"Did you hear?" Chelsea asked Aspen as soon as she entered the nursery. Aspen looked at her big sister, waiting for her to go on. "Milan and Dayton became mates this morning." She smiled, flicking her tail before drawing her tongue over Sicily and Adelaide's heads. The two she-pups had a cold so Chelsea decided to stay inside the nursery with them that day instead of going outside to watch the rest of her litter play. She knew that York would watch over them.

"Really?" Aspen smiled, her tail wagging happily. Now she knew that Diego had no chance with Milan. She knew that Milan liked Dayton but she still had had her doubts if they would actually end up being mates.

"Yes, really." Chelsea replied, looking up from grooming her daughters. "Now, don't go trying to be mates with Diego already. You know Trenton said that nobody can have their first litter until they are at least twenty-two." She said pointedly. Aspen sighed, rolling her eyes. Trenton had set that rule shortly after he started the kennel, saying that the younger a she-dog was when she had her litter, the more in danger she was of passing away during delivery. The same went for old she-dogs. Trenton didn't set an age of when she-dogs had to stop having pups though.

"I don't even want pups yet." Aspen replied, turning her back on her sister. "I'm supposed to be heading out on a hunting patrol, I'll talk to you later." She called before ducking out of the nursery.

"Tugger?" Trevor bumped into his potential lost sibling, dumbfounded the brute said, "Yes... how do you know? Are... you? Trevor?!??!" Trevor sighed in relief and bounded up and tussled with him, both of them laughing. "How are you still alive? Where have you been? Did you see anybody else escape?" Tugger chuckled, "Ive managed. The snow's not too cold for me... but I, uh, wanted to ask you... do you have a kennel? I'd love to join you nonetheless." Of course Trevor couldn't resist. "Yes! I am the Alpha, and my kennel is called Where the Red Fern Grows." Trevor and Tugger trotted back to camp, laughing at the good memories they had. Trevor wanted to spent a lot more time with his brother, so he decided to go hunting later and keep a lookout for dogs who still need shelter. First, Trevor had something he wanted to do.

Holly looked down at her little ones, sad that no-one could really share her joy. She wished that Trevor was the father of her pups. She fantasized about Trevor when Trevor's head was suddenly right in front of her. "Trevor!! Don't do that!" Trevor chuckled nervously, "Sorry, I just really wanted to tell you, I... I'd like you to become my Beta." Holly was shocked, "Yes! Of course!" Trevor smiled, warmth coming to his cheeks. "Thank you! I mean, um, Thats wonderful news. You will become Beta as soon as you... um, as soon as your little ones grow older."

"Names?" Bullet questioned, glancing back and narrowing his eyes at the two new dogs trailing behind him. The dogs his ancestors sent him. "Falcon. My pesky little brother there is named Minnow, which I have no idea who decided to name him that. It's a pretty pathetic name if I do say so myself." The older one replied, the pup frowning at him. "He's 6 months old. He looks like a pup though since he's the runt. But I mean, he basically acts like a pup." Falcon explained. Bullet nodded and he entered the camp entrance. Nothing out of the ordinary, which is good. Ricochet was the first to greet him, and narrowed his eyes at the two new dogs. "Ancestors sent me these two." Bullet said, turning to the two dogs, then turning back to Ricochet. "Ricochet, could you mentor this Tenderpaw?" Bullet asked. "Wait, he's a Tenderpaw? He looks pretty small to be one." Ricochet asked, titling his head at the small rottweiler. Bullet nodded in reply. "Alright. Fine. C'mon dude. We're gonna go to training straight away." Ricochet beckoned with his paw. The two went off into the forest somewhere. "Okay, Falcon. We're going on a border patrol after I check on the camp. All right?" He asked. Falcon politely nodded. "Good, good. We'll see how good you are of an Ironteeth."

Gabriel and Michelle were sitting near each other like they usually did. You could tell they built a strong bond already, and Gabriel treated Michelle like her own pup. That was until their Alpha came, and asked where Amour went. "Amour went to find more herbs." Gabriel replied calmly, as Michelle titled her head and looked up at Bullet. "In winter? Seriously? What kind of dog thinks he can find herbs in winter? Which reminds me - could you get Boom and go out on a hunting patrol? We need as much prey as we can for winter." Bullet asked. Gabriel nodded, then went off to find Boom, with Michelle closely trailing behind.

"Shut it you girls! I'm trying to listen."
"Uh, Cason, if you address your sisters like that again you won't hear any more of my stories."
"Sorry, Harrin."
The briard smiled fondly down at the three puppies lined up in front of him. Telling stories to them was possibly the best thing about being sent to the Ruby Brigade. All though he knew that before he'd know it, they'd all be grown up and patrolling rather than listening to him, he didn't mind. There'd be more pups to talk to, and these ones would bring him food. That too he loved about being here. The pups gazed up at him, eyes full of excitement and wonder and tails madly awag. Suddenly, Harrin crouched down. "I snuck up on the wolf like this," slowly, he crept forwards, "And all of a sudden... I leapt!" He slammed him paws down right in front of the pups, making them all jump. Maena squealed, and Eraelis nudged her and snorted with laughter. Cason just gasped, then chuckled to himself as he patted Maena's back with his tail in support.
"The wolf was taken by surprise, and it couldn't shake me off. I bit down hard wherever I could, until the beast fell dead."

The Misfit Growlers

Logan and Iris returned, followed by them was Rookie, and Sophie quietly walking beside him, before running out to Solo, chasing him all around camp, Florida had noticed this before getting infront of Sophie, a small grunt was enough to get Sophie to run off scared. Belle had grabbed a serving of squirrel, chowing down on it while Lassie and Sparrow were sleeping, Bracken had been playing by himself with a ball of moss, on his back and kept throwing it up into the air, Belle grinned joyfully at her pup, proud he could still play despite having his 2 littermates asleep.
One Moon Later
Logan and Jet had both set off on a Hunting Patrol late in the day, Solo had eaten a serving of rabbit, as well as a serving of magpie. Florida snuck out that night, making sure nobody had noticed, he had to carefully move out from the small cramped den between Rookie and Poppy, he carefully walked out the camp, hoping no dog had followed him he arrived at the border, he saw Korra there and dipped his head as a greeting, "Hello, Korra!" he grinned

Swinging Blades

Number of Dogs: 6 Males_ 4 Females_ 10 Total
Dimitri strolled into the birthing den with some food in his mouth for Gracie. He was the only dog who hasn't met the puppies. Kota didn't allow him to see them because they were too young. He said that Dimitri would have gotten too excited and may have hurt the pups. "'You are barely not a pup yourself. The puppies are too small for you to see them.' What did he think I was going to do to them? I wasn't going to squish them. I just want to see the new members of the kennel." Dimitri entered the den and startled Gracie. She growled a low growl at him. "Calm down Gracie, it's just me. I brought you some food." Gracie relaxed and greeted Dimitri. "Thank you Dimitri. Looking after these pups has been a challenge. They are very rambunctious." Dimitri sat down and turned to Gracie. "Maybe you should go take a walk and get some fresh air. I can watch the kids for you." Gracie wasn't sure of that idea. "Maybe you can get Callie to help watch them." "I can do it by myself. What could they possibly do? I'm responsible. Please?" Gracie finally said "Fine. But I'm just going for a quick walk. I'll be back soon." Gracie got up and left the den. Clover climbed all over her larger brother. Maxie took down Clover and then jumped on Rocco's back. Rocco yelped and said "Stop Maxie! I don't like playing like that!" While that was happening, Clover snuck up on Maxie and bit him on his tail. "I got you!" "No you don't. I'm gonna get you!" The puppies just noticed Dimitri. Clover greeted "Hi Dimitri. You are really big. I bet you could take down a whole deer by yourself." Rocco commented "You're so dark." Maxie said "Just because you're bigger than me, that doesn't mean I'm scared of you. I can take you out easily. I've been practicing on Rocco and I have killer skills." Dimitri laughed. "Haha I'll take you on any day. I've been trained by our alpha himself." "Then square up. I'm not scared!" Dimitri got into the playing position and Maxie charged at him. He went for Dimitris paw but Dimitri lifted it out of the way. He shoved Maxie with his muzzle, causing Maxie to tumble away. But Maxie came right back at him again. He went for Dimitris tail and chomped down on it. Dimitri yelled in pain, turned, and pinned Maxie under his paw. Maxie squirmed under it and yelled "Dimitri I can't breathe. Let me up." "Not before you give up and say I'm your higher up." Clover yelled "Stop! He can't move. Let him up. This isn't fun!" Maxie yelped "I give up. I give up!" Dimitri released Maxie and Clover and Rocco ran over to him. Maxie breathed heavily and whimpered. Gracie then walked back into the den. Rocco ran over to her and cried "Mom don't leave us again! Dimitri almost killed Maxie!" Hearing this Gracie glared at Dimitri and growled threateningly. "Dimitri what is the meaning of this!?" His tail went between his legs and his ears flat on his head. "We were just playing. I didn't know I was hurting him. We were play fighting." "With a 2 month old puppy? Dimitri how old are you? You may be an ironteeth but you are still just an immature puppy! Get out of here!" Gracie stepped in front of her puppies protectively. Her eyes were fierce as she snarled at him. Dimitri whimpered "I'm sorry. I'll go." He left the den with his tail tucked feeling like he'd never be able to see the pups again.
Ever since Callie and Keesha found the new dog, he hasn't said a word. Even when Kota asked if he wanted to be in the kennel, he only nodded his head. No one knew his name and the collie kept to himself. Kota asked him to go hunting and he stood up and walked silently with him.
Lekkar also didn't talk much. He didn't tell anyone, but he hates being in this kennel. When he asked the ancestors for a kennel he was expecting a large kennel that battled a lot. They would have a strong alpha that never backed away from a fight. That kennel would be the top kennel around and every other kennel would look up to theirs. Instead, he got a kennel with an old alpha, no beta, and few dogs. The alpha takes in any dog that comes his way and most of his dogs are young and ignorant. This kennel shows no initiative to expand their territory. And the first job as shaman was to deliver pups to an undernourished mother. He hoped something would change.

Next Ancestor Visit: Now

Billie had sat in silence all day so when she heard voices outside it startled her. Red and Stormy appeared carrying a hawk between them. Billie tilted her head in confusion. Ridge and Mazey should be with them, right? She went outside and looked around. It was almost nightfall but there was no sign of her kennel-mates. She decided to head towards the spring. When she was getting closer she heard laughter. She peered around the corner to see Ridge and Mazey swimming, splashing each other using their noses to flick water up. They climbed out of the water and shook out their fur. Mazey sniffed the air with a frown but then she smiled poisonously and padded around Ridge, making sure their fur touched. Billie flinched, tears threatening to spill. Mazey then whispered something to Ridge and he trotted towards here Billie was hiding on his way back to camp. She ducked behind a rock, unable to speak to him. Once he had disappeared she looked out at Mazey again. Mazey stared straight back at her, eyes glowing with malice. Billie hid again but Mazey had already seen her. ”Come out Billie!” She called. Billie gulped and gathered up her courage before she slid out to face the other female. ”It’s not nice to spy Billie.” She sneered.
”Stay away from Ridge!” Billie snarled.
”Why? That would make him unhappy and I would think you of all dogs wouldn’t want him to be unhappy.”
”Wh-What do you mean? Why would he be unhappy?”
”Didn’t you see his face? He loves my company, and who knows, maybe he loves me.” Suddenly Mazey dashed forwards and grabbed Billie by the scruff. With a heave she dragged the alpha to the edge of the spring and shoved her in. Billie yelped as freezing water penetrated her coat and she whimpered as her large belly threatened to sink her. Even though they lived in the desert it still got freezing cold at this time of year and especially this time of day. She pulled herself up to solid ground to find Mazey had made a run for it. She forced her paws to move and she slunk towards camp shivering. She howled as she felt pain in her stomach. She somehow got to the cage where she collapsed, screaming. Bailey immediately burst from her den with a bundle of herbs. Ridge stood from where he had sat with Mazey and ripped a chunk from the hawk. He dropped it next to her head and lay down next to her.
”Eat it, you’ll need your strength.” He murmured softly. She fought the urge to push him away but it eventually overwhelmed her.
”You think I’m weak! You think I can’t stay strong! Well I can so leave me alone!” She snapped. Shocked murmurs echoed around her and she covered her ears.
”What are you talking about Billie?” His voice was full of hurt as he stared at her.
”Ignore her Ridge, she’s being irrational.” Mazey tried to lead the male away but he pulled away.
”No! She’s my mate!” Billie sighed when he began grooming her sodden fur.
”I’ll explain everything tomorrow…” She promised and took a bite of the hawk.
”It’s going to be a long night but we’ll get through…” He stayed with her the whole night and when morning came he organised all the duties for her and said goodbye before setting off to ask the ancestors for a dog.-

The pack wagged their tails happily in excitement, hearing news of Tania expecting was great news! And Artermis had been wanting to catch a few herbs that may be useful for the birth and to make Tania more comfortable, and Connor, he'd never been more than excited to hear the wonderful news, and the pack has been trying to make Tania feel comfortable, with extra pampering and to be ready for their first pups.
Just then, a small brown and white pup entered the small clearing the pack was at, and all of them turned to look at the small creature.
"Well hello there little one." Artermis cooed. The small pup looked up at her in happiness.
"I finally found company!" He yipped, pawing the ground impatiently.
Koda peered at the small pup, then looked over to Elan,
"Up for some mentoring? He'll make a pretty good Ironteeth."
Elan nodded, tongue hanging out.
