So I finished another sig (that's not food-related for once). It kind of bothers me to see one side crowded and the rest full of blank spaces, but I'm not sure what to fill them in with.
I'm welcome to any critiques.

@FreshCookies, it looks great for a beginner signature. you're experimenting which will help you find your style in the end. my complaint is that the three descending bars you have to the left of your signature doesn't fit very well - meaning the symmetry and everything. like you already stated, it's a bit distracting because on the very right of your signature you just have one plain brown bar. it might just be only my screen considering im on a mac, but the - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -✖ lines don't really match up either - again, symmetry. the ✖- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - on the left is up higher than the one on the right, and also a bit shorter now that i notice it more clearly. you have a lot of - - - - lines in general, actually, and overusing a lot of one thing can make it seem messy/cluttered. the middle part of your signature is very spacious, but you already pointed that out. maybe put the bio between the text 'to' and 'purr' and extend it a little bit to fit the whole column length. for the left side of your signature, get rid of the two red and darker brown bars, keeping the tallest and lightest bar. although this might look weird and out of place, perhaps replace those with more paw prints going vertical instead of horizontal. i know, i know, it'll look unusual but it's a starting point.
@.Cherry Blossoms. a few things i had problems with, were, first of all, the color scheme. the theme of the gifs were sort of dark, b/w, and just sinister. that's what i felt from them. but then you have pink colored text and flowers as the scheme and it's kind of a bit unbalanced, if you get what i mean. also the font for the actual text itself could maybe be replaced with... uhm one of the libre families on 1001fonts. they're sharper and more compact which helps in signatures like that one. another thing i notice is that you use a lot of column bars to divide things. that's a great, neat start for beginners, but maybe you can move on to moderate levels of coding. like i always say, experiment. try out new stuff. literally everything and see how you like it. the different bars you used, going from ══ to ▬▬▬ as well as rounded borders such as ╭ ╮ were kind of confusing and bothered me a bit. stick to at least one consistent item and only sprinkle in a few different borders. you also use the same flower dingbat twice, the only thing in difference being size. like i repeated myself numerous times, experiment. go onto a bunch of your favorite font websites, go into the dingbat section, and scroll through all of them. i personally make a list and description of all of the fonts and dingbats i frequent/think would be useful for other themes.
-- i honestly don't know if this is acceptable or not to post my rants onto here, but i'll say them anyway. if you guys aren't comfortable with me voicing out my thoughts, i can edit it out. so, i don't know whether or not you guys have the same problem but i have this pet peeve whenever i make signatures for customers. they tend to go out to the "rate your signature" thread or "signature respect" forum with my signature on display and ask for others to rate them. to me, that's a bit rude even though i know that they don't mean any harm. but something really snapped in me when i found out that just because one person rated the signature i made for them lower than the perfect rating, which was 10, and offered a bit of constructive criticism, they took that to heart so much where they pm'ed me again asking for a whole new layout saying that i "half-assed the job". i'm sorry, it just made me really mad and i think you guys will understand.

@leda.
Thanks for the detailed critique. When I find some time, I'll follow your suggestions and change up my sig. (And it's not just your monitor; the - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -✖ line is lower than the other. I couldn't quite match it up well enough, so I decided to leave it as that. I probably should not repeat that; it's probably going to annoy some people.)
Ah, I'm sorry to hear about that. Calling a sig "half-assed" because of a less-than-perfect ranking or a few criticisms is too much.

hey guys!
im not new to making sigs but this is my first time making such a tiny sig.
im not sure how to go about it because there's not much space & im used to making sigs that are much more image-intensive.
does anyone have any advice for me?
im having trouble finding graphics or things that fit
any advice would be much appreciated!

@freshcookies; I really like it! The only thing that bothers me is the blank area between "to" and "purr", which I'd suggest filling in to help bring the signature together. Other than that I really love the colour scheme, the cat silhouettes and the complex layout. Well done! :)
@cherryblossoms; I'm loving the pink and black colour scheme, especially when combined with the darkened greyscale gifs and the variety of text boxes and dividers. Once again, the blank space around "point of" (I love the idea of making it vertical!) kind of throws me off, but that's probably just me lol.
@equinox; I really like it, especially with the little characters and line work - the only issue for me is that neither of the images are showing up. Not sure if that's just me though! Looks great! :)
Can I get some comments on my new signature? It's my first time doing something so intensive, so any words of advise are appreciated! :)

Do you have a signature shop?:
no, don't think I'm that good yet but maybe in the future?
What's your favourite and least favourite part about coding:
hmm, well, picking out the right images is not always fun, but I do enjoy the whole coding process a lot. c:
When did you begin making signatures?:
well, I started trying more elaborate coding very recently to be honest, and my current sig my first huge coding project. I'd love to hear any opinions on it. obviously I did add things into my signature before starting to code like this, but it was never anything major. like a cs pet, or something.
Tell us a bit about yourself?:
well, I'm an introverted homeschooled teen who's a proud christian, avid animal lover, huge fan of star wars, and a roleplayer of animals only, here on chickensmoothie. I love this site, been a member for over a year now.
Irisid, I'd like to sign up!
(side note: I would love any feedback on my sig, I know it's giant, but I'm pretty proud of it considering it's my first. And @aiden I just had to say I love your signature, theme and all! I absolutely adore the Star Wars Rebels show, actually been planning to make a sig based on it sometime soon. Your coding is wonderful, by the way.)

@leda.
It isn't so much a pet peeve, but whenever a client goes off to one of those threads it gives me anxiety. Like I too understand that somebody would want another opinion on the "quality" of the signature, but if anything it's the scores/ratings without any sort of feedback that really sort of get to me because when I get a low score I at least want to know what I can do to improve on coding for a future client or something. So yes low scores on those threads, and literally anything else in life sucks, but if you hang around there long enough and use the same signature the rating you can get can change from person to person. Claiming that the signature was half-assed though is super uncalled for.
And don't take this the wrong way, I've seen you're coding and it's wonderful, but if somebody has a problem with it then maybe they should try making their signature because I know for a fact that when you're starting out it definitely isn't easy and it takes time to get really good with it.
@.aiden
You have a really amazing signature. Getting columns like that to work out have always been an issue for me and the fact that you managed to make it work while making everything seem even is really impressive. In addition to that thw way you split that gif in the bottom left corner is probably my favorite thing about your entire signature. Just the fact that you managed to make it work while also probably taking out unnecessary space from it is just... I dunno I have no words to really describe it.
@Vibrancy
Welcome to the club. It's always nice to see new faces (accounts?) here, and hopefully we get to see some more coding from you in the future as this first major project you worked on is really nice. Although I do have some feedback to give on it.
This might just be a matter of personal preference with quotes, but the way your formatted this was a little strange. I usually read quotes in a certain "column" format. So anything part of the quote that would be in the left column I read from top down and it continues from there. For your quote, which I'm guessing is, "See the line where the sky meets the sea?" I had originally read it as "See the line meets where the sky the sea?" Right off the bat I knew that it couldn't be right so I had to slowly piece things together. Like I said though this is sort of a matter of personal preference and if anything I'm sure that somebody other than me was probably able to read through that easily because they normally don't just rush into things like I do when I sort of "look over" things.
Another thing which could also just be me is the fact that the entire signature in itself doesn't exactly fit on screen. It could just be my browser or something, but I also think that it could be a few other reasons if the same thing is happening for you. The line that's supposed to go underneath your bio could be a tad bit too big, there could be a slight issue with the formatting (which I've had problems with and finding the right place to put in that block of text is always just such a frustrating fun adventure to figure out), or it could just be whatever was supposed to be underneath the line that's messing things up. It's usually a matter of trial and error in figuring out what happened just be sure to have your original code saved somewhere that way if something gets messed up even more you can just start over from the beginning.
I apologize if any of the things I had said came off as rude as that wasn't my original intention and for possibly rambling.
-----
I have a question for some of you? What do you do when you have some serious coding block, but you have to code something for others? I would love to hear some tips or advice since this has been happening to me lately and I hate having to make people wait so long for coding from like 2 weeks ago because I just can't seem to come up with a layout or something...

What's your favourite and least favourite part about coding:
i love that moment when you're working on a sig and you have no idea what you wanna do and all of a sudden it hits you - and you have something to work towards and a picture in your mind.
picking fonts. it's literally the worst thing for me. like i love fonts, but it's so frustrating.
When did you begin making signatures?:
just a couple months ago, actually. i had ordered a signature from someone and they disappeared for like three months, and that happened twice; so i got frustrated and just read all of digitally distinct. my first sig sucked, but i was like so proud of it.
Tell us a bit about yourself?:
i'm just a queer teen from the west coast in the us. i'm a huge nerd and have recently become obsessed with fall out boy.
i actually probably won't be around much cuz i'm kinda on hiatus right now. i don't have my own computer and the one i've been borrowing from the library keeps getting checked out before i can get it so ;-;
but yeah. um. i'd critique some sigs but almost all of them look wonky on my screen cuz ya know #mobile. sorry about that.
Irisid, I'd like to sign up!

@.aidenThanks to my browser/computer/a mix between the two(?),
the layout's a bit weird... However, based off of what I do see (and what I figure is supposed to look like), it looks really good!
@Vibrancy, @none of this exists.Welcome!
-------
I started off with moving the sig box in the center to be between the "to" and "purr", but it looked a bit weird.. Oh well.
I've been playing around with images (making backgrounds transparent, adding background columns, and all that jazz; bless these tutorials), and wow am I rough.
Edit: I think I'm done...? I don't know if I should add more to what I currently have for my sig.
