@I ᶫᵒᵛᵉᵧₒᵤ Ian ♥, I
can see her as a Shelia, actually, and poking back to the start it doesn't look like she was adopted out, like some adopts do for their mascots. As for being late to the party, well, you're certainly not the only one, and better late than never, no?
Re-introduction time! What Buttermilks do you own, if any? I own four Buttermilks at the moment, all female.
Cymosa,
the young, matronly,
mother hen of the herd.
Mauna, May's first and currently only daughter,
clumsy and curious, very much prone to trouble but just as sweet as her dam.
Serenata, an antisocial moo who can get quite vicious when her peace, quiet, and personal space aren't minded. And last but not least, Sera's daughter and the baby of my herd
Zinnia, timid and bashful, but always trying to give others 'a little bit of sunshine' in their lives with the mouthfuls of dandelions she regularly plucks and carries around for that very reason.
In what ways are your Buttermilks similar (design/concept/personality) and what ways are they different? Most of my sweethearts are all rather mild mannered, and gentle souls- Sera being the sole exception to that, retaliating with extreme prejudice if she's feeling slighted or agrrivate in any way. They're all done in warm hues, with fur of browns and creams, though there's a fairly distinct divide- May and her daughter being darker in shade, both brown moos, while Sera and her calf are both pretty in pastels.
Do any of your Buttermilks have any companions of their own? Perhaps another Buttermilk or some other animal they adore? Um... Adore would be a very strong word for it, however Sera tolorates and has even grown grudgingly fond of May's presence and fussing, when were any other cow to try it, they might very well end up with a broken tail or a torn ear. Not to say the pair didn't have their own rough start of it, but May is allowed far more liberties than even Nia, who actually views May as more of her mother, and Sera as a grumpy aunt, despite knowing the truth of the matter. Sera doesn't do well with calves, even her own, so May was the one doing most of the rearing and raising as Sera struggled valiantly not to snap and snarl at the whiny little thing demanding her attention.
Where do your Buttermilks live, and who do the live with? Do they get along with everyone there? As of this moment, my modest little herd is located in the foothills of a mountainous region, nearby a small village that doesn't see much heavy traffic, save for during their annual Beltane and Samhain festivals. Even with Sera's temper, the four are all rather well liked by the locals, who often will have some manner of treat on them for if any of the Buttermilks come close to the fence as they're passing by. Part of this fondness and favor though is due to their milk being prized amongst the villagers, and especially prized is the cheesecakes their owner is known to make from scratch. A particularly lucky soul caught being kind to the four cows can often find themselves invited to sit down and chatter for a while during the hot months over one such slice, and a vast majority of the town is in agreement that offering up a sugar cube every now and again is well worth it. While there are some whom are less than fond of the bovines, especially Sera, they've long since learned to mind their manners- after all, the pale cow has no tolorance for anything less.
What are your Buttermilks favorite activity? Least favorite? May adores looking after others, and entertaining little ones, watching the wonder light up in their eyes with every story she tells them, making her a wonderful babysitter. She doesn't, however, enjoy ice skating, which was an accidental discovery one year when a local lake froze over and Cymosa mortified herself on the ice just trying to keep her hooves under her. Mauna is an adventurer at heart, and loves to get into anything and everything she really shouldn't- how she ever got up on top of the grain silo, nobody knows, and she's certainly not telling despite her embarrassed pride at the accomplishment. On the other hand, she dislikes having to remain still or confined for too long, growing bored and restless far too swiftly, and intolorant of either feeling.
Sera loves to savor the peace and near quiet of nature, dozing lightly in the warm sunshine. Yet heavens help the poor sod who tries to drag her to one of the local festivals, the clamor and commotion and stupid people turning her mood sour in a flash, headaches making her even shorter a fuse than usual. Nia, on the contrary, takes delight in making others smile, often grazing close to the fence to keep an eye out for anyone coming or going, a pile of uprooted dandelions close by so she can swiftly snatch them up and go running to offer the bright yellow weeds to the first person to pass by without a smile on their face. She makes a hobby of carefully picking the flowers from an area before she starts grazing, and one of her fondest memories is from when one of the village girls took the flowers she'd given the human, and wove them into a flower crown for the pale Buttermilk. She's of a similar mind to her dam, however, as to being amongst the hustle and bustle of a crowd. Timid and easily spooked, she's quite content to avoid the festivals.
Do you like writin stories or more in depth histories about your Buttermilks? If you have more than one, is there one in particular you write more about than the others? Unfortunately most of what I've written for my sweethearts was lost when my tablet crashed, however I do prefer writing out little stories for them when the muse strikes me. I think overall, I've written the most for Sera, followed closely by May, then Nia, with very little written for Mana. Sera is simply quite amusing to write for, since she's got the quickest temper of the lot and isn't above letting anyone and everyone know her displeasure.
Alternatively, do you like to make art of / get art of your Buttermilks? If so, show your favorite art piece (and be sure to credit)! I'm not that great at drawing cows, I'm afraid I must admit, however I have attempted to doodle my darlings before, and I do continue said sorry attempts trying to figure out how to properly draw a cow. Haven't really received any gift art, and my own works are still too shoddy for me to have a favorite among them.
If you have any couples, pick one and describe how they get along! How and where did it happen? No romantic couples, I'm afraid, however May and Sera have an interesting older-little-sister sort of bond. Sera doesn't always mind her health very well, and that was something that had May trying to mother her right off the bat despite being the younger of the pair. Naturally, Sera didn't take too kindly to the darker cow's efforts, and lashed out at the other countless times, however May's bull-headed persistence eventually won out, Sera grudgingly relenting to the other's demands since it was less of a headache and less of a hassle in the long run.
What types of designs are you looking forward to seeing? Any color palettes you'd really like to see? I really adore the dun banding and barring, as well as stripes on a coat with white marks partially covering them, like what you can see on my two pastel girls. I adore just about any design that's partially covered by white marks, however, as I must admit a weak spot for the contrast it creates.
What was your favorite thing about the adopts when they were active? I loved the soft lines and beautiful designs, though I didn't always have the courage to try for the ones that caught my eye if they were already really popular by the time I started filling out the form.
If you could change one thing about the species, be it rules or otherwise, what would it be? Well, the only rules that I would of changed, have already been changed, so I suppose I don't really have anything to say on that. The only other thing I can think of is maybe finishing the last four bulls for the bull event, since it's currently at Buttermilk #274, and there's a gap between that bull and the next Buttermilk's number, which is 279.
What drove you to adopt a Buttermilk and become active in the community? What advice would you give to someone who was looking to become active again, now that Buttermilks have a new owner? I fell in love with their soft lines and beautiful designs, as said, though I never really got active before. Couldn't really screw my courage to the sticking place before they became inactive... As for advice, um, I don't think anyone here bites, so don't be afraid to pipe up..? Advice that I'd need to take myself, in all honesty.
What is one thing you're looking forward to with the adopts re-opening? I'm eager to fill out my herd some more, see all the pretty new moos, and to see how the milk bottles and store and such all end up working out.
