Information on the story:
Takes place in the year 2---'s, in the future when they are discovering artifacts and such from our time and ancient times that we could not. Lush forests and other places filled with vegetation have gone underground to escape the pollution, though they are also re-growing stronger after all the time has passed and onto some of the many polluted areas.

Chapter 1

Athena was lowered down into the cavern, which reeked of a moist and damp smell, which was understandable as the cave rocks and stalactites were slick with some kind of wet slime. She gripped her tool case in her hand and inhaled slowly, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, which she then exhaled and felt her shoes touch the ground. She calmly unhooked her belay and lit a torch, making the cavern extremely bright, leaving near her rope so she could find her way back. Though an eerie sound was emitted from deep within the cave, as a shiver went up her spine a wind came gusting through and she rubbed her arms, teeth chattering. Athena turned on her lantern, as she left her torch near her starting point, and continued on her way, as she ran her hand along the wall she noticed an interesting texture and feel to the wall, which she thought nothing of at first until she had noticed that it continued along the wall for longer than 10 minutes or so. Which Athena then decided to turn her lantern towards the wall and saw ancient cave writings, though she wasn't quite sure what kind of culture they were from, as they looked different from what she learned through school. Athena had though that she had possibly discovered a new culture from long ago, though it was hard to tell as the caver markings were covered in dirt and grim, which was understandable as the cave was sticky with some slick, and damp mud. Which was drying fast on her fur, which she found uncomfortable, but didn't mind. She wiped her thumb on her pants and spat on her hands, as she didn't want to put any of them in her mouth to wipe of the mud from the wall. She reached out and rubbed the muck off of the wall, shocked by what she had seen, she stared with mouth agape grabbing her walkey-talky clicking it to the right frequency, which she tried to talk through it but it had just made a loud obscure fizzing noise. Athena banged it on her hand lightly making a tapping sound on her soft paw-pads. She sighed in an angered tone and walking back towards the rope, but must have made a wrong turn, as she didn't see the light, or, the way back. She had assumed her light had just gone out as she took longer than she thought, trying to decrypt the cave messages, but she must have stayed longer than anticipated. Although the longer she walked and attempted to trail her way back, it almost seemed as if she were getting farther and farther away. Athena wandered aimlessly trying to find her way back to the place she had entered through, though Athena thought she was getting closer to a different exit as she felt the walls were thick with ivy, moss and other vegetation. Soon though, she realized it was a rather large opening, to a place unheard of, an utter paradise. Athena relished the feeling of smelling the fresh green in her nose, the damp smell of the ivy covered ground made her ears twitch. Though she wondered how she was going to show the others this, how to get back to her campsite outside the cave. Suddenly she heard a cracking sound from behind lush bushes and trees, the cobble and stone covered bottom to top in grass and flowers peeking through the cracks. Athena called out in a shaky voice, "H-Hello? Is someo-one in here?" She paused, hearing nothing but the distant sound of water rushing and birds, which surprised her as she didn't think birds would live down in a cave. "M-my name is Athena, Athena Persephone. I'm an archaeologist as well as palaeontologist and I came down in to this cave to explore it? Who are you?" Athena wondered if she was crazy, there was probably no one there. She chuckled under her breath and began to take a step, though she almost fell over catching herself as she saw movement and the rustle of plants, twigs and leaves. Athena gasped, slowly, someone arose from the brush.

Athena's mouth was agape as she saw a tall slender dark purple kalon rise out of the brush, his clothes looked to be made by himself, though Athena thought they looked rather nice. Suddenly, a rumbling voice came from him, he seemed friendly, but also unknowing. "Are you lost?" the tone in his voice made an uncertain emotion, one she couldn't recognize. "I-I am. Though I came here cave exploring. I understand that some of the plants and vegetation has started to move underground? From all the pollution, if they could not adapt to the fumes, smoke, and other pollutants?" Athena paused to see if the Kalon would answer. Although he did not. He stood there blankly starring at her, hair knotted and clothes ragged, it looked as though he had been here for quite some time. "Eh- uhm- what is your name?" Athena asked looking at the seemingly golden eyes of the other Kalon, a bright contrast from his dark, purple, somewhat gray fur. "I am Ares." he paused, his tone low "Ares Achilles."
