or rain that settles on the leaves around them. but if they travel far enough, they will find their way around to small streams. it has quite a rocky terrain and is followed by moutains out the west parts of the land, the pack will frequently visit the mountains to gain nutritious minerals.

most of the dogs in the pack are european breeds, due to the pack's personal preferance over the time and genetic inheritance. dog coat lengths will vary, but long haired dogs are very rarely seen, most are short pelted. most dogs take on the appearance of medium to large sized breeds and appearances of dogs such as the weirmaner or viszla with long legs and a lean build, with the generic face, but there are many different appearances aswell. the most common color are reddish pelts and pale greys. most dogs are a solid color. dogs that are very small are almost never occur within the kennel, due to their build not being very well adapted to the enviroment. but medium sized dogs do occur

the most common breeds are: viszlas, weirmaners, rhodesian ridgebacks, german short haired pointers, great danes and doberman pinschers.

the kennel doesn't participate in many traditions, they mainly have some for higher ranks and deceased rituals.
in order for a dog to be made an irontooth, they must hunt all by themselves, alone all day to feed the pack following day. they will fast and not eat any of the prey they returned until all has been gone. the following morning, they will be washed by a mix of creek water and flower pollen for a symbol of purity. when a dog passes away, a shaman will break the antler of a young stag, which have been stored from previous stag kills. if none are available, they will use the tooth of a hare or rabbit instead. it is buried alongside the deceased and often contains carvings and bite marks made by the alpha and shaman and sometimes a close kin or mate. if a dog has committed a very bad crime, they will be told to gnaw down a small sapling with their teeth, however this is rare, and most end up banished from the clan if the crime is very bad.

Rocky smiled as he led the new dog into camp. He did not care that the dog was an older dog, he was still quiet strong and vital for his age. He would be a great dog to leave in charge of guarding camp while all the rest were away. After introductions and showing the new dog where to sleep, Rocky himself went to bed.

~THE NEXT DAY~

Rocky awoke to a loud noise inside of his den, he was not sure what it was until he sneezed. He realized that he had sneezed himself awake. That was never a good sign. He heaved a heavy sigh, but that gave him a great idea.

"All dogs, to me!" Rocky bellowed as he took his place in front of his kennel, "Today things are going to go a little differently. Baldr, you will take Eir, Bil, and Dante with you on a boarder patrol, Eir and Dante have not seen the territory yet, so you will need to show them. I will stay here in camp and watch the pups. Iggy, you need to go out and find herbs, like always. The rest of you need to go out and hunt."

With that final statement, the kennel dispersed.
