For Guitar: you don't have to draw her head detached if you are uncomfortable with that. however if you are comfortable with that I would prefer her drawn the way seen on her ref. Also please know how to draw a goat.
For Milo: DO NOT DRAW HIM AS A REGULAR DOG! He is a hybrid of a weasel and a dog he has traits of both. He is short with stubby legs, about the same length as a dachshund. He has sharp weasel like teeth (use ferret teeth as a reference)
